Probably “influencers” bought them to make contents, once they posted their videos, they returned the Apple Vision Pros.
Yeah thats what it is
Forreal. Who in their right mind would buy this and use it every single day for hours.
100%, and maybe a few isheep thinking it was an actual viable device to use, until they watched a few videos and got bored, lol.

Everyone returning it because they all got their credit card bill and realized 4K for a first gen product isn't worth it 😂

They are returning it because they didn't get enough views on RUclips

outstanding observation!
Or they’re returning it because they ALREADY got their views and now they want their money back as well.

...no? The clothing actually performs its role properly, this thing actually isn't a very useful or wearable product. It's more like returning a t shirt because the fabric is super itchy and keeps giving you a rash

My guess is that most people are returning it because they wanted to try it but they don’t wanna spend this close to $4000 on it. So they’ve had two weeks and a lot of fun and now they get their money back. Very generous of Apple.
$3500
It is not Apple's generosity. If people are getting headaches and other health effects after using Vision Pro, then Apple is absolutely obligated to refund their money.

Apple forgot to add "No Return Policy" 🤣
Apple users discovering VR for the first time and realising what everyone else already knew.
Um, no, this is an XR device. Apple hardly has any VR content to even showoff.
VR content today is massive, and the industry is growing like crazy. There are 20 million Quest users as of last year.
Let's be real. These people were always going to return the Apple Vision Pro the moment they decided to buy it. They only wanted it for the internet points, Instagram clout, and for TikTok viral fame. This way, they get more views. Once for the purchase. Once for the unboxing. Once for the review. Once for the "I'm returning it" video. And finally, another one for the return itself. They got their money back AND the notoriety for having one. I mean, just the news coverage alone, like the video you're watching right now, got them a bigger audience. 😅
that's the most true comment I read on RUclips.
It's a trend..There's no way they can get their full money back if selling it online or to a person..Apple products are just gimmicks..
This.
Their parents are proud it's not their money their kid is wasting.
Exactly.
RUclips is why returns are a thing. This is part of every new product review etc... small/smaller YT channels buy the device, review it, make some dramatic statement about whey they are returning it and get the money, they likely don't have or before a CC payment is due. IF, they could afford it, they would keep it as new apps, software updates etc... AVP will produce tons of content for larger YT channels as time goes on. Also, yes 1st gen product, not meant for everyone and Apple isn't surprised by the reception, it has gotten so much FREE marketing from all of this it's probably 100x increase from even a new iPhone or iPad 5 years ago.
Even if they could afford it, it makes more sense to return it and wait for new apps and software to come out. I’m not buying a $4,000 dollar piece of hardware based solely on the promise that it MIGHT get great dev support in a few months/years so it can gather dust in a corner of my room. Even successful and cheaper headsets like the Meta Quest 2 become dust gatherers once the “wow factor” wears off.
As a small channel you’re not going to make any significant money with views. They’re more interested in the views, a wider audience, subscribers etc… right now it’s just a very unfinished product.
@@BrandonTalbot 100% agree they are not going to make any money with it, they are simply hoping for a viral hit of some sort. I don't disagree, but I think the "returns" is overblown due to the fact this is a given that anyone that could buy one on a CC to review and get some traction would do so "I would if I was a reviewer" but just adding to the line of the returns in the day and age of the influencer is a bit overblown. This is a 1st gen product, it's going to have some issues, and does. I think the headlines are just a bit over blown is all.
We already have enough screens to look at everyday, I don’t need one strapped to my face
Amen, brother.
I can sit in front of my HDTV for 8 hours, no problem.
I can sit in front of my Mac for 8 hours, no problem.
The same cannot be said about Vision Pro.
People should be doing the same as these guys with their cellphones and laptops. I hope someday everyone realizes just how bad they all are for us, and most people stop using them alltogether. Even I will.
I really want one for the workshop! Imagine it, all your service manuals and reference photos floating just behind what you're working on. Better yet, no more having to wash hands/remove gloves each time you need to flip a page/scroll.
And if you're stuck and need a mates help then just video call and they can follow along! It's brilliant!
@@charmio Or, just imagine sitting at a PC or Mac, with voice control (Siri, Cortana, etc) and getting your manuals and reference photos quickly and easily.
Many people have said AVP is a 'solution in search of a problem'. Well put.
@@DerekDavis213fyi, it's the XR market problem. There is no XR market, and probably will not be one for at least 10 years or more. Google had concepts that fell through, Varjo was first to discover this with an actual XR product, then Microsoft, then Facebook, and now Apple. They all spend tens of billions to throw down the drain on a technology that literally not a single person is willing to use. Meta put out an article after Quest pro stating they made a huge mistake and will be back to focusing efforts into VR gaming, where the market exists for this technology.
All VR headsets are like this, it's not an Apple Vision Pro issue. It just happens that the AVP is extremely expensive and impractical as a MacBook replacement, so $3,000+ for something that is used in very limited quantities will prompt returns, especially those that just started to experience VR.
The Quest 3 despite having similar issues, is more comfortable, but more importantly, the lower price and functionality (towards games especially) makes the price very bearable. Had the AVP been priced similarly to the Quest 3, there might be more consumer willing to justify keeping it, but as of now the price outweighs the enjoyment from the headset.
Most people were also just getting into VR. Some people even believe the AR component, hand tracking and generally using VR for work was something invented by Apple. They were just amazed to see all this for the first time
It’s definitely not the product. Most people returning it are returning it because they realize they needed the money for other things and the Vision Pro wasn’t a priority. Some even bought it solely to record a video with the intent to return before buying it.
@jamesdax some people may be returning it because of these two problems, most are returning it because of what I said.
You clearly havent used it nor have seen a review on it from multiple people

