The way every washed out fashion RUclipsr can’t keep up with you so I’ve seen them leave the niche of “high quality informative” and settling for hype that pays bills. I love your opinions and thoughts so much
I love how easily you explained that, it's fluid and makes the audience think too. I was really into fashion blogs and magazine as a teenager and it felt more pure and about the actual clothes rather than the sensationalised runway shows and which celebrity attended, etc. I'm so inspired by your fashion culture and visionary outlook on it as far as predictions. I love this new series of videos you've been putting out lately !
So interesting you said this. During Milan Fashion Week I’m pretty sure Mrs Prada said ‘in serious times one has to work seriously and responsibly. There can be no room for useless creativity.’ So yes fashion rn has no new discoveries per se but it’s focused on being rational, efficient and product led from a design perspective and as a consumer I’m not mad at this!
Great video I’ve been having similar thoughts about social media and things surrounding fashion I’m really hoping that with the impending recession the current ways in which we use social media will die out and we kinda revert back to how things were in 2011 Really want ppl to stop attempting to be cool on the internet and just go back to how we socialized and acted pre corporatized internet In my head what I’m hoping happens is with ppl not having money everyone kinda comes to an agreement that buying shitty/ trendy things and trying to look a certain way online will die out and liking/ knowing cool things will become the new hip thing also personality and individuality I also think brands and companies will have to react to this, and I’m curious to see what/how they do it I feel like alot of them won’t know how to exist in a post instagram world and just die, excited to see some of them attempt to pivot and survive, I also want to see how alot of people will look and perform in this new era 😭🤔 Idk I just hate Mark Zuckerberg and being cool, I just wanna be annoying on the internet Hope new platforms that aren’t as corporate rise, I really like blogs and forums We need to prioritize creativity freedom and the youths not getting money Money = Ytness Yt = EVILLLL
Totally agree. The only downside I think is that all of these platforms have operational costs that eventually become too much to front. Then investors get involved, and the beast gets fed. This is why I suggest that people should go out of their way to learn how to host their own domain and blogging platform. Yes, it wont be algorithmically served to everyone else, but I see a lot of value in communities built off of organic online discovery (word of mouth from forums, links shared in deep old comment sections, etc.)
@@ChlorineInMySoup Oh yea thanks for adding that for me, wasn’t trying to make my initial post super long 😅 I’ve definitely thought on that, personally I don’t really enjoy these big platforms at all I want the internet to be democratized. I wanna go back to just being silly so yea I think we should make it cool to go on smaller sites that are hosted by normal ppl or just blogs I think I’d force ppl to have interests and learn things, you can’t run a blog and post the same thing as someone else and you can’t go on a forum and assert yourself as a knowledgeable person you have to blend into the culture of that forum learn and share Sites like KTT, Niketalk, Oddfuturetalk, and Hypebeast have been up for the longest off of just small adds on the sides and they haven’t been bought yet either suits can’t really come in and influences those types of communities and they aren’t easily monetized
Something that I’ve been thinking about with the lack of accessories, is that, these pieces have to take on the wearers own personal style. If they aren’t fully styled, the wearer has to form their own style
I love what you’re saying about sound bites. it makes me think about dog whistles 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 which of course they are statements that go over peoples heads and signal much larger complex ideas and ideological frameworks. Amazing video. Thank you
Yes! And this comment made me think about me think about fashion as a form of signification and what clothing communicates. I’m not a fashion student or anything like that so I’m sure it’s already being discussed on these terms, but this video and your comment just highlighted this idea of fashion being a readable text for me
My fashion awakening came about in 2010. I was lucky to be super active in the blogging scene and I truly enjoyed writing lengthy blogs, reading deliciously written reviews of Ivana Carpio, Susie bubble etc. Tumblr was also instrumental! I wish the blogging could be rescusitated amidst people’s fascination w videos! I made the yt channel to have a creative platform to have a creative outlet however I do miss the beauty of writing since it’s different. with RUclips, you have to put on a face ( literally) which can be somtimes draining lol real talk. Love this video so much. 2nd time watching it 🖤🖤😭🥹
I love this! I feel like you would be so good in a panel discussion on Show Studio. I need more content like this in my timeline. Do you have any similar channels/ maybe podcast that you would recommend?
could you tell how to get into tumblr fashion community? you inspire me so much, and i love your videos, but i'm new to tumblr and the algorithms don't really get me. i think the main way is to discover and explore different designers through hashtags etc but maybe you could give some advice on finding mood boards and the content you were talking about here. thanks!!
Ah yeah, think Been Trill days. Williams, Abloh, Preston blogs. Before the mass adoption of centralized content platforms, we used to own our identities, and I’m not talking about MySpace. I feel as if the cycle of trends are becoming shorter and shorter, partly due to how quickly our feeds are refreshed and algorithms adapt to our behavior. Aside from designer items being remade, not even an instagram creator with a following can have a product of their own without a fast fashion replica.
I see Rian getting more shine for their deep dives and connecting culturally relevant and niche fashion timelines; so good to see that
They inspire me so much to talk about fashion and my own observations.

Really want ppl to stop attempting to be cool on the internet and just go back to how we socialized and acted pre corporatized internet
In my head what I’m hoping happens is with ppl not having money everyone kinda comes to an agreement that buying shitty/ trendy things and trying to look a certain way online will die out and liking/ knowing cool things will become the new hip thing also personality and individuality
I also think brands and companies will have to react to this, and I’m curious to see what/how they do it
I feel like alot of them won’t know how to exist in a post instagram world and just die, excited to see some of them attempt to pivot and survive, I also want to see how alot of people will look and perform in this new era 😭🤔
