Somebody commented on a previous upload of this track “Congratulations. Your Quest is over.” I’ve associated that phrase and that feeling with this song ever since.
The realization sets only after you've said your goodbyes. Sounds and sights of distant tears and hugs past are now silently replaced with the sound of a single engine and a view of the long road ahead. You think for a moment about the life you held a short moment ago, but its now deep in your pocket. No need to check if its still there. You can still feel its weight on your body and you need to keep your eyes on the motorway. The sunset is beckoning; the purple-pink rays of tomorrow await wistfully for your arrival.
@@hdhrdfsrkgh maybe you should listen to a song called "Rolling down the street, in my katamari". I don't know if you read it, but Raysuu mentions it in his comment.
The entire song gives me some serious chills. The beginning, especially, is like a massage for my brain. And it makes me feel sad for a time I can’t even remember...it’s all just really beautiful
Fearofdark is one of those rare artists that puts emotion where there isn't, it's an enigma of color, like describing color to a blind man. Motorway the album is a masterpiece, it's just good.
Probably the best song of the whole set. For a song with no lyrics, there's a ton of emotion here. It's rare that there's an almost 8-minute song that you always listen to in it's entirety when it comes on, but this one one of the real few. There's just so much going on here -- it's calming, nostalgic, kind of mournful in a way. It's hard to describe other than a masterpeice, a real rarity in a genre that doesn't seem to emphasize that kind of feeling very often at all. Bits and pieces of it give me a Pokemon Gold/Silver vibe, I'm not sure why. It kind of reminds me of the National Park theme, I guess because Pokemon Gold/Silver is a very nostalgic chiptune-centric game for me, and that song kind of has just a tiny bit of this same vibe to it. I don't know, but I sure love it.
I personally have heard more music without lyrics that make me feel a certain way than songs with lyrics. I always feel the lyrics are distracting from the actual song... Eh I'm probably a dumbo
@@nojot0 I agree with the non-lyric songs being more powerful than lyriced ones, and I personally believe it's a result of the emotions or words of the composer not being directly spelt out to you, rather you're responsible for visualising, potentially interpreting and truly empathising with the composer's intentions on the work (plus not having the emotions directly spelt out creates ambiguity where you can interpret what kind of mood the music spells for you).
@@v1c-was-her3 You also have to factor in that words are generally distracting and it is harder to just relax and let a lyrical song sink in than it is with a non-lyrical track. Though, as with everything I find there are exceptions. For example, the songs in the OSTs of Supergiant Games are phenomenal in the way they preserve ambiguity and let the listener just come along for the ride (their instrumental tracks are also wonderful).

Probably one if not THE best song composed by this great artist. I'm still listening to this very often! It's an incredibly emotional piece of music to me.
I'm listening to this song, and images of my best friends flash through my head. I think about all the times where I acted for personal gain rather than for their happiness, I think about all the times where I didn't support them, I think of all the times when I was not a very good person at all. I think of those times, and I remember that, despite all of that, they stuck with me. Instead of leaving me behind, they lifted me up. They changed me, made me learn that what I was doing was wrong, and made me into the person I am today. Without them, I would still be a nobody with no empathy and no compassion. They truly love me, and that is all I could ever ask for. I am more than thankful for them.
WHAT? This was almost EIGHT minutes long? You know, I am trying a bit to get into this chiptune-business, but seeing how one can make an eight minute song just with (seemingly, of course) letters and numbers, amazes me. In the beginning, I could follow, see where the melody is and I'm also thinking "With a lot of practice, I could do that myself". But after around minute 2, I lost all orientation. Apart from the missing info that could be in each "box" (or maybe it doesn't, I have no idea, but it would make things easier), those videos are good to learn, to see, how one could make such songs themselves, without blatantly copying, of course. You could watch these videos at least five times, paying attention to different elements each time in terms of rhythm, harmony and sound, and you would learn something every time.

there is some hope somewhere across the motorway. dont quit your journey just because you think it came to a stop. there's always a future to go towards, so keep heading for your best life everyone. dont cry over whatever hardship happens. we've all gone through a lot and its been a tough day, but keep trailing down the motorway.
this song gives me this sense of closure in a sort of bittersweet way. its like moving away from a town that you have a lot of memories in but never truly belonged in, and slowly coming to the resolution that even though you wont be remembered or missed you still have the freedom to start somewhere new that might be more worthwhile. its like living a life having never made friends but not losing any hope that youll find something to be a part of eventually. the hope is there, even if its covered in a crushing pain of loss for something you never had to begin with. you became the faint memory of a few people and then disappeared, having never impacted anybody's life, but still having a chance to thrive at some point.

yup. You and a hundred others think this too.
you always amaze me with each track, i love it. this one feels like an ending song of a video game after going through a long journey or something.

This is definitely the best song of the album.

I played this when my dad came out from hospital after COVID-19, I felt at peace, like all my problems were solved, and they were.
damn. nice.
Still cringe.
An emotional track. Melancholic, serene, gives a feeling of farewells. Definitely could be the credits song for some true-ending path in a game.
10/10 for Track 10.
A cringey comment. Cringey, cringey, gives a feeling of cringe. Definitely could be the cringiest comment for some comment section on a video.

i was looking for this song over 2 MONTHS NOW and because of youtubes anoying recommendation, they didnt show me it. so i had to look trough a really long watch history INCLUDING OVER 1k SHORTS just to find this one song and relax to it.
this song is truly great and i dont think ill ever lose it again because not only is the song relaxing, its also finding it relaxing. i barely get recommended this by youtube so id have to manually play it but @Fearofdark,
thanks for making this music.
it reminds me alot of me playing other old games and mostly makes me want to create stuff more because of how motivating and great this song is,
thanks :D
That higher descending countermelody at 4:59.....🥰🥰🥰
The beginning of this track seems to be a beautiful chip tune re-imagining of Sam Barber’s “adagio for strings”. Great track!

there is some hope somewhere across the motorway. dont quit your journey just because you think it came to a stop. there's always a future to go towards, so keep heading for your best life everyone. dont cry over whatever hardship happens. we've all gone through a lot and its been a tough day, but keep trailing down the motorway.
This feels like a brasilian love song from the late 90s.
this song is straight-up beautiful. reminds me of better days
this comment is straight up cringe. Reminds me of hell.
this song gives me this sense of closure in a sort of bittersweet way. its like moving away from a town that you have a lot of memories in but never truly belonged in, and slowly coming to the resolution that even though you wont be remembered or missed you still have the freedom to start somewhere new that might be more worthwhile. its like living a life having never made friends but not losing any hope that youll find something to be a part of eventually. the hope is there, even if its covered in a crushing pain of loss for something you never had to begin with. you became the faint memory of a few people and then disappeared, having never impacted anybody's life, but still having a chance to thrive at some point.
me too
This is my favorite song from the album. I hope to hear more song like this in the future.
