You’ve captured this 787 beautifully, with C-17’s in the background! I need to save that as a wallpaper!! + that right turn after departure. Beautiful ❤
Yup. other airlines are also choosing GEnx for their new 787. ANA have been using Trent 1000 for years on all of their 787, have started getting their new 787 with GEnx instead recently. As well as Thai Airways, their initial 787 also have the Trent 1000, but they just placed an order for 51 more 787! choosing to equip with GEnx instead.
I think its a reunion of sorts. For years Hawaiian flew DC-9s built by Boeing heritage company Douglas (those C-17 Globemaster IIIs were also built in Long Beach, California) and to the best of my knowledge they still have 717s (originally called MD-95s) in the fleet for inter-island flights.
John Barnett, who spent more than three decades at Boeing, sounded the alarm with aviation authorities in 2017 about he said were potentially “catastrophic” safety failings.
Mainly because Gene have already have the popularity in the market and probably many things come on the mind. I mean, in my opinion the Trent 1000 make the complete dreamliner experience, but GE is the choice.
It all depends on the service contract they received from GE. Better deal etc. Also, the RR trends were plagued with issues early on. I'm not sure if they have caught up in fixing those issues completely yet.
@@nickolliver3021 why not? Plenty of airbuses to fly on. Just enjoyed a lovely long haul on an A350. Boeing isn't even in the same league. As long as Boeing keeps stretching old corpses like the 777 and 737, I won't be flying them. But I will be flying, no worries!
@@vandijk1698 why would you not be flying boeing because boeing stretched the 737 and 777. Didn't airbus stretch the a320 and a330? Plenty of private jets around but we're talking commercial and not private etc
That is a beautiful bird

Sensational
Hey i seen that plane in flightradar after 2 years they finnaly got a 2nd 787
The first one built (LN 1097) has not been delivered yet, so this is the first one to enter service!
How many seats in cattle class?
Nice. 🤙🏾🤙🏾🤙🏾
Charleston isn't known for manufacturing...could this be one of reasons for all the recent QC and documentation issues at Boeing?

very nice but i am curious why it was in Charleston
That’s where the 787 is built.
Hawaii ✈️
Was takeoff in Charleston WV or SC?
SC. Charleston is where the 787 is built.
Yes, beautiful new bird ... but now owned by Alaska Air
Enjoy your new toy.
This will be flying long haul to Japan and possibly Honolulu to East Coast.
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Sounds like a giant vacuum cleaner.........
If only it was RR Trent powered, sucks they chose GEnx
Yeah, I like Trent, but RR is all the way over in the UK while GE is right next to them in the US
@@exoticgueslet3389 I mean All Nippon has RR and they’re in Japan

Too bad every time this plane takes off its losing $$$$$, Just SAD
If it's Boeing, I'm not going!
then dont fly
No especules, solo Dios y Boeing saben la verdad.
