  • Replacement Wheels for Honda HRR Series Mowers. I'm a little disappointed that these aren't a softer rubber, but they should grip better than the 2-year-old bald wheels.
Please double check your actual model number to ensure these will work for you.

Looks like they don't carry those anymore. I really like the looks of them. Better tread for sure.

I think I’ll take my dremmel with cutting blade to my bald tires to make new tread

Yeah, it's crazy how quickly they wear down.

DATdesign don't worry about the negative critical comments, especially from people who don't have the problem and therefore have no concept of the need for what you're dealing with and talking about.
I have an HRR mower and this exact problem was the very first complaint I had about the mower. It's actually the only real fault. (The other complaints are honestly just minor areas that could be improved)
I too was thinking it s bit surprising that such a good mower, and that cost, with such a superior drive system, would have such pathetic wheels.
It's like building a massive power dirt dragster and then putting plastic tires off of a kids "power wheels" toy on it
They didn't have good tread to begin with, and even that wore down to slicks a LOT faster than I'd expected, which turned an excellent drive system with plenty of power into a wheel spinning paperweight.
I ended up just putting deck screws, and then 5/16" hex head screws all around both tires kind of in a "southern engineering" version of snow\ice studs and it has worked very well.
BUT I definitely figured that surely others had experienced the same problem and was wondering if they all just kept replacing them with the same factory junk, or if Honda had ever decided to mage a better wheel.
What I REALLY hopped was that some aftermarket company had come out with a good, aggressive tread "mud tire" version for it.
Seeing your video got me thinking that clearly I wasn't the only one with the issue and I discovered that a few people did what I did with screws. A few others cut various types of "stair tread" material and the like, and screwed it around the wheels like a Mad Max "re-read".
But YOURS IS THE ONLY video I've found where someone actually found an improved version already on the market to replace them with.
So yes, your video IS useful ....to those to which it is relevant.
...to those whine it ISN'T relevant too, and they still decide to just be negative and critical for no reason, well ...they just aren't relevant here themselves, and neither are their comments. Imo.

Thanks for the comment! Yeah, it is disappointing that such a good mower has garbage wheels. The replacement ones are a bit better, but I still don't expect a ton of life out of them. I still don't understand why these lawnmower companies make wheels that look like a sports tire, when it should look like a BFG All-Terrain.
I agree, someone needs to come out with a knobby replacement tire that can simply be slipped over the worn factory wheel. Seeing as mine wore down to slicks in three years (mowing 1/4 acre front yard once a week, April-October), I'd assume a lot of other people probably have, or will be having the same issue, on a mower which should easily last a decade.
And thanks again for the support. Funny how the people who are most critical and leave the negative comments are the ones with NO content on their channels.

      @@DATDesign BFG All Terrain KO!!
Yes! That is my favorite tire and I've had them in every 4x4 vehicle I've ever owned!
I literally had that picture in my mind when I was describing the tires I hope for this mower.
It needs the mower version of that!
Excellent grip in grass, dirt, trails, leaves, sand, snow, and even decent grip in slick mud, yet they also have a very impressive tread wear life and do very well on wet tarmack & cement without the vibration & bump of superswamper type mud tires. (Not that a mower would be used in snow and deep mud but...)
A mower version if the BFG AT KO would have REAL TREAD aggressive enough for it's purpose, but not so aggressive it would be tearing the grass up ....and they'd LAST a good 5-7 years!
That's exactly what this mower needs.

Lose the bearings that are on the tires and get some sealed bearings. Your gonna need a few washers as well cause the sealed ones don’t stick out as far.... but it gives it a far superior glide to the mower and the wheels will never wobble left and right!

Great story? I assumed the long drawn out version was for content and I'm fine with that but who cares about the fact that you got new Honda Wheels Man? Good luck with your You Tube channel.

How is that not acceptable if you mowing that much every week for 2 years? You don’t think they suppose to wear out 🤦🏾‍♂️😂

Try being less of a downer and you should get more viewers. I couldn't listen to that for very long. Then you didn't even show how to replace them. LOL

How am I being a downer? I talk how I talk. Video was simply meant to be an overview of the Honda replacement wheels. I pondered over these when replacing them on my HRR (since they aren't a "direct" replacement, so figured some others might be in the same situation when replacing the worn out stock ones.
