Jim, I must say that you are the best in describing the pros and cons of the clubs selected. You have helped me in making a decision and that is the Srixon irons. Keep up the great and I enjoy your insights.
Ordered the ZX7 in the 5 and 6 iron to match with z945s from 7 - PW that I currently game. Can't wait for them to show up. I'm so glad Srixon went back to their Tour V.T. Sole design on these irons. This design was game changing for me on the 45 series irons so I'm excited to be able to match these new mid irons to my current z945s. Srixon hit these out of the park this year.
if you are on side hill lie the notch also prevents the heel from hitting the turf first … smart design. definitely considering a set of the ZX5/7 combo
I was a guy that purchased new irons every 6 months until I purchased a blended set of Z585/Z785 two years ago. I’m still gaming them for another two weeks. The reason I’m changing is for a blended set of ZX5/ZX7 irons. One of the reasons for changing is that the acoustics of the Z585 and Z785 were very different. That has been changed with the new line up.
Have recently received the ZX7 A-6. Ordered 105 Nippon S but they sent 120 S. I hit them so good I just kept them. I know the heavier is more stable and since I am still getting good yardages, I will play them. They are long and the feel is butter. They are very forgiving. Horrible feeling off center hits are still not bad shots. Within reason. But still way better than any past models I have played. As far as mixing 5's and 7's, you can stop the 7's at a 7 and start the 5's at a 7 iron and not have to bend lofts and throw the bounce off. I play all zx7's up to a 6 iron and use hybrids from there. Hybrids are way easier and a lot more forgiving than irons in the long irons. They go longer, higher and bite much better. Anyone that doesn't play hybrids is missing out. I use 2020 SIM's and they are amazing. As are the fairways and Driver. Callaway MD5's 60 and 54.
aren't these just the best reviews on youtube. they really are excellent!!! I am really tempted by these Srixons. the v-sole looks great but all the reviews have them as top quality. a little on the high side for price as they align with the other bigger brands but still look an excellent club. thanks again for the review!
I recently had the opportunity to try the srixon zx7 on the course with a graphite shaft (7 iron lefty) against the following doing the same shots each over five full golf rounds: jpx921; p770;p7mc;cobra forged tec. I should add that I used to game some years ago the z565 set in graphite shaft. The results for me were interesting both in terms of performance, drop off, flight, feel using my gamer ball on on different courses too and in different conditions etc 1. Jpx921 sel; p7mc; zx7; p770;cobra forged tec.
Great video Jim really like the look of the zx5. Is the modus 105 similar to the kbs 105? Have you had any experience with the elevate 105? Have a good one Kevin
Greetings Kevin from bitterly cold (10 F) from Kitchener, Ontario. Great question! If anyone would know, it would be Jim. Can't wait for his comparison. Have a great day!
The modus and elevate red label are closest., The lower flight is the KBS, There is an elevate ets black label, where is has the same feel just a bit lower flight
The 7 and the cb are on plane with each other. IMO both are great, if you prefer a more traditional style then the cb hands down. If you are looking for something a bit outside the box then zx
@@McGolf Going to be hard to play anything other than Wilson after playing V4 and combo C300 Forged and V6 but Srixon have good shaft options. Thanks for your comment.
I will try hitting the new ZX4 and see how forgiving the are for my swing. I’m in a Ping G graphite game improvement iron now. Hit their new G425 irons on Trackman and saw no improvement in performance, not $1000+ more. 😉
I'm a lefty & the one thing I can never figure out is why they don't make a matching approach wedge in left hand. Srixon offers a 3 iron though. Do they really think they would sell more 3 irons than approach wedges? Pretty sure not. Lefty golfers are a small market share & lefty golfers good enough to bag a 3 iron are a microscopic share. Seems to be stupid not to make the approach wedge.
Yo Mr. Kotter- I got a question. I found out when I put some x flex shafts (graphite) in some of my short irons(normally play stiff) it made them draw big time and I had to have the lies adjusted from what I normally play. I have a new bang golf fairway wood(standard lie angle 58 in a 4 wood) that I absolutely luv- but it is going way out to the right and I was wondering if I switched from a S to a X in the same shaft would that bring it back to the left like it did in the irons.
In the shorter irons the draw could be a result of the added weight and or you know the. X is in the shaft and you are pulling the club. As for the FW, unless your swing speed is very high or the swing is aggressive you you probably would need to shorten the club a bit. Choke down and see what happens first
@@McGolf Chokein down might do the trick- I make all of my clubs longer and that has worked in the past- if it doesnt work I might try adding some lead tape which has never really worked for me for some reason. I actually hit a few straight on the range by toein the club in-which feels really awkward especially with a wood.
I just couldn’t get along with them, ZX5 was a tad harsh on impact and the ZX7 was only average all around. Love the looks, liked the sole, but just didn’t differentiate overall.
I used to play callaway and ping and last year switched to srixon z585 irons and cleveland hb turbo woods and haven't looked back. I've hit the new z5 and z7 and got no performance benefits against my z585s so will keep them a little longer
You said there is a 3* difference from the ZX7 6 iron and the ZX5 6 iron. It is only 1 degree. 27* and 28*. At least that is what Srixons specs are saying.
As a Srixon dealer now, are you able to get some of the older heads or iron sets if available? I have been looking at the 565's because of cost. Thanks...Dale

Played a combo set of 565 and 765. Loved them. My ZX5/ZX7/Z Forged combo set on a FedEx truck as I type this. Cannot wait to get home today!!!
Great looking irons, I had a set a few years ago,,,,,you are correct, every set that I’ve bought needed L&L adjusted.
Hi Jim, Love it when you hit some shot while still wearing your shop apron, classic. Stay well
Check out the live stream monday I " should "have a new one

Just got fit for the ZX5 at my local shop. I've just been staring at them for the last week :) Lol

I live in Cincy, I need to come see you and get fit for the ZX5
I just put them on the new ALL FIT adapters they look pretty darn good
Great review Jim. Question: When will the lofts become static? Very interested to see when a 7 iron will stay the same.
probably never
Same 'problem' with Mizuno really...theyre soft forgings so need checking regularly.
Great soft feel/noise from them 👍
Want a set but delivery is just before Xmas. Shit ! It's only early September !
Thanks for the video! How would you compare the zx5 to the wilson d7 forged? Debating between the two. I guess zx5 is a more forgiving club?
To answer your question, "beautiful looking Irons" and they don't disappoint👍

I ask that question too amen!
What about the new ZX4?
waiting for them to come in for testing

How would you compare the Modus 105 compare the kbs 105 in these ZX5 ?
Both are great. The Kbs will feel a bit more stiff but is not
Where these a 1/2" longer than stated like the ZX4 where?
For them it would be standard on the length however when compared to the other clubs they are long
I just couldn’t get along with them, ZX5 was a tad harsh on impact and the ZX7 was only average all around. Love the looks, liked the sole, but just didn’t differentiate overall.
some wont like them for the width that why the rearward bounce angle is so steep.
In my opinion they are now the best golf company going. I would put their clubs against any other clubs.b
The irons are right up there for sure.

sorry no Dale, when the sell out they become out of stock
they say nothing feels like a Mizuno 😂😂 the zx7 is damn close if not better.
and the modus 105 shaft has brilliant feel
Sri on doesn’t make wedges or putters. Cleveland is partnered with them and make wedges and putters. You will never see a pro with a 14 club deal.
Actually srixon bought Cleveland and used their distribution network. However I would agree on the 14 club deal.
