Thanks. That was a very comprehensive review of possibilities. I couldn't understand why my Android Blackberry Key2 had suddenly stopped accessing, in particular, Google Maps when I was out and about. I had Network & Internet/Mobile networks "data services while roaming" set to On. Why then didn't it work? Following your various leads, I then discovered that in N&I/Data usage "Mobile data" was set to Off!!! All sorted now - hopefully! Thank you :-)

Thanks mate. I updated my Samsung Galaxy J6 to Android 10. My SIM is on PAYG. The phone automatically selects the wrong APN and so I have to set the APN to PAYG/VOXI data which now works.Cheers!

My CAT S41 had problems after installing Android 8.0. Mobile data didn't work at all. Solution was to set network type to 3G in stead of 4G. This yields a different network icon (half filled). But i had to reset the APN (reset to default APN) and that resulted into two new APN's and a fully functional network. Thank you for tip 4.

Oh ok, woke up to this lovely problem morning and panicked. Went to internet and my the grace of God, I found YOUR channel. Used your first suggestion to go to data mobile data - mine says automatic, that didn't work, next suggestion - take out SIM card...ok where's my box - found took out SIM card tool, SIM out, replaced, turned phone off, turned back on, YEAH it worked. To me it sounds like you were using GSM simcard tray instead of the LTE one. When you put a simcard into the GSM one it only offers 2G I believe and it is really slow. But of course, this would only apply if you have a dual sim phone
