"Shiny" - A Trolls Band Together Velvet Animatic (READ DESCRIPTION)

- So I made this whole thing because I saw a picture of Branch with his frosted tips at the end of the movie before I saw Trolls 3. While I was watching the movie I assumed he'd get captured at some point, or when Floyd bit the dust the other brothers would give up some of their talent to bring him back. But they went with the power of love, or family, or whatever.
Then I remembered that Moana existed and thought the crab's song fit really well with Velvet's pride and Branch's struggle.
Floyd's fine btw, he's still in the air vent with Tiny Diamond.
Basically after this the movie goes on as normal where the brothers and Poppy have to go save Branch instead of the other way around. I thought it would've been a good end for JD's arc to be the one that realized that they didn't need to be perfect to be in harmony. I also liked the idea that Branch's arc would've been to see his family finally come back for him instead of him fighting to save them (which is what I think the original draft of the plot was).

It would’ve been cool to see you like what they would’ve done with branch if they had captured him if he have been like a back up or would they have made them like a belt buckle or an extra piece of their suit suit? It’s just really interesting to see what they could’ve done and this fit perfectly.!😊❤😮🤔🤗🤭🫢

That’s why I created this, I was SO curious to see how it would’ve went. But I understand why the creators didn’t want their main character in a bottle the entire movie

You know, if you're interested... I had another great idea for a Trolls 3 animatic... I just rewatched High School Musical 3: Senior Year, and after listening to the song, I Want it All between Sharpay and Ryan, it actually made me think of Velvet and Veneer! Like the animatic could take place when Veneer is having doubts about continuing to drain Floyd's esscence since it's slowly killing him, and Velvet sings the song to try to convince him otherwise.
There were a lot of requests for a part 2 so I’ll definitely check out any song recommendations that anyone has. If you have any others don’t hesitate to send them my way!

OMG this is better than like your willow animatic and your owl house animatics I mean the drawings are more accurate in the song choice. Perfect.
I’ve had a lot of practice in animation, and since this is a one off I don’t have to worry about consistency over a whole project. This was a lot of fun to make and I’m glad you liked it!

By all means write whatever you want! I’m never going to stop someone’s creative flow. That being said I already have the story planned out in a way that works for what I want to animate, but if you have a good song recommendation for me to animate to I’ll absolutely look into it!

I did look into female covers of shiny, but I didn’t want to use songs from smaller creators if I wasn’t sure I could get their permission. I have no problem using a song owned by a mega corporation tho because I don’t care about their opinion

A continuation is planned sometime down the line because everyone has been requesting part 2 :). I’m in the middle of an Owl House AU project so I’ll be finishing that first before starting on anything else

Procreate Dreams! I don’t know if it’s the best software to use as a beginner but if you’ve had animating experience then it’s a pretty good program! I personally like it because I can have it on a tablet that can travel with me. For my previous videos I had Adobe Animate and setup that required a computer and could only animate in one place, which didn’t really work for my situation.

Veneer will play a slightly bigger roll in my next Trolls animatic, but that’s the extent that I have planned. I’m working on an Owl House project right now and I’ll get started on Trolls sometime after that

It would be cool if we actually saw that seen the movie how she put the trolls in the diamonds but still this is really good. You should be a film Director because your animation is fire.
