- Small Faces - Happy Days Toytown
Life is just a bowl of All-Bran
You wake up every morning and it's there
So live as only you can
It's all about enjoy it 'cos ever since you saw it
There aint no one can take it away.
So life is just a bowl of All-Bran - very true!
What you say has made it very clear
To be sure I'll live as best as I can
But how can I remember to keep it all together
When half the moon is taken away?
Well, I've got the very thing
If you can laugh and sing
Give me those happy days toytown newspaper smiles
Clap twice, lean back, twist for a while
When you're untogether and feeling out of tune
Sing this special song with me, don't worry 'bout the moon
Looks after itself
[Steve:] Can I have a go?
[Ron:] Yes
[Steve:] Yeah?
[Ron:] Sing now:
Give me those happy days toytown newspaper smile
Clap twice, lean back, twist for a while
Well now you've got the hang of it
There's nothing you can't do with it
If you're very tuned to it you can't go wrong.
All together!
Give me those happy days toytown newspaper smile
Clap twice, lean back, twist for a while
Well now we've got the hang of it
There's nothing we can't do with it
And now we're very into it we can't go wrong!
[Stanley Unwin's nonsense here]
Give me those happy days toytown newspaper smile
Clap twice, lean back, twist for a while
Well now we've got the hang of it
There's nothing we can't do with it
And now we're very into it we can't go wrong! Видеоклипы
No matter how many times I watch this video, it still makes me smile everytime.
Me too 🙂
Mir auch 🙂
Sounds like Steve was reminding himself and all of us of his Artful Dodger days.
Don't worry about the moon - looks after itself. These lyrics changed my life.
I love this bit of footage. Happy as fuck. I don't think I've ever been that happy.
The Small Faces were always fun . They did not take themselves seriously which made them sound unusual, unique, and brilliant
Humour, cockney music hall and funky tunes. That was the Small Faces all over. RIP Steve and Ronnie.
So amazing to see them alive and interacting with each other. I love the Small Faces!
Steve loved the Cockney music hall songs and this was his tribute. What a stupid stuffy presenter!!
Love the interaction between Steve and Ronnie. .. Something which can't be replaced. Ever.
It hit Ronnie bad when Steve left
When The Faces became Rod Stewart and The Faces, he could see it happening again so he got out first
Two legends so underated its criminal
Steve and Ronnie were such good friends and a great songwriting partnership. It's very sad that it ended badly between them.
And now they're very shrewd with it!
Just looked like the happiest bunch of lads in a band, simply doing their thing.. And a pretty excellent thing it was, too!.. Such a great pity, as so many have already said and truly feel, that they were so badly mismanaged and also the (near as dammit) original lineup split up way too early.. RIP, 3 of the 4.. For me, the Small Faces lived and played some very special songs and moments that we're extremely lucky to still be able to get a look and listen in on a few of... 🙂💙
These are MY people ... East Enders ... it's more than music, it's culture!
Nice to see a band actually fucking smiling!
Coz they're Nice...
RIP Mac. Even when they pissing about they were 10 times better than anyone else
Just love this happy tune..a good Cockney knees up..
A great birthday song for Steve Marriott . It is his birthday today. When he still would live he became 66. But he lives on in his music.Thank you Steve,it's all too beautiful. Let's twist again !
Just a bunch of mates having a good old laugh. A real joy of a band!
Andy D Too bad they ended up hating each other
@@inabind416 Yeah, it all fell apart after The Universal really but they were some band.
I always loved when Marriot sang in the cockney accent then kicked in with one of the greatest voices of all time.
Yup ,a real joy!
@@inabind416 think it was more they ended up hating Marriott , apart from Kenny Jones , still a brilliant group though
best thing with small faces is you can see theyre genuinely enjoying themselves and not just going through motions as opposed to other bands.theyre not really tied to an image either.what u see is what you get.a real gem of a band
It brings tears to my eyes when I realize three of them are no longer with us.
It's such a shame.
Trocourt im the same
Rockin' Happy Days and " Knees up Mother Brody " Oh yes, deep joy.
An absolutely bloody joyous performance. The very reason why bands get together in the first place: the pure enjoyment 🙂
Ogden's is my favourite British concept (or half concept) album of the 60s
This almost makes me feel sad, despite the jolly nature of the song, mainly by seeing Steve and Ronnie whole, happy, and HERE!
you CANNOT beat the Small faces you just cant! They were pure magik genuine & pure. "UK OK - UK All the way" to quote another UK music maestro Ray Davies! Aww Marriott - no style he couldn't play or sing to perfection, look at Humble Pie or Packet - God what a gift he had! And Plonk - he could rave, rock or play folk & country too, I miss the real music era & I miss Marriott he was so "it" & he'll always be "it" in my rock book. "Clap Twice" indeed. cheers!
