- Tall Grass - no problem. Honda HRC216 commercial walk behind mower getting a workout knocking down some tall grass around our hay barn.

We have this mower and I can definitely say it is way better then any battery mower.
I had it. I have a commercial or I had one. I took a that piece of the shoot and it works better. Actually I had a lot of lawn boys. They were good more but they did away because of the omissions I guess Toro was a good more in the day but so many of the more sound and not making anymore. I guess they’re not gonna make Honda anymore. They’re not making simplicity tractors or snapper but the good old days are to you. They were good. Great video.
Looks like it does a good job. I think your right, that aluminum deflector is your culprit in clogging up the discharge. Good luck with the rest of the project. Thanks and have a good day!
I have one of these with the blade clutch control. Good to see some content being created.
Cool : I found one of these mowes in the trash being thrown out. Took it home , fixed it and sold it . Only thing wrong was the recoil spring broke and needed a carb clean
Man didn't know what he waS throwing away!
Looks like it does a excellent job. That was tall stuff in my opinion I'd leave that aluminum piece in. Have a great day
Seems like a good mower. I've only ever run Toro walk behinds.
My brother have a 2001 HRH536 HXE, probably an earlier version of this, with cast-aluminium deck. One heavy SOB, weighs 60kg and you can start it without having the blade engaged. To engage it you push in the handle as on this one, but you must also push down a button on the same handle. If you push in only handle nothing will happen. The button seem to lock the engage-mechanism together when you push in the handle.
I wonder if the side discharge chute will work for the non commercial Honda push mowers ? Hmm 🤔
You're going to be right about the thin winter hay stocks when people are feeding hay in the summer. You might want to run the rake and baler over that push-mower cut grass -- might keep a cow going for another day.
We used to have an old, orange Bobcat push mower with the chute set up for a bagger that was never used. That mower would have had no issues in that tall grass of yours. Any other mower with the chute out the side of the deck would have been useless. Regards!
I just bought one Friday, and they didn't give me the side discharge. Where do you get it?
Amazon or you can order direct from Honda - go to their parts page for the number.
I have those exact same metal ramps
Could you make a video about your Duraforce Lawn Boy? Maybe compare it to this Honda? Thanks!
I’ll probably do that at some point - thx for watching…👍
Where did you get that chute
Amazon
does that back /side discharge attachment come with the mower?
No
Do you have to hold the blade control when starting the mower
No, as blade disengaged from motor. Others stop engine as solid link from engine to blade.
Does it mulch as well as your wife's HRX217?
Haven’t mulched with it yet. When I do, I’ll probably make a comparison video. However, the HRX217 is the best mulching mower I’ve ever seen. Thx for watching...👍
I have an HRC216 HXA I find it to be a better bagging mower than mulching. My Toro recycler with the Atomic blade mulches better in my opinion.
@@Pattheblack99have both. The double blade turns grass into dust. The toro struggles with making it into dust. Now the toro side docharges and pushes it further than the hrc216
Hrx 217 is better mulcher. Hrc 216 commercial is better bagger. I have both
Drill out the rivets on the side discharge remove the aluminum peace it will flow better..
Can you elaborate more on this?
I have two Honda chutes. One has an aluminum deflector riveted inside, presumably to deflect stones down? Not sure I like it, perhaps an older iteration, without is certainly cheaper to make.
