- My Memphis Grizzlies 2024 draft draft. The Grizzlies go into the draft and snag big man Zach Edey, Washington State University wing Jaylen Wells, and Uconn guard Cam Spencer. To cap off a great draft weekend for Memphis going into free agency.

Edey is a monster. Had some family that went to Purdue so I saw a game in person once and saw that giant. It will simply be a mismatch every time on offense he’s too big and too strong. He’s also pretty new to basketball compared to most so he’s still been improving every year. Excited for this season.

I do think Edey will start and I kinda understand your concern with getting another big, but other than Edey and Clarke, we can't forget UAB big man Trey Jemison who started for us last year, and honestly i thought he played decently well. I would love him back as a 3rd string center behind Edey and Clarke imo.

You could swap that lineup around a lot and if injuries do happen they have tons of people that have proven they can play and have an impact

Let it ride until the trade deadline! See how it goes w/ Jemison then pick up a big if needed. Gotta try and let some of those guys increase their trade value because right now, no one wants them. If we don't want them, who else in the league would?
i think if we move on from luke we could use a backup shooter guard that is efficient at the 3 and keep ja and scot jr as PGs while des and spence as shooter sg and marcus as a look down defender or make him a sf
Heading into free agency the Grizzlies will have space with existing exemptions and will probably pick up a couple of more moving out 3 or 4 players. So antoher big man is available to the roster.
Starting lineup should be Ja,Bane,(GG or Smart),JJJ,Edey

There’s a graveyard of “7 foot beasts” that thought they would do great in the NBA .
Not to mention Edey’s skill set is the opposite of the main trend that is occurring in NBA right now. (Maybe not jokic but Edey is no Jokic)
Maybe he’ll bring back “back to basket” type play but man I do not see it ending well for Edey.
I’m calling injury after injury for next handful of years until we never hear about him again.
I say only spend money to bring Luke back and run it again. Trey Jemison is on the 2-way contract and is a serviceable big for what we need from a big. See how this group performs and adjust at the trade deadline if needed. I love the chemistry in the locker room, and they will hold each other accountable.
News came out that Luke and Grizzlies are renegotiating their contract

@Joelong579 I tried to see the potential in his game but his game wasn't as fluent
We should trade Ziaire and 2 2nds for dayron sharpe from the nets. He would be a good backup center for us and he is a great rebounder.

@@AATM.Sports yes he’s the nets backup center currently. Only played 15 minutes a game but averaged about 7 and 6 in those limited minutes. Would probably be easy to trade for cause the nets are rebuilding
