  • Sally Norton joins Dr. Kevin Stock for a Snack about Toxic Superfoods, notably oxalates, and how “healthy” foods can be wrecking your health.
There is a strong belief that plants are superfoods. However, they can have negative effects on human health! Sally uncovers these mysteries in this Snack as well as her new book, Toxic Superfoods.
    In this Snack, Sally discusses:
How responsible are oxalates for the myriad of symptoms that people are having these days?
What are the worst offenders of oxalates?
What would a diet low in oxalates look like?
Are you against high vitamin C supplementation or eating a lot of fruit?
Are oxalates contributing to gut damage?
Don’t forget to check out her book that you can pre-order here

Sally's videos have taught me so much about plant oxalates and their harmful effects. I'm mostly carnivore for about 3 years now (vegetarian for decades before that), and I've noticed that I don't miss veggies at all. I cook for my husband, who still eats them, but they don't even appeal to me.
I often think of how children are typically resistant to eating them, and how parents force them or try to make the veggies more palatable with sauces.
Still unlearning so much at 66! I wonder what's next...
    Thank you for the video.

Definitely want to hear more about oxalates! I am not willing to become a full on carnivore so would like more information on how to navigate vegetables. I was drinking spinach smoothies in the morning and getting sicker and sicker so of course would eat more so called superfoods to get better and was making myself sicker. I have started a low oxalate diet and am already feeling better but there is a lot of confusing information out there .

Good comment and hope you’re feeling better soon! If I was you I would take out one at a time those super high oxalate foods first….then after awhile get her book to see what you are eating that could be still high and eliminate those! I still do chocolate but I have found after going low oxalate I really HATE the high oxalate and bitter dark chocolate. I only eat Lily’s milk chocolate chips that are only like 33% cocoa.

Toxic Superfoods sold out in fewer than 48 hours after its release here in the UK. The demand was so far beyond what the US publisher could handle that Amazon UK had to suspend taking new orders (as of this morning, they've started accepting orders again but warn of long delays). Fortunately, I pre-ordered my copy in August, and while waiting for that (still), I've started reading the Kindle version. Brilliant book.

Cheese makes the LDL too high, red meat causes cancer and raises cholesterol, wheat causes glucose spikes with too many carbs., and sugar is a no-no, and now, I have to check on the fruits and veges. honestly, I'm not sure what to eat.

I was Carnivore for 5 months and then I had severe oxalate dumping. I have gone back to my previous lifestyle of Keto with an eye toward Keto-vore soon. I was Keto for years prior to finding Carnivore. I don't really like vegetables so Carnivore was a revelation. Someone recommended that I check out this lady. I recently "attempted" the carnivore diet but I only got two weeks in before I started to experience really severe joint pain in both hands, both knees and top and base of my spine. I also developed a small lump on my little finger knuckle. Very weird. I still have the pains 5 weeks on. I have returned to a "balanced" diet but I have left out grains and am pretty low carb. I have no idea what is happening to me. But I have been told this might be oxalate dumping?Any ideas would be most welcome...anyone?

is good for you, actually very good for you. And what about vitamin C? What about Linus Pauline And his megadoses vitamin C seems like people are still that cause it seems to be successful for fighting off colds and such, and that there was a lot of research behind that.