@@excaliber8713Just about every issue that Quest 3 solves. It's easier to just say the AVP can only display a handful of media for you, and then it's $3500 e-waste.
The biggest issue is that it was an XR device. The XR market doesn't exist, and won't exist for a very long time. Google, Varjo, Microsoft, Facebook, and now Apple have had to learn this lesson. AS always, Apple is a decade late to learning what the outside world looks like.

Until they can get the tech down to the size of a pair of eye glasses, VR will never be mainstream.

It’s AR… not VR…. And that glass thing was also flopped

$3500 for only 256GB storage, 2 hours of battery, discomfort, headset marks on the face, limited app compatibility, etc. no thanks. I gonna save the $3500 in my bank instead.
I tried it and keep getting massive headaches. Same as with VR. I do have a huge motion sickness issue that's why I avoid roller coasters and boats.
Same here
i avoid water beds
and even if I dont get major motion sickness, just feeling a little queezy is enough for me not to want to pick it back up. And this is the case for the vast majority of people with VR: theyll experience at the very least mild motion discomfort. VR will never take off because this cannot be solved. It will always be niche and we dont have to worry about a society where everyone is walking around with these things strapped to their faces. Im happy to learn this fear is unfounded
Never huge VR guy
You're not a real gamer... there's a lot of tutorials to avoid that
If this continues to be in Apple's product arsenal over the years with the necessary improvements in comfort and usability (like the virtual keyboard needs improvements), I could see a future where this could be an alternative WFH "computer." I think we are many years away from this becoming more than a novelty and entering the mainstream.

