I love how she does the "little maui having trouble with his look" thing to her son gladion, a character thats definitely more edgy then the others besides guzma, especially compared to his family, so it makes it sound like she's saying that she's disgusted and or doesn't accept him, in her own twisted way
She's disapproving of everyone who doesn't dress as she says, actually. She mentions it in the first meeting with her. Ironically, her _giant crystal and cocoon hair_ are horrible, even for anime standards.
That's literally how she is about Gladion's clothes in-game.
Its hard to be darker than implied to be beaten with golf clubs by parents and having a shit ton of wine next to him when you battle him in po town.

Added to brain canon: it was Nebby, personally, that caused Mohn's accident. It would make sense of why she seemed to hate Nebby so much she wouldn't mind it dying to open up ultra space...

I really love this theory. It would also explain why Lillie isn’t mad at it. She was too young to remember what caused the accident.
More likely the experiment that went wrong and caused Mohn to lose his memory is the one that brought Nebby into their world. So even if Nebby wasn't personally responsible, she would still blame it. Kinda like losing a mother in childbirth and the father blaming the child, only reversed

"The universe" is a bit of a stretch, but yeah, Lusamine was easily one of the most threatening villains in pokemon, aside from Cyrus and Ghetsis.

mk gaming That doesn’t mean the Pokemon Company shouldn’t put in the effort to make it a good story WITH good characters. Pokémon’s fans are in a variety of ages and having a younger target demographic doesn’t give them excuses. Children are much smarter than content creators give them credit for, and while stories help unite both the older and the newer fanbase, children can get invested into stories as well.
@@mk_gamíng0609 I've always paid attention to stories in games. Hell, it's why I play some. Even when I was a child I would tend to pay more attention to the story than actually becoming good.
mk gaming coming from someone who technically still a child I usually play games for the story AND gameplay- like Tremodie said most kids are smarter then they are given credit for by most kid content makers. I honestly don’t like most of the anime compared to the games when it comes to storyline because the games usually are darker.

I always found it hilarious that literally no one has a dad in Sun and Moon. Hau doesn’t, the protagonist obviously doesn’t, and Lilie and Gladion had one until he got wormholed. The only one I know of that has a father is Guzma. Which is funny.

Yeah the main problem I had with Pokémon ultra sun/moon is that she just becomes a magically good because lily and her “had a talk” OFFSCREEN and for the rest of the game she becomes the least interesting character in the game aside from maybe the rival but with modern Pokémon games most the rivals are the exact same grinning all the time happy go lucky character but with different appearances

As someone who's only seen the anime, I am incredibly dissapointed that Lusamine didnt end up like this. The game version sounds WAY more interesting than whatever Lusamine was in the anime
Wouldn’t be the first time the anime was robbed of a superior villain character who’s also the parent of the deuteragonist.
She was haunting, cold and calculating, not caring about anything human or the ethics of anything, it just wasnt part of the equation at all if a hundred people and pokemon would be hurt, even if one of them was Lily.... It was really chilling and great

No, the anime is a million times better. It gives all the characters so much more depth and nuance and character and deeper character relationships and just fleshes them all out so much more. Lusamine from the games is 1-dimensional in comparison. Seems it was too subtle for most people though since it relies more on visual storytelling though (as it should).

Ok, Anime Luasamine is basically a whole different person than game lusamine. She loves Lillie and hates the ather foundation, she didn't go into the wormhole on purpose it was an accident and team skull has nothing to do with her, she is mad at her own employees, and its clear lillie is mean to lusamine and not the other way around

I haven’t watched the Alola anime, but what you said about Anime Lusamine being different is why I kinda hate Ultra Sun and Moon. I prefer the original Lusamine from the first Sun and Moon games. Ultra Sun and Moon makes her this well-meaning character with only some controlling tendencies instead of the abusive figure she was in the original and kinda seemed like they sweep her original behavior under the rug with that game.

I played ultra sun and watched the anime before finding out how she was and I prefer evil lusamine
Bruh. I really hate how hard they still tried to paint Lusamine as a bad guy in the anime too. The only problem she has was that she was overbearing. She was a good mom and I can see why she would've wanted to have her eyes on Lillie and give her as much affection possible. Her husband got sucked into a wormhole and her son ran away with absolutely no explanation. Of course shed be afraid of losing Lillie! She was also completely oblivious to what was going on with faba, and when nihilego came around, she literally sacrificed herself to save her children.
Don't get me wrong though, I still love and prefer lusamine from the games. I just hate how they try to portray the very loving mother version as a bad person when she's not...

Aah I'll forever resent the anime for dropping the ball here. Especially with Delia having an increased presence in Alola. Imagine her showing up to tear down this terrible mother! It would be beautiful.
This was in my recommendations for a while, but I never got around to watching it. I watched the remaking video, and now finally came back to watch the original. I can see why it is so popular, and I am excited to watch the remake!

Don't get me wrong, I love the Sun and Moon anime, just... I would've loved it a lot more if Lusamine was like this and they didn't change the reason why Lillie and Gladion ran away. Just like, I like dark stuff and Lusamine doing this stuff just strikes out at me more than what they did in the anime

I hate how the anime changed her and kinda the whole siblings backstory. The reason Lillie and Gladion ran away was because she was abusing them and the pokemon. They didnt like it and ran away with different pokemon. But no, the anime just HAS to be kid friendly. Ok then

They weren't his canonically in the games. He actually stole the Nulls because he felt they were being treated wrongly. However, he only got away with one. The reason you get one of the others is because Lusamine changes from good to evil. I think technically Hau gets the other one but never uses it.
