You can extend your 14 hours by split sleeper berth. Provided you took your first break of at least a minimum of 2 hours. Enough time to get you out of there.

Schneider National didn't have an option for split sleeper activated. I think it was to cut down on confusion.

Ok all I got out of this was that you are running out of time and have to go find parking.

How much time do you spend on top of the trailer? I want to do tankers, but heights are an issue for me, any suggestions?

We only spend as much time as is necessary to open the dome lid, or check washout caps, hook up an air line, that sort of thing. It's not like you're up there for hours. Honestly I dont have any suggestions but to tell you what will happen. Some of our trailers have a barrier up top, some don't, like our intermodal trailers. On the first day, you will be made to go up top and walk back and forth, and squat down on a non-barrier trailer as a weeding out method. It's just you and the wind up there. Take a deep breath and relax is about all I can say. If you freeze up to the point that you can't get down, you're done. Schneider has to know that you can do it on your own at a customer.

So at every stop you’re up there? And you have to drag a hose/air line up the ladder?

@@kalehallman No you're up there during pretrip and post trip. Takes like 2 minutes both times unless you discover a leak (it'll be a small leak), then you'll have to clean/rectify the issue. Theres an air line that is built into the trailer. It sits up top so it can be connected/disconnected within 30 seconds or so depending on if you're doing an air u load or pump unload.

@@kalehallman Also hoses never connect up top. if you do a pump unload, you're connecting from the bottom of the trailer, to the bottom side of your truck to the pump, then to the customers fill line. Air unload is from the trailer to the customers fill line
