Thanks for the great review. I really appreciated the balanced reporting. It's very interesting that the battery life doesn't appear to be what they claim (while still being marginally better than the competition)!
Hey, Forrest, Thank you. :-) Yes, it is. Ironically, a day or two after I published this video, Bryton released a new firmware update. I don't know what functionalities it improves, but I guess I'll have to start testing the battery again.
UPDATE: Bryton has launched their radar today and named it "Gardia R300L". On their website, they claim that the radar can detect objects up to a distance of 190m. However, the product manual indicates a detection distance of only 150m and my experience doesn't show that the Gardia is capable of detecting cars earlier than the Varia or L508, which have 150m detecting distance.
Yes. I said that in the video. However, Garmin (and other bike computers) only shows 3 light modes (instead of all). So, switching between them using the power button or the mobile app is better. :-)
Yes, it can certainly help them. Personally, I'm not a fan of listening to music while cycling. I think it's dangerous. But thanks to the "transparent" modes, you can still hear the surrounding traffic. :-)

Thanks for the review
Glad you like it. 😊
Can you run the Bryton Gardia App in background and giving it audible warnings thru earphones?
Hi, so I just tested it, and yes, it works in the background and gives audible and haptic warnings (on iOS).
What about false negatives mentioned elsewhere?
I honestly didn't experienced any. If I would (or once I will), I will add a comment. :-)
very helpful, thank you!
Thanks 😊
Thank you for the review.
Hi Leo,
thank you for your appreciation. :-)

Is this device compatible with Garmin? I mean can you switch the modi with the Garmin menu?
Yes. I said that in the video. However, Garmin (and other bike computers) only shows 3 light modes (instead of all). So, switching between them using the power button or the mobile app is better. :-)
It's compatible with Garmin edge 540?
Hi Andrés, yes, it's compatible with ANT+ and Bluetooth bike computers. :)
@@cyclistshub thanks for your answer!
You are welcome. 😊
It’s winter. Of course battery life is worse in 0 degrees C.
Most of my rides took place at around 5°C. It will be interesting to see if the battery life will be longer in summer, eventually, by how much.
@@cyclistshub I bet it will. Please report back :)
i think its a device for all the idiots who cycle around listen to music instead of pay attention to traffic

Thank you for your constructive comment. Consider yourself lucky that you have exceptional hearing.
