Right on, thank you for this vid! I used to play this on 360 when it was first released, but never beat it before I sold my xbox. Now that this was ported (didn't do a great job on it, but I still LOVE the game either way) over to PC, and everything is EXACTLY the same. I was using a guide from the PS3 version for a few things, and even where it had the treasure chests, and what was in em and everything was exact. I know that's the point of a port, I DO get that, but I guess it was just nostalgic to me because I REALLY enjoyed the game. Now I'm just using my PS4 controller on my PC and playing this game on my desktop just like old times. When I played before I JUST got to where the game opened up and that's where I stopped. Only got to do like 3 or 4 missions so, everything is a HUGE help for me now that I'm getting back to there and wanna get everything all good. Thank you again!!
G R E A T ! :D You see everyone online fighting Adamantoise for Gil and items and they all think they are on top of their game - but Square Enix knows! If you just grab a "Chocobo" "Kwek" and have some patience! You don't even need to fight! Now that's the Art Of War - or as Lighting would say, "Army Of One" :)
fyi. i love this guide! found a ribbon, 2 gold nuggets, 2 gold dust, and 3 stones for weapon upgrades after just 3 trips (about 12 minutes) thx for sharing. now to keep going..
@zenja123. The digging spots change everytime you teleport. I run that route for two reasons. First it gives the most chances to run into a digging spot and secondly it leads to the teleport point. You can run around the whole map and find the five random spots but my route just streamlines the process.
Thank you for this mate, im using this method to get a trapezohedron from the shop (2,000,000 gill). Im gonna then max the Mistilteinn (Vanilles weapon). Which I heard if you dismantle (At max level) gives you 3 Trapezohedron. I already have over 1.2 million in one day so im nearly there :)
for those asking.. you have to get to chapter 11 first. then you just complete the cie'th stone missions 1,2,3,7,12,13, 14... the reward for the 13th mission is the chocobo. google or search youtube some people have vids up.
Thanks dude!useful video.I was able to farm not only the items you said but I also found Entite ring(elem resist),Tetradic crown and tiara and a ribbon(status ailment resist).5 stars!
@rovirovij this gil farming is process intended for people just getting into grand pulse. It gives people the chance to upgrade their weapons to the second tier, or ultima weapons if you are persistant, before they move on with the story. Once you go on with the story you can't come back until chapter 13.
Good guide! I've maxed out the Crystarium now and have a full tier 2 weapons and need Trapezohedron, Dark Matter and shit loads of gil to make some progress.
All the spots don't always contain treasures, it's random, so sometimes you find treasures and sometimes you don't. That also go for which treasures you find, sometimes it's good stuff and sometimes it's not. You have to do the route over and over again for it to be worth it. After running the route, it's important to use the teleport to reload the possibilities to get new treasure from a new try.
Now, making his way to the ring- at 6'6 and 238 pounds- from Hollywood, California.... GOLDDUST! No, wait, wrong game. lol, Nice find. I didn't realize you could reset the digs by teleporting.
Nice run, I'm using it alot but added something to it, for everybody who can affort adamantortoises, in the middle of the run (After "unlocking" (shao)long gui's) there's one close enough to the other chocobo shown in the vid, which can drop traps (Catalyst for tier3 weapons) or platinum ingots (150k gils), so it's really worth the time to kill it and continue the main run right after. It's less consistant too by the fact that you can do some fighting And riding.. :)
@TheAdzster5310 simple tech is to summon idolone and then keep on using debuffing power "Death" at level 3 or 4 can be learnt by vanile. when you summon Adamatortise fells downa dn then you use"Death" .if admantortise get up just retry the battle.
@chouapa You can come back to Gran Pulse in Chapter 13 before the final boss. Also, if you complete missions, the Ci'eth stones will allow you to port back at various points.
@xSSBBxPitofDeathx once youve done mission 15 i think, you recieve the chocobo reins then you can ride them, the most chocobo's are always in the same place on the map so if you look at the map it will have a feather showing where there are.
you can get more with the method of killing the mark on mission 63 as it can drop a platinum ingot or "trap" and you will get a gold nugget each time you do this
currently am using this method as of last night, i was just checking if there wer any vids =p. also note chouapa you can get all of the following all the time no matter what: Millerite, Rhodochosite, cobaltite, chocobo plume, chocobo tail feather, gold dust, dawnlight dew, dusklight dew, gold nugget, moogle puppet, chocobo plush. and supposedly you can only get a limited amount of these: tetradic crown, tetradic tiara, entite ring (60k) and ribbon (havent gotten 1) well gl =p
@JointCracky The weapons you get all suck, in case you haven't noticed. They all have strengths and weaknesses, and you should choose carefully which ones you want to max out/use, but it is not necessarily the case that late-game weapons are better than early-game weapons.
you also get tetrahedric crowns which sell for like 40k but also give 4 instant buffs at the start of the battle, is a useful accsessory to have for boss battles...
i do this all the time, once al my treasures were all gold nuggets , and in one day i got like almost 1 million gil, each run the chocobo finds like 6 treasure, most liekly the treasure is in always around dirt spots anyway, once you do this enough youll remember where they are, there always in the same spot in different times
@jsh020 I found out how to do it... Whats not mentioned in the video is you have to have done all the quest 1-9 at least to even use teleport number 9. I had followed another guide that showed how to complete quest 14 without actually doing every single mission.
I have an optional gil farming technique i use. In the Archylte Steppe-Eastern Tors right by the save file before the 3 shaolong guis. if you go to your right and up that hill ull see a shaolong gui. kill it then go straight down and you will see another one. kill him too and go back to where you was and that same shaolong gui you just killed respawn. When you have 3TP i would fight the adamantoise with the summon for fast results. reconmended strongest players, collecter cat. and rest strength.
The following are one time only treasures: 1st Time Digging 1 x Gold Nugget 5th Dig 1 x Tetradic Crown 10th Dig 1 x Tetradic Tiara 15th Dig 1 x Entite Ring 20th Dig 1 x Ribbon
Hi there , thanks for the video , it helps a lot , i have somre problem , im doing the same circuit as you but i cant find the trasures in the same spots , are this things random or am i doing something wrong? THANKS n.n
Cieth stones that are laying down on the ground will stay that way until you beat other missions. Also those people that complain not getting certain items; you do realize that its RANDOM. If it wasn't then the game would be easy. If you want a easy game go play peggle. just saying.
Thanks for the tip :) Also how many tiers are there for each weapon, I have used scarletite on some weapons and maxed them out but can I use a transformer thing to change them to a new teir of weapon?
@redblazerpea I have mixed feelings about it. It's a decent system, but it obscures how good a given weapon actually is or isn't. I had been warned about the system prior to playing it, so I looked at a weapons FAQ to figure out what I wanted, but it ultimately meant waiting until Chap. 12 to get any EXP for Hope or Lightning, and that sucked. :( Normally, you'd expect to get gradually stronger weapons in a FF game, but this game is another story.
roles i have were syn/syn/syn sab/sab/sab rav/rav/rav com/com/com med/med/med sen/sen/sen cast haste then switch to sent quick cus of quake then switch to sab and daze him. while he is dazed buff yourself while keeping his stagger up then go for rav till 999.99% stagger then finish him with com role. If his stagger goes away and you havent kill him yet use either snow or fang's limit. If he's till alive then repeat the steps.
@kgriffi22222 I know mate, but im no where near strong enough (Crystarium Level 8) to fight them yet. I know you need over 10k hp alone just to survive their attacks. I just want to spend some time upgrading some weapons for a couple of characters before i progress further in Chapter 11. Once again kudos for the tips :)
@nzbitemyhead ya need to do mission 1-13 to unlock mission 14 complete mission 14 and you'll be able to ride them and they'll spawn throughout the game
I have terrible luck >< I went on a few runs and only got 1 gold nugget. That was the only thing worth selling that I got and I burned it all instantly on Components to upgrade my Axis Blade and I still need 220k Gil to get the Component to level it up...
is there any sense in maxing the lvl of the weapons ? cause i read that you get the Dragoonlance after some missions and Lionheart in chapter 13 . btw. if you got the Dragoonlance , could you tell me when you get it because i've read you get it like after the 47th mission....
@TheAdzster5310 i did and doing Gill Farming by beating Admantorties and Admant cild, which gets me gold dust 1500g and Platinum ingot 150,000 g . got ultimate weapons and got around 30 odd upgrades. but this trophy really need some gill grinding.
@chouapa i tried your trick but for some reason the map dont reset, i mean when i try to run 2nd time the exact route i cant dig same spots and i did exactly as i your video and yes i have done mission 14 and 17
Hi! I just got to Gran Pulse, and I'm starting with the Cieth missions. When do chocobos start to show? Can anyone help me? Thanks! Greetings from Mexico.