@user-sj5ju4jb7t "Manufactured" and "made" are the same word, lol. They are assembled in California.
It seems like a known issue with VR AR sets. Its not meant for longer use then 1-2 hours per day for most people. Our eyes can't handle it, a simple and easy explanation.
Seems like it to me, and it seems like they cant get that in their heads.
Let's be real. They are returning it cause they can't afford it. They knew the loophole of the 14 day return policy, so they did it and showed it off as much as possible and the novelty wore off people no one one in their friends group is impressed. So they returned it.
Other influencers gotit so they have free content to make, but soon realized thats literally what every other content creator did. So the views are not as good as they thought it would be.
I have a Quest 2 and it gets much better after 2 years of playing with it quite often. I don't even considered the novelty gimmick to be big part of VR/AR. IT got to do with the apps/games that you are using and have a brain cell to know how powerful it is
The Google glasses were so much better in terms of ergonomics and even for the tech it had during that time had failed. The early adopters can go through this so people with actual brains can make use of the cheaper better product down the line.
🤣
They were as pointless as this contraption. Computers work just fine. No need to act like we are in a science fiction movie.
Cheaper better product has been out and about… apple needs some catching up, lol.
Because it’s expensive, and they just want to try it. 😂😂😂
I really like mine & plan on keeping it. As someone that’s been developing software for 40 years, I imagine great things ahead for this device genre & look forward to coding for it. 😊
A lot of these returns are people who fail to configure it correctly. I disregard any complaints over eye strain bc that is a personal issue I don’t have which I have struggled with in any oculus headset
What you said at the end is exactly the problem. Yes, great things are indeed ahead for this product. I imagine within the next year or two, there will be 5-10 killer apps that will make everyone want to buy this. Until then, however, you have a super heavy, $4K toy. What I'd want to see:
1. something lighter. Sometimes using premium materials is actually a bad thing.
2. Apps that make you just have to have it. When this was being announced, I figured, great, on a plane, I could sit back and watch a Netflix movie or two. Unfortunately, Netflix doesn't work with this (yet).
3. a cheaper device. I make good money and wouldn't throw $4k away on this toy. I get it, it has all types of world class tech. But at $4K, this will simply never take off, even if killer apps come out.
Most people are willing to spend $1,500 - $3,000 once every six years or so for a new laptop, because it's such a critical device. $4k for a toy? No thanks.
Many of those who use Vision Pro primarily as an external monitor have realised they can get an external XDR monitor with higher res much cheaper than 4,000 dollars. Good for them. @@justanotheryoutubechannel1316

I had two VR headsets before and no matter how cool they are... they ended up not being used and collecting dust until I sold them
Yup starts off strong and then collects dust
More like a discouraging setup. With add-ons like KAT walk, it would be more effort than getting into car plus additional trackers for your knees, legs, and waist.
they made their money with youtube reviews and now turning it back because they can't afford such an expensive thing.
Keeping mine and find that I continue to use it mostly for watching family photos and videos, especially Spatial Video. We have young kids and the AVP provides a one-of-a-kind viewing experience that we will undoubtedly appreciate later. I also managed to do quite a bit of productivity in it. It is a great way to get things done away from your desk. There will be VisionOS updates and new features so it will only get better. Don't bother comparing the AVP to the Quest 3. Not even in the same league. Of course, if you can't afford it, you can't afford it. It will probably take two years before we see this unit become the Vision SE when Apple comes out with the Vision Pro 2 (which won't be cheaper so don't get your hopes up).
Of course AVP can't be compared to other VR/XR headsets in the market. It can't play VR games. It can't do flight sims, racing sims, nothing. Can't even watch Netflix. The AR seems great though, thanks to its high specs.
Sure it can. There is nothing stopping the AVP from doing all of that. There will be 3rd party or even Apple controllers for games. There already are. That is not why most folks will be getting the AVP. Besides, gaming is not the killer app for XR and is the main reasons people get sick using these headsets. We have known that for a long time and is clearly not the catalyst for adoption. The Quest 3 very good at gaming,... need I say more? Apparently Apple got the memo. Immersive media, sports, concerts, family content, iMAX, Spatial content (friends and loved ones), and some productivity and what amounts to teleportation. The Environments are amazing and an example of the experiences you can have. Try it and you will see. If you haven't tried it, you don't have a basis for opinion. You don't have to buy it, just get a demo. It's a different level even coming from a Quest 3. BTW, I have both the AVP and the Quest 3.@@reggiekoestoer1511
@@nextcurve probably, just not yet. I really hope it can, it has the muscle to do all that and more. People are already working on a workaround to use SteamVR with AVR. We'll see.
I'm not bashing on AVR, it is what it is. I hope it gets better though, more apps will be developed and hand controllers (although expectedly expensive ones) will be developed too. Hopefully SteamVR integration too. If gaming is not a catalyst for VR adoption, then I wonder what is? Cooking? Reviewers went absolutely wild for that.
Not in the same league is a bit of an ignorant look of it. Vision Pro is just a step up in quality and it’s not crazy dramatic, but everything you mentioned can be done on the quest 3. If that wasn’t available, they wouldn’t bothered buying it in the first place. The RUclipsrs are just making it seem like it’s Apple’s fault that they’re too broke to keep it.

