  • Hello and welcome to Basic Fishing from New Zealand. In this video, i decided to try something a bit different from what I usually do and try out livebaiting for the very first time on the kayak. Unfortunately i've learnt the hard way that there are certain times and places for this method to be used on the kayak. Oh well, hope to try it again soon when the season is right

So cool you appreciated the fact you got to see such an amazing creature (Mangopare in Te Reo). Fishing isn't always about finding something to eat.

better to catch sharks on the beach than on a boat/kayak haha they don't make it easy to release. hope to get a lucky break and get a king on the kayak soon
