I watched it crumble. It was shut down by the city because of the shootouts and drive-bys. A large portion of it has been reclaimed by MPD and is used as a police departmental holding cell location.
I spent a lot of time with family and friends in that mall. It's sad to see it in that state of decay. I would prefer the old malls over these open air malls they have now. It would probably still be used if the area hadn't changed so much. It became too risky to go shopping there close to the end. People don't want to be in fear while they shop. Eastdale on the other side of town is quickly heading that direction as well.
As a teenager in the 80’s even the malls here in New Zealand 🇳🇿 looked like this. All gone now, we have mega malls with residential, hotels, government services, restaurants and mega multi plex cinemas. We seem to have abandoned our old ‘small’ malls and condensed everything into a few key locations in the main cities.
3:56 Another #urbex went through the mall a couple years ago, they said "D Image" is a Disney photography studio where photos had Disney added to them. And 8:53 I believe that was a Disney Store.
@Gyes-u4o it is a bullet hole. The city closed the mall due to drive-bys and shoot ups. An entire wing of it is now used by MPD as a precinct department and holding cell
Feels weird i ate there as a kid aot of times and i think the jewelry store if it was a zales i bought my class ring from there very weird but enjoyed the video
Abandoned malls are some of the creepiest of places.... too many dark corners and hallways. And not to mention the mannequins. There are always mannequins, just watching.
Perfect audio, perfect shots, perfect voice over. Keep these coming!
Thanks! More to come!
All that hard labor to build it just to let it decay to nothing (crazy) good filming & exploration dude 👊
Appreciate it, thanks for watching
That’s the saddest part of these abandoned malls 😢

Great explore lord! One of our favorite malls. Keep them coming 👏🔥
I would love to see this mall one day. Love the decay and the vintage aesthetics. However it’s such a risky one.
That’s what I hear, it was probably my favorite abandoned mall just because of the food court

@5:25 I remember the days when you could watch the technicians processing film in these malls . You would pay extra for immediate processing.
Great explore. Amazing time capsule.Nostalgia from another age. Sad it’s all gone, but society evolves