thx for sharing. now to keep going..
Thank you for this little route. It's pretty useful.
Also, i kinda like your spirit. You don't seem to cuss when something doesn't go your way.
Thanks. Was searching for a method to farm Gils more effectively than the Teijin tower CP/Gils farming spot. I'll definitly try this one.
this is an awesome route, cheers for explaining!
Thx for the vid my friend. I had no idea i can dig up treasure with the chocobo.
Thank you for this guide... it really helped me! I'll keep watchin your video over and over till i remember the circuit :P
@zenja123. The digging spots change everytime you teleport. I run that route for two reasons. First it gives the most chances to run into a digging spot and secondly it leads to the teleport point. How can 8 people thumbs down this nice helpful video guide?
Lol, maybe b/c the chocobo wouldn't let them hitch a ride...
Nice vid once again

by far the best video for Gil thanks for sharing
Good guide! I've maxed out the Crystarium now and have a full tier 2 weapons and need Trapezohedron, Dark Matter and shit loads of gil to make some progress.
just a little tip the chocobo will turn its head in the direction of the treasure if you get lost
this really helped me out after one run i was able to beat a king behemoth
Cool dude..... first try i got 2 gold nuggets....and at that chocobo pond there was 3 exclamation points in a row...thnx man
Great guide. I been doing this aimlessly lately, so this should help out a good strategy for me. Thanks a lot!
thanks, I'll try this out once I'm able to ride chocobos

right now I have 12 million gil, 30 trapezphedron, 30 somethin' dark matter, 18 platinum ingots and 20 gold nuggets

