She is one lucky lady to have spent an afternoon with Jacque cooking, tasting, sharing and enjoying a glass of wine and yet to leave with his Beautiful book. A day to never forget!! Wish I were her for a day!!
I could not cook anything but boxed chocolate pudding and one or two very simple things when I married. First I watched Julia, who taught me homemade stock and boeuf bourguignon…and then Jacques, who made cooking so much fun.
I spent many a Saturday morning glued to my local PBS channel watching Chef Pepin create magic. I adored his Cooking in Concert series with Julia Child! I could watch him cook all day!
I love that man so much! He has taught me so much I’m 53 and still watch him everyday. I have all his cook books and I owe every single compliment on my cooking to JP!! God be with you Jacque 90’s right around the corner. I pray we have you for many more years.
I had the absolute honor of meeting Jacques pippin and shared a glass of wine with him he is a French and an American treasure and he is pure class and a legend chef 🍷
I am incredibly jealous. What an honor to have a page in his guest book. I was fortunate enough to shake his hand a a food show in Monterey/ Carmel i think it was 2007
I have been watching him for over 30 years and I still learn something new every time I watch him…..he is the essence of being a United States Citizen….
One of my favorite treasured memories is the afternoon I spent with Jacques Pepin in Orange County when he was promoting one of his cookbooks. He was absolutely charming! ♥️
I love this guy.I have made a few of his recipes after having recently subscribed to his RUclips channel. These are my first "real" cooking experiences despite being 60 years old. Came out great. Told my wife about a vacant fully equipped former restaurant /building for sale at a reasonable price nearby..... I told her we would call it Cafe Pepin.
The Master says " the greatest pleasure is to cook for a friend or family " What a humble guy and what and astonishing career Jacque has had ! Cheers to you Chef and Happy New Years !!!!
Chef Pepin is a treasure. I look up to this Master Chef so much and I never even met the man. His cooking and his approach to food inspires me as a professional cook.
What an inspiration Jacques life has been and still is. I well remember Howard Johnson's menus. There were many items I seriously loved. The fried clam rolls for one. He once mentioned that those large clams that were used in preparing them have been fished out. It's a shame because they were delicious. For roadside dining HJ was my place to go for a great meal. That was in the 1960's and it would be great if they could be reopened. I think they would be a hit today. Thank you Jacques, we all love you.
OMG! Though nothing could beat a lobster roll or clam roll from out on the cape, those Howard Johnson’s were the next best thing… And the hot fudge sundaes decadence! I still remember traveling down the highway and seeing that bright orange roof… You always know you had some good food in store.
Imagine turning down being JFK’s White House chef to work for Howard Johnson…because he could learn mass production techniques and modern marketing. Smart guy…
Some of my favorite recipes my mother has made she learned when she took cooking classes taught by his mother many, many years ago. We also had the pleasure of eating at Gloria’s one summer. Delightful man.
What a treat to spend time with JP!! I would love that. I have learned so much from him. About food, cooking and more important about life and how to live well.
This guy is the best, I’ve been watching for years and years. I love him hunting for edibles in the yard with the iconic Opinel pocket knife, from France, of course.
Grew up watching him on KQED in San Francisco. Met both he and Julia Childs at his booking signing in San Francisco in the early 90's. He is in person just as he is on tv, just a very humble and warm person!!!!!
@@bartonpercival3216 one thing amazed me when I was a new empty nester in San Francisco… No matter what veggies I picked up at the handy vegetable stand near my bus stop…Jacques would feature at least one of them within a day on his KQED show. He made my meals so much more varied.
When was this filmed as the man was born in 1935 making him almost 90? My mom had a huge crush on him. We met him in 1977 he came and did a cooking class at a cookware store in California. I was 17 and he was so gracious. All the women who also worked at the store were fawning all over him. As a teenager I was a bit embarrassed by my mom and all these women behavior. He made an effort to acknowledge everyone. Showed me how to properly clean a copper pot. Something I will never forget.
Jacques Pepin is an absolute legend in the culinary world. I can remember watching him (along w/ other greats such as Julia Child, the Frugal Gourmet, Paul Prudhomme & Justin Wilson the Cajun Cook) on PBS when I was a little kid in the early 80's. His food always looks so decadent & extravagant but he makes it feel easy to prepare w/ simple, accessible ingredients. I'd so love to have him cook for me one day. ♥🍽♥
Thank you soo much for sharing this sit down video with Jacques!!! Really really a nice gentleman and a great chef!!😊 I have his cooking book called the Quick & Simple!! It is so nice!!!😊😊 Finally, Happy New Years to everyone!!😊
There is no TV celebrity cook like Jacques. He is so genuine and a true master chef. He puts the TV cooks like Ramsay, Guy Fieri, Rachel Ray, and the worst of all Bobby Flay, to shame.
@@nostalgicfragments Yeah, and the Statue of Liberty would look better in ripped jeans. Jacques digs his own mushrooms, is a champion forager…and could find a way to make tree bark edible. His legacy is secure.

I love the little nugget from his late wife Gloria in a rare interview. She admitted that she had faked her skiing credentials when she saw him when he was a young…and very handsome.. ski instructor. She was an accomplished skier, but…hmmm.

My favorite chef in the world. Has been for years. So enjoyable to hear him speak of love of food and cooking and visit his beautiful garden.
He's such a class act. Always humble, always kind.
I know that Jacques is French, but he's really an American treasure!
he's been an American citizen for more than 50 years
I could not cook anything but boxed chocolate pudding and one or two very simple things when I married. First I watched Julia, who taught me homemade stock and boeuf bourguignon…and then Jacques, who made cooking so much fun.
he is the reason i can cook, not just cook, but cook well. anyone can cook, but technique and presentation are not something easily obtained.

Chef Pepin is the greatest. Not only is he an elite level chef, he's also an elite level teacher of cooking and food. If he's on it, I'm watching.

A brilliant master chef and a sweet man 💕💕Beautiful penmanship too 🥰
Very enjoyable.
Class itself.
That was great. Would be a big moment for me to get to do that.
The man has black morels and chanterelles on his own property. ‘Nuff said.
Truly a legend. In every sense
OH!! I didn't know he lives here in the US 🥰
I love Chef Pepin!
His menu journals are amazing and I hope they eventually become part of the Smithsonian.
Good food. Good life.
Oh brilliant
First France sent us Lafayette…and then Jacques…Merci!
He seems to be getting younger.
From the episode description, it seems to be an older episode--on their website it says that this was aired in 2019.
Marvelous chef 😊 Seems like a very nice man too❤
Jacques Happy New Year.
May 2025 be filled with love and happiness. From Southern California with love 🥂

Jacques, your poodle reminds me so much of my late poodle. Their faces are almost identical.
Happy New Year!
Golden!
The very very best
Delightful
Jacques is wonderful and he has asbestos fingers!!!
❤❤❤
That is certainly the culinary way .
He needs to collab with Marco Pierre White!
Still going strong at age 89!
2018?
However the white russula tastes as bitter as poison raw but it is alright after simmering in water awhie.

Sick house, not a neighbor in sight
What makes him
So great?

You know, I get that he's a famous chef (one of my first cookbooks back in the day), but too much cooking and slurping and too little home!
