Welcome to the BABYMETAL Foxhole🦊Great reaction Josh. I think you were right about Brett talking over a lot of it and making jokes so he missed hearing most of the song and what the Kami Band were doing. That would make it sound repetitive since all he will have heard (or what will have stuck) was the "woah oh oh" ... but fair do's, he did appreciate that was the girls having a moment with the audience with the extended sing-along for the live performance. Not sure what Cody thought, he seemed to be having more fun setting fire to his bills or something.🧯🔥🤪 To give a bit of context, BABYMETAL are a live performance act first and foremost, but they couldn't play live or tour for nearly 2 years. All shows etc were cancelled after March 2020 so they couldn't really celebrate their 10th anniversary (that was October 2020). They did manage to play 10 concerts, subject to some very harsh restrictions, at the Budokan in Tokyo early in 2021, but after that they went on a hiatus. In October 2022 they started to release new singles - one a month - and the album dropped in March 2023. They played 2 come back concerts in January and this was filmed at the next concerts they played on 1st (Black Night) and 2nd (Clear Night) April this year where they debuted the rest of the songs from the album and revealed their new third member Momometal. 'Monochrome' is one of the more mellow songs on the album (as was 'Brand New Day', the collaboration with Tim Henson and Scott Le Page from Polyphia that you were talking about from the previous album released in 2019), but listen again - maybe watch the official lyric video - to get how much feeling is in it and what it might be about ... and it may not seem so repetitive to Brett without the extended sing-along too. Try another song, pick anything (maybe not 'Gimme Chocolate' unless you can find a good live version, that would need you all to be familiar with what BABYMETAL do). They have nearly 70 songs now, every one of them is different from the last. They have songs in virtually every metal genre but will mix in other musical styles and genres with the metal, often when you least expect it. Some songs lean towards their pop roots others are just good hard metal and they do everything in between - so if you don't like one song no problem - try another, the chances are you'll love it.

Hopefully next time you get to know them more and react to more of their music In depth with the lyrics as it’s really fun and inspiring at the same time. Thank you josh for calling Brett out, the disrespect has got to stop.
Welcome & Thanks from Japan 有難う💛。I witnessed this performance at the venue. It was mesmerizing. BABYMETAL is the best musical phenomenon I have ever experienced in my 68-year-long life. (Before BM, I was a stubborn jazz / funk lover) We say "Japan is the country obsessed by Rock Music". The history is very long and the obsession started in 1966 when Beatles visited Japan and held 5 concerts at Budokan. Speaking of hard rock / heavy metal music, a number of bands started to come to Japan since as early as 1970s : Led Zeppelin / Grand Funk Railroad (1971), Deep Purple (1972), Queen (1975), Kiss (1977), Cheap Trick / Van Halen / Scorpions (1978), Judas Priest (1978/79) and so on. Now, any type of rock can be enjoyed here, especially by many all-female or women-fronted bands. They are daughters of American / European rock, for sure. (Many are grand-daughters in terms of age.) Uh-oh, we also say "Japan is the country obsessed by Jazz". It had started earlier than rock 😄
Gotta agree with Josh. Brett just wouldn't shut up during the whole song and then hit's us with his "this song is boring and repetitive comments":D. The whoa whoos is pretty much the only thing repeating itself in that song really. First we got that full on blast beat intro. Then the verse, chorus, second verse which is instrumentally very different from the first verse then some crowd interaction and then the chorus with some added parts (like the instruments stopping during while Su sings "bokura-wa") really fail to see that much repetition in it. But if you aren't paying attention then I could see someone thinking that way. Anyway I hope you do some more babymetal in the future. Maybe you could react to babymetals newest song (which came out a few months ago) called Metali which features Tom Morello in it.
It is annoying when you tune in for a reaction and the people doing it aren't even paying attention. And as far as the chorus, that's for audience participation and one of the reasons BM are so poplular with the fans. Showing the concert goers a great time is a "bad thing"?

