it actually holds quite a lot of meaning in the lore. in the first game, the moon that Gibby ruled from was not a natural sattelite but something he had made to rule from. The sign of the Full Moon probably became a symbol of oppression in anyone who opposed Gibby. So then there's Wayne. The sign of the waning crescent, the image of that power on its way out so we can finally have the new moon of freedom.

I just randomly found this and this is one of the coolest and most interesting game tracks ive ever heard. And after reading through the comments i 100% have to play these games
Oddly enough, years later i am reminded of this music by Splatoon 3's final boss of all things... Both music pieces demonstrate a audible battle between two sides, as it transitions gradually from the villain to the heroes. This music, being Gibby's theme, starts off entirely chaotic and ever-changing much like his body, and his desired vision of the world. But, as the battle continues, a certain new tune starts to cover up his desired chaos, with a new, more distinct and rhythmic beat of a guitar (and occasionally drums). In a way, this is like the musical embodiment of the desire for identity that Wayne, Snomsosa, Dedusmuln and Pongorma have. They temporarily overwrite most of Gibby's chaotic instruments, and change the music to give it a distinct identity, instead of letting it blend amongst the countless combinations of chaotic tracks that we certainly heard a lot of in Hylics 1. It's literally a battle, going on in both combat and music, fitting since the team also act as a coordinated musical band when together, and Gibby would rather melt it all into chaos. Chuck Salamone, you did a fantastic job of making this music have such a distinct difference to most if not all of the other Hylics 1 and 2 music. And, in a way, we also have the team to thank for it, and Mason Lindroth to thank for the world that this music has been shaped upon. Everything has come together in such a perfect combination, for such a good climax to a mystical and deep series.
This has a really strange, interesting feeling. Most of it is kind of weirdly ominous, but when things really kick into high gear at 1:55 it feels like you get hit by an absolute wall of pressure. The intense part of the song literally makes me imagine Gibby bearing down on top of you, like a huge, powerful presence almost physically crushing you with its weight.
As someone who's played countless RPG's (both traditional JRPG's and the quirky EarthBound-inspired variety,) Gibby as a boss was ridiculously easy, but that didn't stop him from being what I think is probably the most enjoyable RPG final boss I've ever faced off against.
I just realized Fancy Meat Computer could just be another way of describing a brain. Which, well, could be a good way of describing many of the fleshy things in this game, including Gibby himself, at least in his final form. It could _also_ be a reference to how Gibby is the _brain_ or mind behind the action of the Hylemxylem.
This song first caught my attention when I was watching forsen speedrun minecraft and he had this in his doomer/zoomer playlist. Loved this song so much that I bought Hylics 1 & 2, desperately waiting to get to this song and I find out its the Gibbys final boss music. This was such a fun rabbit hole to get into and I'm looking forward to what Chuck & Mason cook up in the future!
god im such a fucking sucker for pipe organs in boss themes and theyre utilized fucking EXCELLENTLY here. i think the complete 180 in musical tone really emphasizes the stakes. most of the other themes are relatively laid back, but this one is just pressure incarnate. and the organ provides a great, solid backing to the sort of 'wall of sound' that gives this fight its tension. that and having a giant hulking pseudo-god stomping towards you probably helps
I just found out about you and your art 2 days ago. Instantly picked up Hylics 2 on steam. I just got the airship. I love this game, it's music, it's art. This is probably the most soul I've ever seen put into a game. It is definitely the most unique. I love this game.
I appreciate you! I loved composing and performing/recording this piece! It’s very “Rob Zombie,” by design. Mason wanted a “slow goth punk anthem” for this final battle. It is evident that people really enjoy this one, which is so gratifying! Thanks for listening/supporting us.
I've already commented once but i seriously can't get over how good of a final boss theme this is, 1:35 really does it for me with its chord progression.
Gibby: Oh? You're approaching me? Instead of running away, you're coming right to me? Wayne: I can't beat the glands out of you without getting closer. Gibby: Oh really...then get as close as you need to.
