      Honestly I regret commenting overall after seing "the brain" argument.

    As a boxer, I agree with the punching stuff mentioned. I even agree with the lead hook to the body without dipping/or slipping the head towards the lead side. (Which is still ok and very common to do, and I use that dip most of the time) But I do agree that from an upright stance throwing the lead hook to the body is more powerful, but I'm more worried about precision then power, ( my lead/left hook is looking to nail the liver) but the main reason why I would not slip/dip when throwing the left hook is because it's way less telegraphed. So when I do throw the lead hook to the body with the slip/dip it's because I'm getting my head off the center (as you did mention) but because of the telegraph of the dip/slip I will set that up or use as a counter for there right hand. But being that dipping rather than from a upright stance is a little less Powerful but still plenty of power (enough to do the job) to hurt that liver and even finish the fight.the liver is so sensitive, but I don't have to tell you , LoL. My point is I like to use both. Like many controversial or preference techniques I like to use both if it's beneficial to me and my style. Now if I was a kickboxer or fighting in any sport that has Kicking to the Head, I would think it'd be best to slip and dip less as possible, or not at all. I would think. Thank for this video I always get a lot out of your videos.

      Mikes Tysons peek a boo style seems to be missing from this conversation. The step and lean in is def gonna reduce power, but the slip and hop in allows you to get to a closer lateral position with your feet under you so you drive a full power shot and follow up with other close range power shots. Also if you are a heavy weight and have massive power like George foreman you can easily lean in and still have huge power.

    • @JohnnyLynnLee
      @JohnnyLynnLee 8 дней назад

      As a boxer you SHOULDN'T agree.
      It is PERFECTLY possible to lean forward and deliver ENORMOUS amount of power in your hook. If you squat and deliver the power from the ground. Much like what Mike Tyson or Joe Frazier would do (in different ways). What you have to do is go DOWN and then UP with your punch, using the HIPS, not the shoulders, and transfer your weight to the other leg. In a way that if he goes back and you miss, or you train in on the air, you'll completely change your weight to the other leg. That can be done by a more square position or a gazelle like punch. You shouldn't lean your WHOLE body forward, but only bend at your waist. Your head will STILL be between your legs.
      Think like that. Instead on focusing on putting your head forward, think on pushing your but back, like when squatting. If you only put your head forward then, yeas, you'll be out of balance. You should bend on YOURSLEF, at your waist, like if you were closing a book.

    Gabriel, I am a young fighter, and I am genuinely curious, if it is too personal I understand, but how are you making enough money to support yourself while not fighting in huge promotions getting $500,000 a fight win or lose, and how did you support yourself in glory when the payout for kickboxing is so low compared to some other combat sports/promotions

    Gabriel is def right about losing power when you lean in on the hook. But kinda sad he didn't mention the peek a boo hop in, by doing that you get your head of the center line, like when you lean in, except because you hopped in your feet are right under you allowing you to get a max power body shot and follow up with other devastating close range attacks(uppercuts, head hooks, knees, takedowns, etc)

    On pointing the foot during knees for better mobility/flexibility: I'm guessing it's related to how people can stretch their leg more easily with a pointed toe. It seems to loosen things up a bit as well as reduce pain signals from a nerve in the leg.

    Bushido on the mainland (Drako) makes a far superior BOB dummy than Century. It’s way more dense like an actual body, and they made the dummy asian so the nose doesn’t get ripped off from training.

      Our Bob dummy is something we only have because we would use it when we are teaching kids classes. Kids love it.
      It is a good training aid for that - but not really good for adults training..... unless someone does not hit any harder than a 9 year old, as it moves around too much.
      Gabriel uses it for videos now and then, but that is it.
