Honestly I was doubful when the Grizzlies draft him instead of Clingan, but more I'm watching Edey's highlights during his past season, more I become more convinced that Memphis make the right choice. I think that Edey will make Memphis Grizzlies better, simply because he will bring them another big threat in their offense, knowing that sometimes, Bane or Morant are frenquently being targeted by good defender, and so we saw the limit of their offense during the playoffs 2 years ago ...
I also love Edey's mentality, give up his national team, to get focus on his future team. This man is exemplary in term of working hard, and people seems to forget that he practice Basket-Ball with less than 7 years.
I want to trust this young guy, who I'm pretty sure will surprise many people for the upcoming season !
Edey will prove all the naysayers wrong.
His stats are better than Clingan and has more experience under his belt.

I watched every Purdue game for two years, saw every interview, etc. Memphis getting a stud and a class player who will work and is very highly motivated. He’s perfect for this team and will be a success. I can’t wait.

Yeah, but to be fair, if he went into the draft last year he likely would have gone in the 50's and as a result wouldn't be given the rope he is gonna get by being the 9th pick.
I'm just happy he was taken at a respectable number. Considering he got no NIL money this will make up for it a bit