Thanks for this reaction, it's always interesting to see how people perceive it. 6:35 I would be more nuanced than that, Babymetal girls and the producer are part of a talent agency, the talent agency is large enough that it's listed on the stock exchange. If we take for example Moa aka Moametal in Babymetal she was selected from 10 000 candidates to be part of the company, only a few were selected. That was when she was 8 years old. The group Babymetal started in as a sub-unit Sakura Gakuin was not created to be anything popular or very interesting, but interesting enough that they had fans who pay for the shows and buy merch, etc. to keep the group going. The real reason the group existed was more of an teaching tool, they used it to teach them dancing, singing, acting, doing interviews (interviewer and interviewee, hosting a show, posing for photography, learning about photography, doing modeling, those kinds of things. which is also why they were a school themed group and all were very young compared to normal j-pop groups. Now this group had sub-groups called clubs like in school: the newspaper club, the science club, the tennis club, the cooking club, etc. They had songs about the topic, etc. The producer of Babymetal is a life long metalhead, it's his passion, he used to even play in a band (but we've never seen or heard anything from that band, not even the name I think). But his job in the company is to be the manager and jack of all trades for rock/metal, electronic music bands the company signed. He would help the band do all the things the band members don't know or don't want to deal with. So the band can focus on their music and performing. Now just like in the west rock/metal became less mainstream over time and thus they asked him to work at the kid department. So he came from bands, unlike the people who had their career in J-pop, etc. His instincts told him to keep his eyes out for talent among these kids. And one day he got to see Suzuka (now Su-metal in Babymetal) perform live with a previous group and he was impressed with this 10 year old girl. She was already known in the company as a good singer, but her style was unusually loud. So he thought... maybe, just maybe he can combine it with the loud metal music he loves. He asked management and obviously this crazy idea wasn't allowed, they would not fund it. But he maneuvered himself into that educational J-pop group Sakura Gakuin together with Suzuka. And thus he asked again if he was allowed to make use of some of the resources of the group so he could make the heavy music sub-group (or actually sub-unit as it's called in SG). And he was allowed, but got no funding, so this sub-group was unlike the other subgroups, it was more of a hobby project without funding. The girls believed in him and worked really hard doing really small even, even malls, the food-court stage where conedians perform at a festival, etc., and because of the unusual concept they got some limited attention. So he was able to slowly build on it and gather money and work on more songs and thus have Babymetal self-fund to get going. The self-funding and unusual concept helped them gather more attention and money over time to grow their fan base and the size of their shows. And he used things like RUclips to get attention world wide as well. Something highly unusual for Japanese artist at the time. And Babymetal has been growing their fan base more and more ever since, even going on their first world tour in 2014 at the age of 15, 15 and 16. Babymetal's story is highly unusual, the idea should not work on paper but they build a small empire. In summary, Babymetal, this fusion of J-pop and metal was formed around this girl, unlike a lot of J-pop groups where concept comes first, Babymetal started with talents of the girls and formed around it to make the most of their talents. And it really worked, the producer thought it would not work, he was advised by a former CEO of the company: if you don't try it, you will forever regret you didn't try, so just try it. Well, it worked ! 🙂
I meant they were being disrespectful to him, that is how I would expect teenagers to behave. I actually didn't have an issue with what they said about Babymetal@@ProfPalagoon

