    I usually am on the water for a few hours, I use the container in front of the seat has a removable cup, usually for bait but I use when I need to go toilet, tip it overboard, if you’ve tried to pee of a kayak it’s not that fun 😂 ; also I don’t tie my rods on anymore only my paddle , I fell overboard once with and got tangled up in everything and thought a $400 rod ain’t worth my life. Just something to think about for anyone, Love your videos 😀

      It’s a good point about becoming tangled in leashes. One point i missed in the vid, is i have two knives attached to me to cut myself free from anything like that. My leashes are also pretty breakable if i really yank on my joins, they are really there to stop a rod from sinking in a roll -over. As for the toilet i don’t typically have that problem 😂 strong bladder.

      i dont have that issue with a stealth fusion 480 all rods (still setup) tackle fish gaff ect all safe below deck if i do myself a mischief lol but i do hand it to you guys that go out in other yaks they make you come up with other solutions & some i would use myself ..keep yakin guys :)

      @@ozzierobbo i would love the in hull solution! it can be done with 2 piece rods at the front but as the majority of mine are full one piece , the tubes do the job

    Wow, nice setup! I've only done a small bit of kayak fishing in lakes, I see there's a bit more to think about for ocean.

    I've got a 400, but I must admit the reload looks awsome, I might have to upgrade

    Excellent vid Blair. Ive been kayakfishing about 20 years and this reminds me i need some more safely equipment like the first aid kit and plb. Do you worry about your fish finder when you turtle or is it pretty robust?

      i have turtled many times with it up and also beat the crap outa it in the surf, no issues fully submerged. as long as my cables are screwed in no issues 🤙

    Do you always sail from these places?
    It seems like it would be hard to remove the salt from the tackle.
    I'm sure going over big waves will help me develop my paddling technique.
    It looks like a "pro-fish45" kayak, but they don't sell them in Japan.

      My routine after fishing is a very lengthly de-salting of the tackle, but it keeps it lasting longer!

    What do you like most about the Raymarine Element 7HV, it’s a bit more expensive than some I’ve been looking at but not completely out of my league, I’d be interested in hearing your opinion as I’m looking to buy soon?

      @SkwidyFishing  7 месяцев назад +1

      The element is more of an offshore unit and you can get away with plenty of other less pricey units. The element just has solid sonar right down to 140m where ive taken it before. It’s really good at marking individual targets in 30 -70m and thats what i use it mostly for . Bonus is the cool charts i make with the realbathy. My area isnt charted well so i make my own for the area!
