- Girls Aloud singer Sarah Harding, 39, who had breast cancer, passed away this Sunday morning, her mother has said. She had been battling breast cancer, hitting a double blow of being younger person to catch it and at the beginning of Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic lockdown in 2020 that delayed her seeking treatment. Like so many other cancer patients in the UK alone, you may have heard about or know, who have also died due to treatments being slowed or cut. She would have turned 40 in November this year.
Sarah wrote in her memoir earlier:
"In December my doctor told me that the upcoming Christmas would probably be my last." She said she didn't want an exact prognosis, just "comfort" and to be "pain-free".

I was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer in 2014, then again in 2018! I had to have an operation that had a 35% success rate of survival! I cannot imagine what Sarah must’ve been going through knowing that he life was going to end! Even after all the shit I’ve been through, it doesn’t compare to her situation 💙 Sleep Well (pop) Princess, make sure you entertain the angels 💕

As heartbreaking today as it was when it happened. Part of me literally refuses to believe it. She seemed so energetic, such a firework, so full of life. The sooner this disgusting disease is eradicated the better. We have lost FAR TOO MANY amazing people to cancer. God rest her soul.
Exactly how she was you nailed it! Watching clips of the reunion tour and seeing Sarah on screen brought me here with a lump in my throat, to think I'm turning 42 next month and she didn't reach 40 is extremely sad and I got lucky 5 years ago with my diagnosis, 3 ops and 5 years later I can carry on, sadly Sarah couldn't I hope the tour and her honouring by the girls brings more awareness and donations to eradicate this awful evil once and for all, it also took my late nan who was my everything and also full of life, like Sarah was such a force of nature beautiful lady, thoughts go to her loved ones.

I just recently found out, been listening to Girls Aloud through the years and watched her old videos from Popstar, I am so happy she got to live a life showing the world her talent

Cancer is insidious and doesnt care how brightly your star is shining. This is why it is so very heartbreaking. When a wonderful person is taken before they even reach their prime it leaves those who love them shocked beyond belief, stupefied and with tremendous devastation. And they will always wonder what might have been.

Absolutely heartbreaking. She didn't even reach her 40th birthday. I can't believe she's gone. Always thought she had the best voice and personality in the band. So real and down to earth! If only she had got the lump checked out in the beginning, there might have been a chance for her. Life is so cruel. RIP Sarah Harding.
Sad thing is, they don't look into breast cancer as a risk officially until 40.. I also worry about this as I am almost 38.
Mammograms do not detect lumps if you have dense breast tissue. So another words they’re worthless. Ultrasound is the way to go. There are amazing cancer clinics in Mexico that are helping women with breast cancer. Early detection is key. Keep your lymph system moving by eating alkaline foods. Fruit fruit fruit
The nhs in England is terribly ageist when it comes to young people.
When I had my 40th birthday, I didn’t care that it was in lockdown - I was just grateful to have made it. Make sure you cherish every moment because tomorrow isn’t promised.

My dearest friend died of breast cancer at 34 after battling against it for 6 years. She left behind 3 little children, diagnosed when the youngest was just 5 months old. Unfortunately it can happen at any age, so please don’t delay getting any abnormality checked out by your GP, it’s always better to be safe than sorry. I didn't know of her being in the USA, but it saddens everyone that Ms Harding has died. She appeared like all of us to want to die in dignity and pain free. My heartfelt condolences to her grieving Mum and her family and friends. I feel in my bones that we have lost a keeper.

Bless her heart she was so young. Sending prayer to her family as well as extended family. Even though she wasn't healed in the physical she got her healing in the spiritual. I'm glad she isn't in no more pain. People with Cancer goes through so much with Chemo & Radiation. I lost my Aunt at 48 it's the worst site to see when a person pass of it😥
Omg I’m so sorry to hear this. I didn’t know she was suffering. I offer my condolences to her family. I know I’ve been through the cancer experience with my mum who passed away. She had stage 4 cancer which was under control for over a year. Then it turned out it was still spreading on her liver. She died in July and I saw it all how it got worse. I know what her family maybe going through
