      Be careful champ, you haven't taken a full-on body shot from the fiercest training a partner in the game, Rachel Varga 😊 we saw the fear in your eyes Gabe when she was gloved up. You can't hide fear like that. 😁 she'll kick ass and then fix em up, so they look good afterwards.

    I used to have my buddy hit me in the abs all the time to increase how much I can withstand. No gloves, no Hand-Wraps, and no shirt.
    However, it was only in one specific area for the most part. This video showed me to punch all areas of my stomach and abs. I'll start off with shots that aren't as hard though, just like you had mentioned. Great Stuff!!

    how about a drop bar? skiing athletes train their leg pressure to the skiing slope by having a weight dropped for a minute range of motion against their feet in a push press position. by doing this blindfolded, they train their muscle for autonomous/somatic and ultrafast twitch-on-impact reaction. because they can't see it coming, so their skins nerves start sending the majority of the signal to the muscle instead of interfacing with the brain. i could imagine this to work for stomach training too by letting a weight drop for about 1-2 centimeters and touching your stomach just slightly at the end range with your goal to expand against it on impact as fast as you can. what is a conscoius effort in the beginning later on becomes an automatic reaction

    Do these not cause internal injuries that might not be felt but over several months or years, they will abruptly show with serious symptoms?
    I ask with humility and 100% respect to you Mr. GV.

    • @biglenny2165
      @biglenny2165 3 года назад +10

      I know your'e not asking me but all internals aren't taking any of the impact when your'e ready for the blow. The abs take everything, think of them like a shield thats protecting you, unless its a rather serious strike hitting you nothing will get through your shield to cause damage and long term damage doesn't really occur to the body like it does the brain.

    Last week while sparring, I got hit on body and it's still paining, I'm in search of exactly this kind of video.
    Is this method can be use for ribs also?

    • @harrypoderskis
      @harrypoderskis 3 года назад +11

      Erm in a roundabout way, yes?
      If you get kicked in the ribs, a few ouch things can happen: they break or are bruised, or you get hit in the right side, which makes contact with your liver. From experience, if you feel it after a week, that’s a fractured/bruised rib, buddy. Otherwise, a more serious possibility - bruised liver, but that should either go away in 48hrs or you have some internal bleeding which slows up healing 🥲
      This exercise, or any ab/core exercise for that matter, increases the barrier between the environment and your internal organs, makes it all sturdy and well connected. By doing the above routine you also condition yourself to brace for impact, which is a neat little bonus for fight sports.
      So, yes, this is for your ribs, and your core(and protecting your liver lol).
      Ultimately, if you’re not a heavyweight with a big belly, you’ll always feel a good, powerful, nicely placed shot on the ribs, and it may end fights. Even the best, elite, most conditioned athletes get their ribs damaged.
