This was super helpful for getting an idea of how well this works for the average student. It's been hard to find people who talk about the iPad with just the basics in mind like browsing websites and documents. So it's refreshing to see someone just run through what the average student would use the iPad for! Thanks for the help!
that’s so true!! idc abt the display, refresh rate, thunderbolt, central stage, whatever. i just want the iPad, these extras are good, indeed, but not so necessary as they try to make them seem like
Not only is this a fantastic review (thank you for not just discussing the specs and comparing it to other ipads), you gave us examples of practical uses and demonstrated how it looks/works when utilizing these functions. But also, this guy is hilarious. Thank you my guy, you helped me decide on the iPad Air for my schooling
Finally someone that actually is helpful. All other videos are like "iPad Pro has 120 HZ and iPad Air has 60 HZ so iPad Pro is better" but we don't want to know that, we want to know the features of it and what unique things you can do on the iPads. This video gives a perfect explanation on what an iPad Air can do for you just simply with school work and not the awful comparisons just because Air is limited to 60 HZ.
This practical video was waaaaaaay more useful than other Top RUclipsrs Reviewing the iPad. It puts things into much better perspective and gives a more honest light to the product! Awesome video, excellent work! I will use your video as reference when someone brings up the same questions
I feel personally victimized when you opened Goodnotes and said that “this is my handwritten notes that took in the beginning of the semester, but stopped like many people so.” 😂 the accuracy
I just bought this iPad (256gb with Wifi+Cellular), upgrading from an iPad 7th 32gb, and I really didn’t know if the Air 5 was the right choice but I just followed my gut and wow, your review settle my mind on that it was definitely the right choice. I use my iPad mainly for college: documents, presentations, assignments, etc and I really struggled with storage so that was the main reason of why I upgraded but I also wanted an iPad that lasted through graduate school. Definitely a new subscriber here!
hey, just wanted to ask you something, whats better 64 gb or 256 gb, im a college student as well and i just want to know. How do you love your ipad so far?
@@itsnika3309 Hey, sorry for the delayed answer but I recommend the 256gb. In my iPad I only have college apps and documents + RUclips + AppleMusic (no pictures, no social media apps, no iMessage plus I deleted most of the Apple base apps that I don’t use) and I’m already near the 50gbs of usage 🫣
@@itsnika3309 and about the other question, the iPad has been great! Definitely a game changer. Everything uploads fast, no delays, great graphics, and great note taking. The battery lasts me through all my classes; I use it mainly from 7am to 3pm non stop and I get home with a 20-50% battery left (depends on the day). I have taken tests and quizzes with the iPad and the experience has been sooooo smooth, no problems at all. The Wifi+Cellular is a bit of an expense ngl but to me it’s been very worthy because my college WiFi is trash and sometimes my home WiFi is too 🤣
THANK YOU for talking about and showing us what the visual/virtual performance gap is now between 60hz with the air now that it has the powerful M1 chip, and the 120hz on the pro. Was really wondering how much the M1 helped virtual lag with 60hz, and now I can see it’s definitely well improved! Shockingly haven’t seen anyone really do that; you helped me decide that yes I do want to purchase. Bravo!! Much love. 🥰
Has anyone ever told you you're inspiring? I would always get annoyed when the on screen keyboard would get in my way of my reading when I am typing at the same time so that was a plus for me.