Yes, this is an awesome tip for attaining gold... Thanks...
lol i just ran this and found three gold nuggets and a tetradic crown awesome route and its also helpful that its ends with a teleport stone.
There are 20 treasure locations all-in-all and there are 5 active locations each time you go to Archylte Steppe.
Nice circuit dude!
@JointCracky
The weapons you get all suck, in case you haven't noticed. They all have strengths and weaknesses, and you should choose carefully which ones you want to max out/use, but it is not necessarily the case that late-game weapons are better than early-game weapons.
@pauly202 when your weap is at the star lvl u can use a specific stone to eveolve to tier two and then again after to ultima weapon
Thanks for this guide. You are awesome.
@goopersosis no just 2 missions number 14 and number 17 but you have to defeat missions 1 through 12 tomake 14 and 17 appear.
you also get tetrahedric crowns which sell for like 40k but also give 4 instant buffs at the start of the battle, is a useful accsessory to have for boss battles...
There are 20 possible treasure location on the map but only 5 is active at any given time. You can reset the treasure location by re-entering the map.
good system..one of the best ive seen..
thanks

@IonControl OK, not sure why I mentioned CH 13 since you already did. Meant the Ci'eth stones... :P
thanks man just the info i wanted!!!

@jakeprobst Like... The titnan's optional tournament thing? Or like the mission marks... Or Vercigetorix thing or... the 3 tornberries...?
This is awesome!
@L4dyPaiNe Thanks for the tip! Did not know that.
Very helpful thanks for the tip!
The following are one time only treasures:
1st Time Digging 1 x Gold Nugget
5th Dig 1 x Tetradic Crown
10th Dig 1 x Tetradic Tiara
15th Dig 1 x Entite Ring
20th Dig 1 x Ribbon

great, this will work out great!
you can skip those dig sequences by pressing start, then select.

Once again kudos for the tips :)
I am going have to try this one. Right now I am currently in the tower fighting Musharum (can't spell it) and getting the seeds and 6K CP
i loving the supper 3D chocobo's
@juki012
No, you always get a gold nugget on your first dig. No luck involved.
the battle system made me think of star ocean for the ps2 in some aspects
@nzbitemyhead ya need to do mission 1-13 to unlock mission 14 complete mission 14 and you'll be able to ride them and they'll spawn throughout the game
Thanks for the tip homie
awsome, helped out allot.
Thank u very much...It helped me a lot!!
The spots are random. Thats just one of the spots that may appear. Just keep following the route
@Ezekiel62591 you sure your using the right mission marks, you need to have beaten at least 2 of the YELLOW missions to teliport
It doesnt work for me, at the start when you take a right to go t the first dig spot the bird doesnt react when Im at that spot, I dont understand
good vid, i'll do this a few times, making gil is a pain in FFXIII grrr :)
You are all set after mission 14. 17 gets unlocked.
I'm trying this....I've been farming Adamantoise at Eden, post game and the drop rate is an absolute joke!
You need to watch the whole video, you teleport and the end to the starting point.
did u know that the chocobo points it's head toward the treasure.
I have terrible luck >< I went on a few runs and only got 1 gold nugget. That was the only thing worth selling that I got and I burned it all instantly on Components to upgrade my Axis Blade and I still need 220k Gil to get the Component to level it up...
Not true. It may be that there is only one GUARANTEED gold nugget, but you will still get them randomly.
is there any sense in maxing the lvl of the weapons ? cause i read that you get the Dragoonlance after some missions and Lionheart in chapter 13 . btw. if you got the Dragoonlance , could you tell me when you get it because i've read you get it like after the 47th mission....
Did you teleport back to the beginning? This resets the map. I have found lots of gold nuggets this way
Nice.. Thank you.. What chapter is that in BTW?
sometimes the treasure looks like one of the bacugan things lol
@TheAdzster5310 i did and doing Gill Farming by beating Admantorties and Admant cild, which gets me gold dust 1500g and Platinum ingot 150,000 g . got ultimate weapons and got around 30 odd upgrades. but this trophy really need some gill grinding.
Brilliant
Teleport doesn't work for me.... It just brings up the quest and says "You have already completed this mission. Would you like to reattempt it?"
3:42 f***king cactuar! STAY OF MY CHOCOBO!!!
btw: this vid is very helpfull...
what is up with that catuar by first treasure in video?
@chouapa i tried your trick but for some reason the map dont reset,
i mean when i try to run 2nd time the exact route i cant dig same spots
and i did exactly as i your video and yes i have done mission 14 and 17
I did this like 2hrs ago and I got the gold nugget at my first dig, talk about lucky
this will help me thank you!!!!
@johncabott It's chapter 11 on Gran Pulse.
Hi! I just got to Gran Pulse, and I'm starting with the Cieth missions. When do chocobos start to show? Can anyone help me?
Thanks!
Greetings from Mexico.

I just got 3 freakin gold nuggets! In a row! First time ever so that's like what..180,000 gil or something? Lol