okay from the comments i expected a terrible reaction but this is just how i listen to songs with friends and its obvious to me that you listened to the song while talking and doing stuff
Hi from Ireland this on was just one of their very few epic performances, they are huge, have to agree with a lot of commenters, it was spoilt by fooling around instead of giving your audience a chance to hear something new with meaningful debate. Won't subscribe yet until I see what the general direction of tge channels reactions are. Hopefully you will do more of babymetal they have a lot to offer your channel in likes and subs if taken a bit more seriously
All of their songs are positive and have to do with audience participation. But the other guys are probably into Motley Crue and Guns N Roses back in the day. . . Take a look at Bret Michaels. . . today. Lets all stand in one place and pay for bad live shows(sarcasms') Now, realize that those 2 groups hit the height of career and dropped out in 1/2 the times that these girls have been around. Better get use to no subtitles. . . besides Daughtry, how many NEW western metal bands have made it? None. in the last 15 yrs, were still having to rely on groups with members in there 50- 60's from the 80's and 90's. Judas Priest has even come back to jump start heavy metal, and that was because Rob Halford stated that " it was the energy that these girls gave out on stage , that I realize that I am not done yet" when they played together.
Damn, yall done stirred up the foxhole lol. We are a passionate bunch and this song definitely means quite a bit to us Babymetal fans. And it really worked, the producer thought it would not work, he was advised by a former CEO of the company: if you don't try it, you will forever regret you didn't try, so just try it. Well, it worked ! 🙂
it sure did!
Well said Josh, your friends are pretty disrespectful
damn straight they are. babymetal is soooooo good. They just haven't been enlightened yet. Time will come for them.
@@ProfPalagoonwhat’s this they stuff I was just vibing and having a good time
we only know how to disrespect our surroundings
I meant they were being disrespectful to him, that is how I would expect teenagers to behave. I actually didn't have an issue with what they said about Babymetal@@ProfPalagoon
@@MorningAfterMusicShow Seems pretty disrespectful to your Patreon supporter too. It's one thing not liking them, another to just not pay attention to what you are suppose to be reacting to.
Nice reaction apart from the continuous talking and great call out by Josh about not paying attention and that maybe the reason you found it samey.
😁🤘🏼🦊🤘🏼
they have adult adhd we're trying to get help but america is expensive
@@MorningAfterMusicShow Move to the UK, we have free universal ADHD care.😷🤕
@@Grington300 trust me, if only it were that easy
i thought this reaction was fine. just fine.
Whether it's Babymetal, Slipknot or Beethoven - disrespectful, uninteresting, unfunny ... Wasted time for self-promoters.
Those Polyphia riffs! It all was sooo good and really had Cody just vibing out in the Church of BABYMETAL! 😈 I get what people are saying, but at the same time I appreciate y’all doing more than just nodding in silence during a reaction vid lol
*nods in agreement I think I can vaguely see what they meant
okay from the comments i expected a terrible reaction but this is just how i listen to songs with friends and its obvious to me that you listened to the song while talking and doing stuff
holy shit someone gets it lol
Thank you josh
Any time!
Hopefully you will do more of babymetal they have a lot to offer your channel in likes and subs if taken a bit more seriously
oh shit my bad
Hey, guys! Nice video🤠🤘
Thank you 😍😘

ha gotcha kekw
Judas Priest has even come back to jump start heavy metal, and that was because Rob Halford stated that " it was the energy that these girls gave out on stage , that I realize that I am not done yet" when they played together.
idk bring me the horizon has done pretty good for themselves
Damn, yall done stirred up the foxhole lol. We are a passionate bunch and this song definitely means quite a bit to us Babymetal fans.
Regardless, I hope you guys get a chance to check out more Babymetal content. They are one of the best live performance groups I’ve seen in years, and has such a wide array of well put together songs to offer. I’m sure not everyone will like all of it, but there is something there to appreciate for everyone.
Maybe one of them well strike your buddy differently, and Babymetal can earn his attention. Either way, keep enjoying music and hope to see more Babymetal!

That’s the thing, we all do like BM to different extents, and not once did we mean to offend people as bad as the comments have made it seem.
They’ve been way worse than some random dude in a video going ‘eh it’s just okay’ lmao
But thank you, we can’t wait to do another reaction to them 🦊🤙🏻
I get it, you're not fans, but if you're gonna do a reaction, react instead of ignoring.
No fr
just forget Babymetal and do thing you like
if you dont even wana react to the song why record this video only josh was listening to it ya both were talking aatlest while recording if you dont know what to say atlest listen to the song
Too much dumb banter.

perfect reaction. 10/10. no notes.
Finally someone gets it
Not a bad reaction but, shall we say...............a little "unfocused"? Tbh I'm here for the reaction......not the jokes (oh and they very rarely repeat choruses - they're virtually always changed up) - but anyone that runs a Babynmetal video still gets my thumbs up. Feels to me like someone already had their mind made up before play was even clicked.
unfocused is our middle name
np - I'm already regretting my post - I hate to be negative 😂@@MorningAfterMusicShow
@@astrafaan no worries have you seen the rest of the comments 😂
I think he messed with the wrong crowd here - "The One" are usually very polite positive & helpful - but have been known to lose it occassionally :P
what a waste of time
Why even bother reacting to stuff if you’re not gonna pay attention to it?
Seriously guys??? What an awful reaction. It wasn't really about you!!
You ruining your own channel.. What a waste
