One thing I think you get TOTALLY wrong multiple times throughout this video is that Nintendo cares for ‘hype’. They do not. Nintendo has never cared for and in fact, does not approve of hype for their games.

Depending on what you count as a "3D Mario" game, the longest gap is actually Super Mario Galaxy 2 to Super Mario Odyssey, for those who consider 3D World a separate category. This is _still_ longer than the time since Odyssey was released.
I think we could see new Mario in super Mario Bros direct because next year is 40th anniversary and they did do 35th anniversary direct.

@Nin10doland, at this point, I get the hopium for the new 3D Mario flows strongly here, but can’t we get the DK hype going instead? I appreciated that video you did for him a lot because not many people are talking about him for some reason, even with the obvious signs he’s VERY likely gonna be in this coming direct like the theme park expansion and his prominent role in the Mario bros movie. And that’s not to mention 30 years since DKC and 25 since DK64.

If Nintendo wants to hype up and start showing off “switch 2” games then they should just have a short video that quickly shows off parts of their big games for next year and at the end says coming 2025.
In your next TTYD-themed video, can you go over the moments where the game breaks the fourth wall? Be it ranking them or just simply reviewing them?
I don't think so but I do feel that Nintendo is going to go for a sense of massive scope with the next 3D Mario game just like what BOTW did for Zelda, so it very well could be the first open-world entry... if you look at what they did w/ Bowser's Fury and the Super Mario Bros movie, by just looking @ the poster art for the Mario movie and seeing Mario overlooking the Mushroom Kingdom in all it's glory & detail w/ Peach's castle up on the hilltop... you can kind of look at that and envision the most ambitious 3D Mario game to date... going open world with 3D Mario is also a way to diminish or outright omit loading times entirely because all of the past 3D Mario games are segmented, even in Odyssey when you leave a kingdom and fly to a new one... you get a brief cutscene of Mario in the Odyssey flying through the clouds and looking out the porthole and even a brief dialogue bit w/ Cappie inside the Odyssey each time you leave a kingdom.. that is the new Kingdom loading before you land... so the idea would be to decrease those loading times and make the game a more seamless experience... which I think is exactly what we're going to get... even in BOTW/TOTK the game only loads when entering shrines...

Most of the other direct videos were sensible but this is just not possible. I extremely highly doubt that they wouldn’t save the new Mario for the next switch. This game will likely be the system seller since Zelda isn’t due for a new game. Mario and Mario kart and possibly Kirby will probably be the games that sell the new console. Why waste one of them on a console that probably can’t take advantage of the new games graphics

There is also the possibility that the 3D Mario wouldn't be a launch title. neither would Mario Kart. Nintendo hasn't really had a 3d Mario or Mario kart ever be a launch title at least with recent consoles. I can see 3D Mario coming out in Holiday of 2025 same with Mario Kart. 8 Deluxe and Odyssey are still selling and heavy hitters that clearly stood their test of time being relevant for over half a decade (and over a decade for Mario Kart 8!!)
So honestly what sounds more likely, is our first look at the next big hitters will be at the Switch 2 presentation with a release in Late 2025. and I think believe it or not, we could be getting another more casual/fun first party launch title maybe something like a Nintendo Land which would be so cool to bring that back. Something that's a lovable easy game for all existing and new switch owners to pick up and a nice introduction game to the console. And then a launch title that would be for the hard core fans could be like Metroid Prime 4 potentially. big Mario games never really is a launch title.

You can’t really use Breath of the Wild as an example of a game revealing before the console it releases on. You said it yourself, it was meant for Wii U. It was going to be the dedicated Zelda game for Wii U before that console was a flop and they didn’t want the game to be sent out to die, so it also released on Switch.
And I’ve said it plenty of times- no, I do not think there’s much chance they’ll reveal a game before the console it comes out on. I won’t write it off as impossible, but I’d say 10 percent is still a generous chance. They’re not gonna put the Kart before the Yoshi, we’ll get the 3D Mario when we get the console reveal.
Like, if we assume an August reveal for the console at the earliest, that’s still a solid 8 month hype cycle. And even at the latest in October, assuming the reveal is same time frame as Switch, it’s a lower 6 months, give or take, but that’s still comparable to Wonder. And anyone who says Wonder isn’t a big title can count to 13 million and come back to me and say that wasn’t a big number. And no skip a fews, count from 1 to 13 million.
The issue isn’t ever with me they can’t reveal a game for 2025, Legends Z-A already shows we know Switch has stuff for next year. The issue is they’re not gonna reveal a Switch 2 exclusive before we know what the console even IS. And there’s actively zero chance a big open world 3D Mario will be a multi-plat game. They are going to make this a system seller, and it’ll be Switch 2 exclusive.
I think it’s far likelier we get something like Metroid Prime 4 as the one last thing and later learn THAT is multi-plat, since the game was promised for Switch 1, is a known commodity where finally getting news will blow up the internet and generate tons of buzz on social media, and can easily be spun to reveal it’s on Switch 2 with added bells and whistles.
Well no, the reason BotW is multiplat is because development was taking too long and so with the new, at the time, console on the horizon it made much more sense to develop for that instead. What everyone forgets is that the exact same thing actually happened with twilight princess which had numerous delays causing it to be released as a multiplat title when it was originally supposed to be a gamecube exclusive.

I can tell you the answer without even watching the video which is no. Nintendo has already stated this direct will be Switch focused and there won't be any mention of Switch 2 which the next 3D Mario game will launch on.

Why would Nintendo introduce a new fully-fledged Mario game on an exiting system? And I don't think they're going to introduce anything for the next system in this forthcoming Direct. So I'd say there's a completely unlikely chance of any fresh Mario game being announced. Unless it's a remake.

If you would make a video where you talk about *what* this game will look like (what mechanics and gimmicks there are and how the gameplay will be and what Kingdoms there are and so on), it would be really, really nice. But you just talk about the When and this is not just useless, but actually boring.
Besides that I can't agree with you. Nintendo would say that this very important game (if not, the most important game in the next year(s) for them) will be available for their new console. Otherwise they would not advertise their new console, and they definitley want to do so.
