“I’m almost ready to be like you” Bless his heart I just got a 57 Chevy pickup from my grandfather that me, him, and my daughter will work on together and this really made me look forward to that more than ever.
Cool old truck, my buddy in highschool had an old apache that had a flat bed on it. It was restored, was a cool truck. Your son is great, teach him all u can, he will appreciate it later in life. I know I'm grateful for growing up working on classics. Best of luck with it!
Great video. AJ your winch man and also you wing man when picking it up. AJ was certainly happy with himself getting the truck onto the trailer and his enthusiasm is infectious.
New subscriber. Came over from Chad @Adler Farms. Looking forward to watching your videos. Thank you for sharing. Have a beautiful and blessed week my new friend. God Bless ❤️✝🤗
Love those Apache fleetsides..purchased one with 3k miles in 1962 when I was sixteen..kept two years and sold it to a friend's dad who later sold it to an old high school buddy..then to a fence company. Last known owner was a mean old man who had parked in his driveway for years..when my son was sixteen and taking auto shop I offered to buy it for me and my son to restore together..no deal 4 years ago it dissapeared with the same rotting tarp never to be seen again..😢
WOW, just when you think everyone else has given up on father and son shop time, I find this! Fantastic! When I was in the 5th grade, my dad brought home an old stove bolt 6 and we rebuilt it (old babbit bearing rods and oil dippers). That started me on a path I am still traveling (at 73 now). And, what a coincidence, I actually picked up a '59 Apache about 6 months ago and am trying to decide which direction I will go with it, rod or stock. Spend all the time you can with those boys, my two sons are grown and have kids. Although I started them out early with a couple '55 chevys when they were teenagers (which they still have) we work a lot on our heavy equipment now that we use on our property and I tinker on vintage motorcycles. Every minute you miss being with them is a minute you can't get back. Good luck with the Apache and keep the boys close. I subscribed and am anxious to follow your projects.
Thats my all time favorite truck model. I just uploaded a video last week of my son (14) going to pick up his 61 apache. Great Video looking forward to more videos
Awesome job Aj! You're a great help. Cant wait to see you and the boys fix this truck up. Sounds like its going to be a great channel and lots of interesting things to come.
I love how you keep your boys involved. I'm rebuilding a 79 Ford with my youngest boy (it's actually his truck) on my channel. I'm subbed and following along. Love your shop! I need one of those in my life! REAL BAD!!! haha
I've seen Jack doing some welding in a few of his videos. I'm sure you had to teach him how to do that. It would be great if you could have some videos on welding.
I've used the Marvel Mystery Oil in the past and it works, but I remove the spark plugs and use an Oiler to squirt the oil into each cylinder. It's good stuff it's like ATF high viscosity. With the spark plug wires removed you can jerk the motor with the starter to work the oil further down the cylinder to try and break it free. Good luck. Great father and "sons" project. AJ did a great job working those winch controls dad. lol
Your kids are what make it fun to do these projects, long after your gone they’ll tell their grandkids how they worked on that old truck. On my channel I do things with my grandson, that’s half the fun.
Awesome find Kent and AJ 🐦. It'll be fun to see you get it rolling. I saw it in the movie . I'll pretend I didn't LoL. It looks like Mater LMBO JO JO IN VT 😆💕
@@SpeedBumpGarage by any chance, do you ever view Hagerty’s channel? They did a series on a 1950 Chevy 3600 that they drug out from under Maple trees, with all the mess you’d expect. You picked a great first vehicle to start off your channel with. Love the teaching the kids as you go too. Marvel Mystery Oil is an old farmers go to oil. The concoctions some people use is amazing, suprize some of them home brews don't kill them. Lots of chemicals in them. The old machine guys I learned from liked to use Marvel and some old school destroy transmission fluid. It will clean and dig thru the rust and carbon as well as leave an oil film behind. That was before detergent oils, I now use the thinnest convental detergent motor oil I can find, 5w15 and Marvel or PB Blaster and mix even parts. I'm a big fan of PB Blaster but any good penitrating oil will work. I heat it up before putting it in sometimes but leaving it in the cylinders for a week is a great idea too. Not an overnight fix.