R.I.P. Ian "Mac" McLagan, gone to join Steve and Ronnie in the band in the sky.
Small Faces, what an amazing band. Some brilliant songs they made, one of my favorite bands EVER.Loved Steve Marriott, such a character.Great band, great music.Thats what music was all about, actually hearing what they're singing. So sadly missed 😭
I'm having this played at my funeral, everyone will smile . . .
They truly spread joy!
Allan Ostermann yeah but sad to say they are no longer with us :(
Oh this band was something special. This video always cheers me up when I'm feeling down.
Can't stop watching this it is incredible on every level...
When you are old you have to hear old music, but how more songs I hear like this. I feel younger and younger and I like this
I feel what you're sayin' 👍🏼
I remember one day I played one of my mix cds while ferrying my dad to the car dealership one day...the first four songs were this one, All Or Nothing, Itchycoo Park, and Every Little Bit Hurts. He refused to believe they were all performed by the same band after they had finished up, they were so versatile, especially Steve's vocals. He and Ronnie should still be here.
When English whimsy, tinges of psychedelia and rock collide, The Small Faces. The best of British in 1968.
Mate, "YOU'RE BLOODY WELL RIGHT!!!!!!!
These spunky lads are soooo adorable 💕
Ace band, real characters and great musicians
Believe it or not I saw a documentary on telly the other night about small faces and at the age of 56 I really getting into their sound. O my god Steve so gorgeous and tiny man. But his voice is massive. Now I'm reading a book bout them. Talk bout eye opener just wish they hadn't left so young....... But can't stop playing this and red balloon. Love them wish I'd been around then to really appreciate
The world today needs more people like these guys. People just having fun, and music they like instead of what sells
2020 checking in. Yes we do indeed.
Where's the bathroom? Gotta go number 2
De-Wayne, you’re really Cool and smart but beats up feeds dog sh*t plus elbow drops Jason Neill while buttcrushing whole body
De-Wayne, you’re really Cool and smart but puts hellostranger between huge buttcrack everyone in chat gets sucked into buttcrack
Jason Neill wanna fight? I’m losing my sight so y’all better decide before I fall into my buddy Jamal
The original small faces were the best party band ever!
'I will clap twice. lean back and twist for a while until the day I die!!' Give us those happy days toy town newspaper smiles... I adore this video - so nice to see a band that just played because they loved to, I miss Marriott - I miss Plonk I miss what real music and musicians were... don't you?
This has been one of my top 2 albums of all time, along with The Yardbirds (aka Roger The Engineer) since I was a teenager and now I'm 60. What they have in common is they were both at that transitional stage between mod/rock/britpop/R&B and Psychedelia. Exciting times when music was in a state of flux and far less predictable. So hard to choose between the greatest voice (Marriott) and his interaction with Lane (for the Small Faces) and the absolute mastery of the guitar (Jeff Beck for the Yardbirds). Happy Days!
One of those rare things over my near on 70yrs in this Realm where I just can't help but break down in floods of tears.....for many a sad reason/feeling & just as many a joyous...as ever, always a profound & cathartic experience.
This tune always made me feel good. That and Lazy Sunday Afternoon.
bloody brilliant tune!!! rem seeing this on TOTP2 6yrs ago. went out and bought "ogdens nut gone flake". one of the best albums ever!!
Oh, for a minute I thought you said that REM did this on Top of the Pops!
Used yo hear this shit while screwing you up the butthole 😷
The Small Faces where incredibly underrated, these lads where very young when they where together yet now, in 2019, they still live on in their music.
The best band that ever done did it
Happiest song ever!
"Life is just a bowl of All bran" One mouthfull and it gives you the shits.
Good to hear this brilliant tune again.
I love the atmosphere they generate with this song, makes me feel like partying with them!
Remember kids. There are but four small faces.
All the l
There Are But One Small Face
They look like they're having a great time. Love this. Love them. Loved Steve Marriot.
never a truer word sang in jest. the best Brit band ever
Wish i was a cockney !!! Top class love the small faces We are We are We are the mods !!!
Never fails to cheer me up when i watch this.
Didn't realise All Bran had been around for that long! Learn something new every day
Steve was so talented-he could sing in this wistful way but yet also in both the most soulful, deep powerfull voice and in a silky way on ballads.
