    If we are buying a phone with a faster refresh rate, I personally feel that in my day to day use I would use that setting. It is part of what I am paying for after all, so I just feel that your battery drain test is just redundant here. Especially if you say you want to conduct one in a way that really simulates the real world use, so people going for s20 or oneplus 8 / 8 pro will use that higher refresh rate. If we go by your logic, then we should also lower the resolution on the android phones to make it more fair, but that doesn't make any sense because at the end of the day that isn't how majority of consumers will use their phones. Rest of the review is amazing though!

    • @ChadYu
      @ChadYu 4 года назад +2

      It was mainly to compare it to the iPhone to really test the performance of the battery. Nevertheless, I agree with you since the vast majority of people will use the higher refresh rate.

    • @JamesSmith-cm7sg
      @JamesSmith-cm7sg 4 года назад +1

      What are you actually saying though? Did you instead want him to test oneplus + s20 running at 120hz vs iphone running at 60hz? There's no point, we already know the answer. If someone is too stupid to realise that running a bigger spec drains the battery more, what's left to say. It's like being disappointed with a Lambo because the fuel runs out quicker than family cars.
      What he shows here is that if you put them on a level playing field there's very little difference. A real world example would be if you're going to be without a charger for a while, you'll naturally reduce the HZ to conserve battery.

    Hi.Another aspect which is not covered and for a daily driver i would assume is the most important is the reliability factor.From my experience and reading a lot of comments on the web the Oneplus 8 Pro and and the Galaxy Ultra have lots of issues from software adaptation to hardware issues.Also they are more likely to be returned or being sent for repairs in the first year.Considering that a price of a flagship smartphone is as price of a full laptop (Macbook air/Pro) i would have thought it is an extremely important point.
    Can you be the first RUclips Smartphone reviewer that includes those statistics?

      Fat man on campus you have a right to your opinion. I’ve had almost every samsung galaxy S/iphone/oneplus phone since 2015. Tested them in various cases and honestly, Samsung was the worst. It does not help that we only get the Exynos version. I’ve also tried custom roms and I have over 200 apps on every phone I use. Trust me, I do have experience with phones from both android and ios environments. It all comes down to personal preference and what you use it for. I am not a fanboy for any brand, I simply use what suits me best at a certain moment in time. I said that Samsung’s current flagship si crap for me, not for anyone else :)

    If the OP7Pro had fast 15 watt wireless charging (not 5watt, like it does right now, unless you buy their $100 fancy charger) and the 8's camera, it would be literally the most perfect phone I can imagine for me.
    OnePlus have been heading in the direction since the OnePlus One, which I still have. Even now, 6 years later (2014), the phone takes a long time to boot up, but then is snappy and buttery smooth, same experience as my Pixel phone! It's absolutely insane.