IPad Air 5 and Apple Magic Keyboard is also working well for this Grandmom of 5 with one major drawback. External storage is needed for me even w/ 256 Gigs. I do use iCloud but it isn’t practical for everything. I “retired” my MacBook Air 2011 long ago, now finding I prefer iOS even if I went for a new iPad Pro 12.9 at some point. What external storage is strictly plug and play without having to first format? (Even tho your video is aimed at college students who grew up w/ technology it’s one of the easiest to follow and understand for older generations. Please keep ‘em coming.)
I’ve had the 12.9 inch iPad Pro with Magic Keyboard and ApplePencil, and just bought the new iPad Air with 64 GB, but returned it. A student can buy the new Air for $549, but with Magic Keyboard at $300 that’s $849, or over $950 with ApplePencil, whereas students can get the MacBook Air for $899 from Apple’s education store. The Macbook’s 256 GB of storage and full operating system seems like a better fit for students. Thoughts?
Woah you’ve got a great point when when you put it that way. I have a 2015 MacBook Pro that I use for typing documents, handling storage, and photo/video editing. So the M1 iPad Air is just alluring bc I’d be able to annotate PDFs easier (applying to grad school right now), and give me super fast video rendering speeds (compared to my current MB). I’d agree with you though, going for the MacBook Air will give you the bigger screen and functionality - granted that’s what Apple’s pricing ladder does, it makes one product $150 less than the next best thing prompting you to spend more. I’m hoping for some potential iPad deals near the back to school season or Black Friday. Edit: I’ve used one of those usb Wacom tablets so I can write on PDFs, but the experience wasn’t ideal for me.
I personally have both the iPad Air and a MacBook and as a student I prefer the iPad over the MacBook, I personally only use my ipad for school and sometimes Apple TV but not downloading anything non school related. The note taking experience is top tier. I didn’t have the magic keyboard but a different keyboard case thats really high quality.
First time I saw the iPad 10th gen, I knew that I was going to get it. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxUGaHtKW8MwCql2fPyIm9-ftTqSMzKFFA Having done that, I have no regrets whatsoever. The battery life is superb, the landscape camera is a winner for me, the shape is suitable for my carrying case. As part of my purchase, I threw in a case from ESR, and a Logitech Crayon to compliment my purchase. So far so good on my iPad. The Logitech Crayon works perfectly with it as well.
Thank you! This is so helpful! I am about to buy an iPad Air 5 for my graduation gift before I start college in the fall. I will also get the paper screen protector that you mentioned. I am excited to start my digital notetaking experience with this product! Thanks again :)
Don’t get the paper like screen protector it’s very expensive and bad, it’ll wear down your $129 dollar Apple Pencil like mad and your screen will look awful, just get a tempered glass screen protector
Hey folks I recently bought an iPad Air 5th Generation. I also bought a UAG case to protect my iPad. I just wanted to ask is it best to remove the iPad from the Case while taking notes for a long time? Reason being my iPad Air does get warm while I'm studying and taking notes. Please advise.

Great video. You present very well. I've been on the fence on this product ( I have a 5th generation ipad now) and your video pushed me over the edge.
This iPad is a winner - M1 with 8gb Ram - longevity + value
I subscribed bc you talked about theranos bc I’ve been following that story since the beginning and that story is SCAN-DA-LOUS.
Same in the beggining I always take notes 3 weeks later I stop because I believe that I have photographic memory , I don't
Damn this is the best in depth review I've seen yet.
Wow, getting excited but also apprehensive with the digital/paperless era. Currently just note tsking but looking fwd to using it for textbooks/pdfs
Thank you! This is so helpful! I am about to buy an iPad Air 5 for my graduation gift before I start college in the fall. I will also get the paper screen protector that you mentioned. I am excited to start my digital notetaking experience with this product! Thanks again :)
This is definitely not worth it I’m going to return it it’s not built like a 600 64gb product, probably going to get the pro11 inc
Don’t get the paper like screen protector it’s very expensive and bad, it’ll wear down your $129 dollar Apple Pencil like mad and your screen will look awful, just get a tempered glass screen protector

Great review and a thumbs up! I think though I’d like it you added some criticisms as well!
You probably wont see this but how does the paper like work with the magic keyboard?
Hey folks I recently bought an iPad Air 5th Generation. I also bought a UAG case to protect my iPad. I just wanted to ask is it best to remove the iPad from the Case while taking notes for a long time? Reason being my iPad Air does get warm while I'm studying and taking notes. Please advise.
Really sweet video on this awesome iPad Air 5.
