la France , ma seconde patrie ( je suis écossais de mère française et prof de français ) est officiellement née en 843 ( traité de Verdun ) ...ça fait 1 180 ans en 2023 ( on en parle pas du tout ) ..elle en a vu ...le nombre de conflits est impressionnant . Elle est toujours là et faudra un peu plus que 2 ou 3 imbéciles qui poignardent un prof ou mitraillent plus de 130 personnes au Bataclan pour la faire disparaître...( je rappelle à ceux qui savent pas qu'en 732 Charles Martel avait en face de lui , à Poitiers , une armée musulmane de plus de 200 000 soldats ) .
J'aime mon pays, mais ce que vous dites sur Charles Martel est un fantasme. Personne ne sait combien de soldats ont participé à la bataille de Poitiers. Il n'y a d'ailleurs aucune trace archéologique de cette bataille pour le moment, même si elle a probablement existé. D'autre part, Charles Martel était absolument méprisé au Moyen-Âge. Il a pillé les biens de l'Eglise a de nombreuses reprises ainsi que plusieurs villes chrétiennes comme Béziers. On retrouve des enluminures de lui dans les chroniques royales où il brûle en enfer. Ce n'est qu'à partir de la fin du 18ème siècle que le mythe de Charles Martel, défenseur de la France, a été fabriqué.

The French national anthem Melody was written by an Italian, Giovanni Batista Vioti, but the French are too proud to admit it, especially if it was an Italian, as everything great France has, has roots from Italy😂 The words are written by a French man, but without the Melody, you have nothing.
Even the famous statue of liberty is Italian, the French copied the Santa Croce statue on Italian play writer Giovanni Batista Nicollini tomb.
The statue is a personification of the Liberty of Poetry.

Then , about our anthem indeed the music was written by an Italian guy and ??? The English anthem was written for a French king and we French have no problem with it :)

Because our French Anthem "La Marseillaise" is most likely a Revolutionary War Song. That's why it's pompeous and thrilling to listen
As a proud Englishman it hurts me to say that the French national anthem absolutely pisses all over ours, as does the Welsh.
And the scottish one (which I truly find even better than La Marseillaise), and the irish, and the Italian too ;)
As French joker, i can tell you that "god save the king" before becoming an athem all over Europe, has the same origin as modern surgery...
It's a good one, maybe i'm biased because i grown up with 6 Nations and i love all the 6 athems.
As does Flower of Scotland. The German, American, and Russian national anthems do, too.
God Save the King is a dirge. 'Jerusalem' has the power and emotion to equal the national anthems of the French, the Welsh and the Scots. I so wish it was our official anthem. It's difficult to sing if you're not a singer though!

C'est cette France là que j'aime. On peut être blanc, noir, jaune, vert ou rouge, quand on partage les valeurs du Rugby et que l'on chante la Marseillaise à l'unisson alors là oui, on est un Français. Que vive cette France encore longtemps ❤

What is amazing is that every Frenchman will sing the Marseillaise without anybody leading them. Spontaneously, proudly and in unison, from the youngest child to the oldest WWII vet.

Je ne suis pas français (je suis suisse) mais, cela fait plaisir de constater la fierté sur les visages des rugbyman français. La France vit des moments tellement pénibles et cela dure depuis de si nombreuses années que retrouver des français fier d'eux, cela fait plaisir. Sur le plan sportif, je soutien les All Blacks mais, là le sport est secondaire, par contre le message est fort. 🤔

la première fois c'étais à chier car ils avaient pas fait bosser les enfants en groupes mais individuellement. Hier ils ont rebossé cela me semble t'il. J'ai aimé des voix aigus pour contraster avec les voix graves du public en fond

@@SB-or7cx Pour moi, la Marseillaise n'est pas un chant militaire, dans la mesure où elle est devenue hymne national (donc c'est au-delà du chant militaire). D'ailleurs, son principal sujet n'est pas la guerre en tant que telle, mais plutôt la défense de la patrie attaquée, de sa liberté, de ses citoyens (femmes et enfants inclus), de sa survie en somme. En ce sens, que ce soient des enfants, le futur de la République/de la Nation/du Pays, qui expriment l'importance de cet esprit/volonté de survie, ça me paraît plutôt naturel. En tout cas, pas moins que quand c'est la Garde Républicaine qui la chante. Pour le reste, c'est une question de goûts, je pense. Mais c'est vrai que chanté par la Garde Républicaine, c'est très bien. Ca "envoie", c'est sûr.🙂

Rien à voir, ça a été maintes fois expliqué, c'est une question de propagation du son, de sa vitesse et de ses échos dans le stade.

De plus, dans les mêmes stades pourraves, le "swing low, sweet charriot" des Anglais passe extraordinairement mieux.

I think French rugby will be interesting to watch in the next decade just as it as been fir the past 4 year's ...most people forgot how the U20 France team won 2 consecutive U20 Rugby World cups...they have a Very promising Generation and current Senior Team that could make a deeper impact in 4 years.

@@Yoshikage-Bowie En fait, ça n'a pas de rapport (royalistes et paysans pestiférés). Regarde par exemple la Norvège, ou le Danemark. Ce sont des monarchies parlementaires, les souverains règnent, mais ne gouvernent pas, ils ont moins de pouvoir que le président d'une république comme la notre. Ce sont les gouvernements, constitués après des élections, et sur lesquels légalement les souverains n'ont pas d'influence, qui décident des politiques de leur pays.
Pour le reste, je suis d'accord sur le fait qu'ici, en France, la question "royauté ou république" a déja été "tranchée", pour utiliser le mot exact...😉

The best national anthem and flag? That is subjective. The Star Spangled Banner is really great, but I prefer La Marseillaise. And as far as the best flag I would say the US flag is more or less average. Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Dominican Republic and Mexico have nicer flags.