What a great band. Excellent musicians who know exactly what they're doing and having a BLAST while they do it! THIS is what rock and roll used to be and what it SHOULD be. It's a shame that it's all glitz and pretense and marketing nowadays with no substance. The Small Faces ROCK!
how bloody great were they?
Duncan Birss bloody fuckin great
Agree
Duncan Birss bloody dam brilliant
Hallo mate, I'm a Puerto Rican Steve lookalike!!! Long live THE MODS!! Small Faces The Who, The Creation, The Action, Paul & Barry Ryan, John's Children

@@hectorfeliciano8183 a Puerto Rican Steve lookalike!!!!!!!!!!.....😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱💜
3.43 of pure happiness!! I can't stop smiling when I watch this. Just the coolest.
I 've said it a zillion trillionn times but Marriott and all his bands were the real deal and Ronnie Lane was a true gem! I miss 'em too . I miss real singers and real players, if there's any justice out there I hope Ronnie and Steve are out in " 'the universal"' hanging out somewhere having a good laugh and sharing their happy days toy town newspaper smiles!
So young and so clever.
Best band ever.
Never saw this vid but it just may be my new favorite. Young lads just having one hell of a time.
So glad Stanley Unwin's on here. I use to live opposite him in a small Northamptonshire Village called Long Buckby. I lived in one of 6 Terraced houses known as Policeman's Row. Great bloke.
One of my favourite Small Faces performances. Seeing these four young fellas larkin''about it's a real tragedy that only 1 is left...........R.I.P chaps..................
You can see Steve's early musical theater talents displayed here. They look like they are truly having a good time.
Love this track. RIP Stevie Marriot 💔 The incomperable Stanley Unwin. Fab 😁
Always brings a smile to the face, even in times of uncertainty. Thank you Small Faces xXx
so love this band and song so much x
Proper London Accents.......Cracking.......👍🇬🇧🤓
Ah yes, Colour Me Pop. BBC2. Loved that show.
Brings tears to my eyes. That is what Brit Pop is all about and when it is good it is incomparable.
GREAT GREAT BAND
The natural humour between Steve and Ronnie is the essence of being in a band! It may be "In-humour" or whatever but it binds you forever!!
Heard vic reeves taking about this track as one of his favs on some tv show and they played this very clip, puts a big smile on my face, excellent stuff:)
Love it!!! Small Faces are well under-rated.
They're perfectly rated by the people that appreciate them.
Just a great joyful song from all 4 classy guys who knew how to have fun with their talents..great
Under-rated group. Gorgeous. Thanks so much!
It's a blast to see them having fun! Brings a smile every time!
Love this song from an underated band❤❤❤🎉🤩😊😎🤗
Classic song they always looked like they were having great fun
A real jewel.great story.good music !
seriously watched this too many times
Magic..full of cockney humour & zest..not to mention a top top rock band.
Oh! What a mind blast. Lovely stuff.
Excellente chanson et vidéo. Très original. Avec Ronnie qui chante, les très sympathiques présentateur et récitant-roi Stanley Unwin. Çà fait vraiment plaisir de voir cette vidéo pour la première fois, mais tant d'années après sa création !
2.06...Stanley Unwin absolute legand...Back when groups and comedians were talented....Happy days....
Live, no lip sync, fun, spirited-fantastic!!
This is such a fantastic good times song, but there's some pain in watching the video, seeing Steve and Ronnie so young and vital....
So life is just a bowl of allbraaaaaaanahh
Well Said...I couldn't have put it better myself!
Classic track, great album . . .
Oh how i love SF and how i adore Marriott ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
Happy Days they were.
When music was music! 🎶
I get this stuck in my head every morning...
13-year-old Steve Marriott was in the original stage cast of "Oliver" in 1960 (along with Davy Jones of later Monkees' fame and Phil Collins) and often gave voice to the Artful Dodger's songs when Davy Jones wasn't up to it. You can really discern the stage influence on Marriott's performance in this video!
This song never fails to make me smile. :-)
This is great!! Nice change to see some laughing and joking around from the Brit invasion crowd.
I'm loving Steve's shoes too - awesome!
I don't think they realised how special they were
East London's finest
England's finest mate. Steve's voice is so fucking awesome it still gives me the shivers. He's just fucking around on this one and it's crazy good. So many great, great songs. RIP Steve, Plonk and Ian.......best ever.
Great song thanks for sharing this with us!!!!
Omg brilliant so much talent ❤️
