I just ordered the bench and the 4 attachments after watching your videos. I am about to order this lever gym from learning all the versatility from this series
I’m never seen the ratio. It’s not as straightforward as most functional trainers or pulldown machines because the arm moves in an arc (which will likely have an impact), rather than vertically on rods.
I will second what William said. It feels smoother than a carriage that travels along guide rods. I found the Levergym pulley system easier / lighter than the Power Rack attachment when performing the same exercise with the same weight.
another good workout. its a different way of training for sure, but whatever works for each person. Its all good. Its good you get a lot of use from your leverage gym. money well spent for you..Thanks
Thank you! Exactly, we all need to find what works best for us…and what works now, may not always work. The Levergym really is the best money I’ve ever spent for home gym equipment. While I think I like the Rhino best because it gives me a chance to squat heavy, the Levergym is by far the most used and most versatile piece of equipment I have.
@@HomeGymHacksandReviews i understand. i find myself doing things a bit differently this go around with my working out than i did years ago. NO longer do i care about how much i lift or if i hit a certain rep number every time. I just do what i can.Days like today ill be doing a full body workout high reps low weight. On this day i do like to get at least 15 reps but go up to 20 if i can.Its basically just to burn some calories, get some blood flowing and give me a bit of a pump..AND lets face it. Thanks for these videos! I bought the levergym because of you. Your damn strong man keep it up! Where’d you get that awesome bench? Most benches I found are pretty small for my taste.
Do you have the IM 2000? I really like the Ironmaster Super Bench Pro and I don’t think you should have any regrets. All of Powertec’s prices are going up in 2 days, so if you want to get a Levergym, now would be the time to do it.
@@HomeGymHacksandReviews No, I don't have the IM 2000. I'm thinking about it. Overall, I think I would probably be happy if I purchased it. From a bench/attachment perspective, it looks like I'd like having the lever arms and powertec's attachments. I can't say it is buyers remorse. Overall, I am happy with the IronMaster bench. HI! I'm basically watching all your videos about this machine 🤣 I wanted to ask you about the lat machine / pulley the maximum weight supported (120kg) is heavy? I'm asking because I'm afraid it's not a training weight for me, what feedback do you have?💪🏻
can you do a review of the power tec smith machine with a full work for chest shoulders.......thinking about getting one but want to see if it is stable enough.....
On this machine, I really haven’t found a great substitute for a back extension. You could do a deadlift-style motion with the lever arms, although it would be a pretty short range of motion unless you stood on something like a plyo box…which I have not tried on this machine. A cable extension could also work, but it’s not something I’ve tried.
@@HomeGymHacksandReviews thanks for replying bro, would you say the high low pulley is also more realistic in the sense that it would transfer better over to pull-ups? I felt like the pull-down on the leverage gym (at a show room) was a bit of an unnatural resistance curve
@@solslastcannula5665 I think the difference in the way one “feels” over the other is marginal. Also, I’ve never found the Levergym’s cable system to have an unnatural resistance profile although it is approximately a 2:1 and it is a lever arm attached to a cable that moves in an arc. As for pull-ups, I don’t really think there is a substitute for pull-ups, but with that being said, it should help some.
Tough call because they serve different purposes on different days…but if you insist, the Rower. The bike is just so hard. I can row for 20 minutes at a comfortable pace or crush the rower for 500 meters. Also, the rower is a more comfortable seat. Plus, the bike is loud and even with the wind guard, 1/2 the time I think my Bloodsport movie poster is going to go flying off the wall.
Thanks so much. This series could work for you. You may only want to do one set of each exercise I show. Or you could do a full body 3x week program. Pick one exercise for each muscle group and do 2-3 sets. Also, at some point, I will create a full-body routine using only the Levergym.
I have an older version of Powertec and there is no leg rest for pulling. How to solve this issue?Did they come with the kit? Can you show them in more detail?
I thought all the Powertec Levergym models came with leg rollers. If you have the squat bar, you can attach that to the Lever Arms to hold yourself down. I have a quite a few videos for the Levergym where you can see it up closer including, Building My Powertec Spare Bedroom Gym.
@@HomeGymHacksandReviews Thank you friend. I'm from Russia. I am writing through a translator. I realized that this is a separate option of the WB-LRFPA18. I bought a trainer 7 years ago. There was no such foot rest. I'll try to do as you said.
Do you use the same exercises for your push/pull/legs routine twice a week, or do you have 2 different exercises say like a standard OHP for one workout and than a seated OHP for the next workout?
I usually have an A and B workout. When I was doing DC there is an A, B, and C workout. For this video series, if someone can only workout 2-3 times a week, this may be all they need.
The flat press on the LG is a little awkward because the lever arms’ attachment site is high…I show a couple ways to fix this in my 3rd Lever Gym Hack Series. Are you using the arms Isolaterally? It could also be one of your arms is stronger than the other.
Can you explain why if you fail to get 13 reps you are going to get rid of this exercise? I'm not experienced in lifting so if you are failing I would think you would want to work harder not get rid of it. I'm sure I'm missing something.
I track each exercise in my logbook with how many sets and reps I perform from workout to workout. If I fail to beat the logbook a few times in a row, I swap that exercise out for a different exercise, but I will eventually return to it. There are plenty of ways to go about this, and yes, as you said, I can continue to try or change parameters for that exercise (change the angle of the bench, swap out cable attachments, change foot positions, add bands, etc.). Swapping out exercises after failing to beat the log book multiple times in-a-row comes from DC Training.
I wish I knew. It is over 30+ years old. There are no markings to indicate the manufacturer. There is the possibility it is an extremely well-made homemade bench. My dad passed it down to me.
It definitely is. I’ve never used the Powertec stand-alone pulldown machine, but I’ve had 3 of the Power Rack attachments, and I think it’s just as good…the same amount of weight feels lighter, but still just as smooth.
I have. I have some old grizzly ab straps that have been collecting dust. When I plateau with the bar (which looks like it’s going to happen soon), I might switch over. Thanks for the reminder.
No. I tried that for a while and it wasn’t for me. I just don’t have my first real meal until after my morning workout because of my work schedule and preference to work out first thing in the morning.
Just got my Levergym put together yesterday. Can't wait to try it out this weekend.

I have a review for the Powertec Smith Machine, which I posted a couple months ago. I also show it in use quite a bit on Instagram.
How would you work your lower back (similar to a back extension machine)?
On this machine, I really haven’t found a great substitute for a back extension. You could do a deadlift-style motion with the lever arms, although it would be a pretty short range of motion unless you stood on something like a plyo box…which I have not tried on this machine. A cable extension could also work, but it’s not something I’ve tried.
For the lieing down curl, what’s your guess how much total chain you’ve got there?
It’s 1’. If you are really tall, a longer chain may be required.
Latpulldown wise, what was better - the high low pulley attachment on the power rack or the leverage gym?
The high low pulley attachment. It has a greater weight capacity, a 1:1 pulley ratio, and the option to add a selectorized stack.
@@HomeGymHacksandReviews thanks for replying bro, would you say the high low pulley is also more realistic in the sense that it would transfer better over to pull-ups? I felt like the pull-down on the leverage gym (at a show room) was a bit of an unnatural resistance curve
