- Unlike the 1947-1955 first series chevy trucks, the front sheet metal is interchangeable between the Viking and Apache models. We continue to work on our 1957 Viking 4400 that is sitting on a 1996 Explorer frame with C10 trialing arm suspension.

Shop swept out doors open ,bout time. Fender opening looks good,keep moving forward !
👍 I am still trying to find the north wall 😁. I think I am going to move the cab mounts 1 inch forward and call them good.

I am anxious to see if the rack and pinion eases the exhaust problems on the driver's side normal with these trucks. However, I am trying hard to get the IH road worthy. 😁

I also use the gm assembly manual. It is invaluable if you are struggling to figure out how the car/truck was assembled or what pieces you are missing. 😊
BTW I have spent many hours jumping hot wheels.
Its the big front fender wheel openings that are different. Cab is pretty much the same. Doors and hood same thing
I agree. As near as I can tell there is about 6" difference in the wheel opening length. The big front fenders are about 2 inches wider also.

Not Me 😁. But I am very happy that they negotiated a peace treaty.
So if you put a Tahoe frame underneath a 3100 defenders are too narrow if you use these fenders from the Viking it should fit better don't you think seems like the fenders are wider
Yes, each Viking fender is 2" wider than the 1/2 ton Apache fender. The wider fenders should work better for a tahoe frame swap. Especially if you decided to use the 17" or 18" wheels from the tahoe.