ok coming back here after like 2 years of me discovering this game just to say wow. *wow.* when i say this game stuck with me i Meant that. inspired me, shaped me, all of the good verbs. it’s that media i just keep coming back to, and this rippin’ soundtrack is suuuch a big part of that. wish i had the energy to go into detail about why i love this soundtrack so much, but alas. i’m Sleepy. youve probably seen me before chuck, hi, sorry again for inviting you to a groupchat that one time, but most of all thaaaank you for quite possibly changing my life
this exemplary musical track accompanied by the preternatural gesticulations of the imposing space-tyrant certainly succeeds in galvanizing my fancy meat computer, sterling toil to mason lindroth and his cohort chuck salamone for beholding us such an ethereal experience
This is definitely one of those songs I find myself coming back to every now and then. It’s an incredibly unique final boss, for an incredibly unique game. The wobbly guitar sound gives it a goofy or almost playful feeling, while also keeping you on edge by not staying on a set note. 0:00 - 0:08 makes me feel like I’m submerged under water with the music just barely reaching me. 0:10 - 0:30 is an explosion of musical euphoria. You are no longer submerged under that water; you feel like you’re in the middle of a concert. 0:30 - 0:50 A minor melody starts to play that I would associate with Gibby. The drums become more prominent and their beat becomes menacing. 0:50 - 1:11 The bass line becomes more sinister while also having this “cool” or “confident” vibe, as Gibby feels his victory is assured with his newfound “omnipotence”. 1:11 - 1:15 A brief moment of respite where the pressure lets up a bit. The notes from the very beginning of the song repeat for one line, letting you know the music is about to get more intense, as well as the fight. 1:15 - 1:36 Sounds more confident and I believe it is in Major key, it gives me the vibe that Wayne’s party is getting the upper hand against Gibby. 1:36 - 1:56 Wayne and his friends’ strength is starting to become too much for Gibby to handle 1:56 Triumph
I can't believe I only recently got around to playing this game, and the soundtrack completely blows me away in such a way I'm not sure any other video game soundtrack quite has. The game's a visual treat and the music's an auditory treat. There's never an urge to skip to the "best part" because the entire thing is the best part; each track from beginning to end is a journey that pulls you in and holds your attention, but not in an overwhelming way. I love the motif usage, and I'm just so floored by how fascinating it all sounds- the textures, the composition, the vibes. And this track is perfect for facing off against such a climactic and intimidating character. Definitely in my all-time favorite soundtracks for things.
I always thought Gibby's appearance in this fight was a pun on his name, which was originally picked as a pun on moon phase like Wayne, and making a different pun of giblets, a term in games for chunks of meat or robot parts or what have you that burst out of killed enemies. Something we see with each enemy we defeat in this game itself, Gibby included
wouldn't a fancy meat computer be a person? Also I swear in my life I had a dream like a year ago where I wrote this in the comments of a video with the same picture wtf
Specifically a person's brain, as the other parts of a person's body would all fulfill the roles of different machines. It's interesting to note that the human brain, to this day, is still regarded as being possibly the most sophisticated computer there is. This is also illustrated in Gibby's move Teardown, where a computer is stripped of its shell to reveal a brain, which then forms a hand to attack you.
Thank you for making this pleasing sensation of sound available for acquisition by monetary matter. This is easily one of the most supreme last boss auditories I have ever had my ears be attuned to!
Mason, I loved this game. It's the exact kind of bizarre and engaging that I enjoy. I'd love to see a third, if what Odozier said at the end is a hint of things to come.
@@chuck_salamone It's definitely the bass that's AiC, maybe not so much the higher guitar and horror movie sting tones. But now that you say it like that, the rest of it sounds like other 90s rock tropes trying to coexist and it creates an interesting discord. Thank you for the god-tier music!
This song alone has made Hylics 2's OST one of my favorite game soundtracks of all time. The other songs are great too, but nothing beats an amazing final boss theme.
ah yes my favouritist final boss ost ever. feels like all the leitmotifs and instruments are coalescing and fusing together to create this nerve-racking, loud, and muscle pumping track. the drums definitely add to the energy. and then it just escalates and gets even MORE intense; i'm pretty sure this is the loudest song in the entire game. beatuifful, showsotpijg

