Love DSO. They mix a lot of other genres than just Swing and metal. Latin, opera, classical music, russian folk, polka, walts, disco............. Here is a list: "guerella lament" "Lucy fears the morning star" Vodka inferno" "superhero Jagganath" "Voodoo amour" "war painted valentine" "bedlam sticks"
LMAO I have never heard this before and I keep tapping my feet to it I like it I'm a big metalhead but this is awesome 🔥🔥🔥🔥❤️☮️💯 instead of head banging I was feet banging lmao
It happened to me too. The first time I listened to DSO, they were opening a concert of Children of Bodom. I ended up dancing and since then, I'm a fan.
My first song of theirs I ever heard was Balrog Boogie and just... christ that was a crazy song. I love how different and weird and awesome they are. Very much the same kind of reaction you're talking about though.
It's worth to hear more of them. They don't break the borders of different music genres. They put them to other places somehow. Only a few bands are good in this.
This one is vaguely reminiscent of Sing Sing Sing, as interpreted by Benny Goodman's swing orchestra with Gene Krupa on the drum kit. I love the connection with the past.
I love this music!!! Really nice break from the typical metal sound where everything is very dark and serious. They made something fun and enjoyable, which I would suggest to a non metalhead because it's not going to scare them away
Love me some DSO I hope you get to do more. I recommend Justice from Saint Mary. It's different and you can see how they can change from song to song in style both musically and vocally.
Can't believe I didn't find this earlier, but good react. I haven't heard their full catalog, but imo DSO's best song is still Exit Strategy of a Wrecking Ball, it's more metal than swing and the mix is much more my taste compared to the wackiness here.
I also remember him reacting to one of their songs before (i think it might have been ’Balrog Boogie’ but i’m not sure), maybe a year or two ago, but the video is gone. If i where to guess i would asume its gone because it was taken down by YT for copyright reasons. RUclipss copyright system is a bit messy and some chanels and videos can be targeted while others don’t and its possible that YT caught that video and struck it down for violating the sites copyright policy or whatever.

Never heard of "jazz metal" as a genre. But if this is a good example then I know I don't like it. As a musician I can appreciate it as an art form but I can't stand listening to it. LOL! The rolling fuzz bass and vocal distortions just grate on my nerves. It probably wouldn't be so viciously grating on my entire nervous system if I didn't know what good old fashioned "Swing" sounds like (which I LOVE, by the way). So, thank you very much but no thank you very much. ;-)
It’s not really metal at all, I’m not sure where T got that from, other than the fact that it has distorted guitars. This is more like swing with a dark, macabre, chaotic tone to it, and a slightly modern twist. It has that vibe of that classic depiction of the devil as a well-dressed, charismatic smooth-talker hanging out at a 1940s jazz club. I like it though, I think they nailed what they were going for perfectly.
@@Crunchatize_Me_Senpai they are from Sweden and I think they call it metal themself. Some of their songs are closer to metal but you're right. That has not been my first idea when I heard their music too.
This is avant-garde metal, wich is a very experimental form of metal, in this specific song the swing element is strong, but they mix a lot of other stuff in their songs. But jazz metal don't exist really as a thing. Some technical death metal bands have very strong jazz elements like Cynic, but they are not classified as Jazz metal, and the jazz approach is 100% different than this song, so there are no representative songs about jazz-metal, everyone is very different.
This band just doesn't get enough love, I can't say have even 1 bad song in all of their albums

Great list. Exit strategy of a wrecking ball is a good one as well.
Bedlam Sticks is the craziest coolest song ever.
I have this album and several others by this band. Very talented bunch of musicians.

I'd love to see a reaction to malign monologues from their newest album.
Where’s the other reaction you did? I looked it up but I couldn’t find it. This is interesting for sure.