It's not the case that early adopters are returning the Vision Pro. If you are returning your Vision Pro, you are not an early adopter. And if you haven't returned it already, you're not an early adopter: you bought it well after it was first available. These are simple cases of buyers remorse and aren't reflective of what most Apple Vision Pro users are experiencing.
I've been wearing this thing for several hours each day for the last two weeks and have not experienced any of the physical symptoms that others are describing. It's true that the number of apps available is limited right now and it's true that this is not a replacement for your Mac But it's still a useful tool in the hands of someone who bought it for reasons other than being wowed by 3-D dinosaurs.
Just made holographic glasses. We don’t need so much computing power, just the time and date and weather is good.
Lots of people here are dismissing consumer complaints. I personally cannot wear a simple cap because wearing them for an hour gives me headache. This is a very well known phenomenon known as external compression headache. It's not a simple discomfort, it is actually debilitating for me.
These product feedback in the market are very important user considerations in any product development because the desirability of a product is always tied to user experience. If it gives the user discomfort, why use it.
I refuse to by any VR set until they create one that is like a casual pair of sunglasses you can take on and off like any kind of sunglasses
I'd prefer AR that's glasses. I thought google glass was going in the right direction, but like always, they abandon stuff they do. I've been saying this for at least 10 years now. What I'd want from AR:
* someone approaches me and I think, crap, I don't remember who this person is. In my ear, I get a prompt telling me their name and info about them
* I pick up a can of beans at the supermarket and get a prompt telling me it's being sold for 20% less today only at the store down the street
* I'm in a cab trying to get to the airport, look at my tickets and get a prompt telling me the plane is 45 minutes late
* I'm walking in a new city and getting walking directions to my location and I get giant arrows telling me TURN HERE, so I don't get lost
I want real time info as I need it, the kind of info you could get from your smart phone, without the need to constantly have it pointed at things. VR is great, but it's a toy. Apple's VR headset is a very, VERY expensive, very heavy toy!
That's impossible
@dsong90 People once thought having touch screen phones with the internet available was impossible having self driving cars impossible flying on a plane impossible Tvs that are so thin that they look similar to a pane of glass impossible with enough money tech and human ingenuity nothing is impossible my friend all it takes is someone to come up with the idea and create it.

VR is not new. 😂
The returns are happening because people wanted to be the first to review it on youtube, then return it
what these news reports are failing to acknowledge is that headset screens cannot convey depth and distance. we have evolved to be able to focus on things near and far, things we're not directly looking at is supposed to appear blurry. however, the real-time image is set at a fixed distance from your face, and everything around you is flat and in focus. this is the main reason some people start to feel side effects from prolonged use.