I have zero desire to play the game but this song has me in a chokehold
Yo, play it!
With love,

This has a really strange, interesting feeling. Most of it is kind of weirdly ominous, but when things really kick into high gear at 1:55 it feels like you get hit by an absolute wall of pressure. The intense part of the song literally makes me imagine Gibby bearing down on top of you, like a huge, powerful presence almost physically crushing you with its weight.
By design.
@@chuck_salamone Late reply, but it's quite the honour to have the artist himself confirm my observations! Thanks for making this awesome song!
I don't know why weeks later I only just really processed how freaking awesome this song is, but it's incredible.
brilokuloj I instantly fell in love it after hearing it for the first time.
As someone who's played countless RPG's (both traditional JRPG's and the quirky EarthBound-inspired variety,) Gibby as a boss was ridiculously easy, but that didn't stop him from being what I think is probably the most enjoyable RPG final boss I've ever faced off against.
this feels like the crown jewel of the whole OST, a diamond atop a mountain of gold
Haha, cheers. It’s a fitting end for sure. Can’t wait to release more Hylics related musical content.
this song literally got me into hylics it randomly played on spotify i learnt it was a game and had an amazing experience
The physics rubber duck in Gibby's lair is hilarious to me
One of the few boss themes I've heard that actually gives me goosebumps. Love it.
Yo, I'm glad you enjoy it!
I can seriously appreciate just how intimidating this tune alone is. I get goosebumps every so often when I listen.
Make me want to act like a villain
Villain it up, homie.
Theme song of a man who has no idea he's about to get bodied by 4 full-power Bombo-Genesis attacks

I think it might be a bunch of gestures that the characters make when they preform.... well, Gestures, but I’m not 100% sure.
The funk is killing me. Chuck, you genius!
I appreciate you! I loved composing and performing/recording this piece! It’s very “Rob Zombie,” by design. Mason wanted a “slow goth punk anthem” for this final battle. It is evident that people really enjoy this one, which is so gratifying! Thanks for listening/supporting us.

I'm still coming back a year later and listening to this soundtrack, so good I put it in my jogging playlist.
I've already commented once but i seriously can't get over how good of a final boss theme this is, 1:35 really does it for me with its chord progression.
I’m glad you enjoy that section!
Gibby: Oh? You're approaching me? Instead of running away, you're coming right to me?
Wayne: I can't beat the glands out of you without getting closer.
Gibby: Oh really...then get as close as you need to.
Gibby: starts walking towards Wayne.
Wayne: ...wut

Just finished Hylics 2 and goddamn. Wonderful game Mason, and wonderful music Chuck. Randomly generated text/10
Thanks for playing! So glad you enjoyed it.
this exemplary musical track accompanied by the preternatural gesticulations of the imposing space-tyrant certainly succeeds in galvanizing my fancy meat computer, sterling toil to mason lindroth and his cohort chuck salamone for beholding us such an ethereal experience
Thank you for playing/listening!
This has some climactic "end of the world" vibes to it, and damn is it funky. Love this whole soundtrack so far.
1:36 - 1:56 Wayne and his friends’ strength is starting to become too much for Gibby to handle
1:56 Triumph
I appreciate this analysis so much! You totally got it, too! Thank you so much for listening.
@@chuck_salamone Ofc man! Your music is fantastic, and i had a lot of fun analyzing it! ^^
God this is SO heavy
I love it
This game came from the "fancy meat computer" that is Mason Lindroths brain
THANK YOU for the kind words!
Mildly Entertain the Breadth of Void, That one's Gland may be exalted.
(This song and this comment have been cursed by Gibby.)
Void from Berserk
Pulsating from beneath the Lumen , vibrations Vividly increase .
Damn him and damn his hylemxylem. His truncated wormhole will forever puncture the precipice
Misfortunate. But not ungood.

wouldn't a fancy meat computer be a person? Also I swear in my life I had a dream like a year ago where I wrote this in the comments of a video with the same picture wtf

@@Toasterloaf you guys are finally back. we missed you.
Didn't expect this to have over 100k views and I'm very happy to see it does.
I love the 70s rock vibes from this. In fact, I get that from a lot of the rest of the soundtrack. The psychedellic art style of the game also helps.
:can you hear a nightmare ?
:yes, yes you can
It’s so disgusting I love it
This is the most final boss theme yet not final boss theme song I've ever heard and I love it.

Best present ever
This sounds like an Alice in Chains song almost.
Thank you for that. I tried to channel as much “90’s EVERYTHING” into this track as best as I could.
Chuck Salamone You did an AMAZING job on this track!
Starting to hear a bit of Queens of the Stoneage in there too, like that one song from the end of Rated R.
I used to be afraid of Claymation, what you've done with it has actually taken away that fear.