Apple needs to tone down the eye wear and pack all the software into a cube that sits on a table. This cube can transfer the data via wifi. You don't need some a mega structure on your forehead, just develop sunglasses that will receive the data. There is no need to have it this large.
the latency alone would make you sick lol
They never used any vr headset before and they complain about headache, motion sickness or sore eyes.
Same story everytime new headset comes out only 10X this time. VR/AR/ Spacial computing isn't advertised and targeted properly and people just buy it as a novelty, pushed by fomo or some wow effect and end up disliking the experience in the long run. Just like the video says - the device should not be used while moving, most people who had the official and stationary demo don't know that.
This has the "I'm gonna buy the best, most expensive and flashy bike, even tho I can't ride any bike" mentality.
Who remembers the Google glass. It was way ahead of it's time
I purchased one and returned it.
Lots of issues, here's my summary:
- Expensive - costs more than the latest iPhone and Macbook combined, but can't replace either
- Solo experience - isolates you from others, can't participate with friends and family in a meaningful way
- Limited uses - very limited app ecosystem, just a handful of apps, most for entertainment purposes solely
- Zero productivity - conference calling is a novelty due to virtual avatar use - definitely wouldn't use in a professional setting like board meetings, HR, etc; screen mirroring less practical than a dedicated monitor
- Uncomfortable - weight become apparent after just 20 mins of use, neck strain after 40 mins, runs hot
Flop
😂 what a bunch of crybabies😂
The PS5 VR2 headset even recommends that you don't wear the headset for more than a couple hrs and to take it off if you're feeling discomfort.
I have worn VP for more than TEN hours straight...
I even fell asleep watching a movie…
🤔
Yeah, let's strap a phone to our eyes since we dont use them enough already
Returned mine because there just wasn’t anything to do on it that was different from using an ipad. No social aspect like Quest, you cant play games with others, no worthwhile apps. $3500 just to browse the internet in a floating window or watch movies alone i just couldn’t justify keeping it.
HA 😂! The woman walking up the escalator and the elderly black woman looking at her like what the? You arrived in the Jetsons era granny lol 😂
I agree with the many people that have said most people bought it with the intention of returning it
Can't imagine willingly damaging my eyesight even more. Billions of people suffer from vision impairment without using these gadgets. But it's a free world each to their own.
The good thing is it kinda looks cool, already looks normal the more visuals of people I see wearing it here. But it needs to still be more then a fashion statement.
It already is. I can do basically everything I can do with my phone/ipad with this device.
Imagine paying 4k for a vr headset lol
Ppl just wanna get robbed then complain when they got robbed
Well, what did they expect? 😂😂
I paid $6000 for it in Bangkok. 256GB
I got a meta Quest and i would recommend it to anyone BUT please people take it easy at first until you get you "VR legs" or you may feel sick.
Once you get used to VR you will be able to stay longer and longer and pay attention to the comfort rating it's very important plus give yourself some room around yourself.
The neck pain comes from overuse of the muscles, like every new activity you suppose to take it step by step.
After that VR is truly amazing get a Quest or if you got a PS5 get the PSVR or any other affordable to you and have fun !👍
I'm reluctant to admit it, but this technology doesn't really offer anything groundbreaking--maybe except for the price tag. I'll be genuinely excited when we have a technology that allows me to place two small devices on my temples and immerse myself in a simulated environment directly through my vision. While we are heading towards such innovations, the Apple "Whatever" Pro, unfortunately, isn't the breakthrough I'm looking for.
Good luck to you find a your breakthrough product.
It is a very lonely device. It is only going to increase depression and suicide rates. Returning it is in everybody's best interest.
Minion Mania 🤣The only thing missing is the minion wear
They need new eyes like Tom Cruise in Minority report 😂😂😂😂
He's on the news!!!!!
Even the PS VR gives me headaches or eye strain when I wear it too long. So I'm not surprised some people are facing the same problems with the Apple Vision.
Apple designed this product before COVID, and ignores that 30% of people infected sufferers from vertigo, and around 18% of motion sickness. These are side effects of the contagion. So having that helmet produces a terrible effect to people like me, with these affections. Even emular reading glasses are giving nausea to people who had COVID. 3% of them can’t use reading glasses for more than 15 minutes. This was published back in October on CBS news…..I guess it is bad timing for Apple…..
THEIR NOT GOING TO SAY HOW MANY RETURNS CUZ SAYING THAT COULD CAUSE EXCESSIVE RETURNS
It hurt eyes
Watching this, I couldn't help but reflect on the power of resilience and the strength found in reconnecting with our childlike wonder.
Could you explain more on what you mean?
This is pure brand addiction(Guys this is just a VR headset)
karens buying technology and realizing it’s not magic: 😐😐
Most bought it PLANNING on returning it. Give it time. VR is AMAZING!!! I use the BigScreen Beyond headset and it's just so mind blowing!
A lot of people wasn't going to keep the product. They wanted to use the product for a review or content on their RUclips and or TikTok channel.
Short answer: it makes them look like a bunch of idiots while wearing it in public
'Why bring it to dinner with friends?'
Because you want your friends to share in a cool new gadget experience. That's what friends do. Bonding activities.
They're returning it because they realize it's just a novelty and there is no killer use case that really justifies the price.
At least half of the people bought it knowing they wouldn’t keep it
Just because something can be carried does not mean it's appropriate to use it in public. If someone sat down at a restaurant table and started playing a movie on their phone or whatnot, it would be inappropriate and rude. This is not a device to use while interacting with other people face to face.
Wonder if I will find a pair of these tossed out soon! 😂🤣
I feel like the main reason people are returning it is because with $4000 you’re better off getting a iPad or a MacBook because the Vision Pro is not made for walking outside. It’s not portable what is not supposed to be you can only use the Vision Pro inside. I also feel like a lot of people bought it just to make content and then they’re gonna return it afterwards and then the people who do decide to keep it. I feel like they’re just keeping it to show people that they have money.
Not surprised at all. This is what happens when you rush through production without taking the time to get it right.
Something Steve Jobs was meticulous at with his products before releasing them.
Blood vessels bursting lol
