Man Giants and 49ers is such an underrated rivalry so many great games between these 2 classic franchises

This was a good prequel to the NFC Championship Game, which was a classic!!
Totally. The Giants vs Packers game that year was also a really good regular season game. It ended with the Packers winning 38-35. The Giants also faced off against the Patriots in the regular season too, except they actually won that one. It's crazy, the Giants beat the Patriots twice that season. Lol

@@devinjerry2780 it wasn't the aesthetics. It had narrow concourses, not enough bathrooms and concessions. Going to get a hotdog and a drink and use the bathroom would take 45 minutes. Then you had to pay $50 to park in mud that took 1+ hr to get out of
Underrated game ... Not to many ppl were expecting a rematch in the NFC Champ that year either ....

This loss was so frustrating at the time, I wanted another try at the Niners real bad after this game. And we got em back later on. Kyle Williams will forever be a Giants hero

@Hector Rodriguez As a Giants fan Eli should've won the MVP that season period.The Packers had the best record that season but Eli was the best QB that year.15 4th quarter TDS,6 game winning drives,he had the 27th ranked defense and 32nd ranked rushing attack.He took a 9-7 to the SB and won.Rodgers had great numbers and his team had a better record but even when they played earlier in the season Eli went play for play with Rodgers.
2011 i wanna say packers gave up the most yards in nfl history which made rodgers 2011 that much more impressive

@Hector Rodriguez That's why it was great as a niner fan. They didn't come out of nowhere for us - we knew they had tons of talent that was wasted by bad coaching. Once we got Harbaugh we knew we would be good.
Delanie Walker was a really great chess piece to have. Needed a good, consistent blocker, he could do it. Catcher out of the backfield or downfield, he could do it. He was truly a do it all football player!

2011 where are the 49ers had the best offense of line with Alex Smith a good wide receiver corps with Ted Ginn Junior, Braelin Edwards And Michael Crabtree and tight ends such as Vernon Davis and Delane Walker (I could be wrong) and they’re running back Frank Gore vs super Bowl champions (before they went back to their)Eli Manning plus Victor Cruz, Mario Manningham, Hakeem Knicks and they’re tight end and is Ballard and the running back is Brandon Jacobs.
49ers receiving core was weak other than Vernon Davis

Braylon Edwards was awful on that team and kept dropping passes the same way he did in Cleveland. It was so bad the 49ers cut him by the end of November or something.
4900 yd almost 5000. Almost 30 Tds. Led the league and comebacks and game-winning drives. Led the league and set an NFL record with 15 4th quarter touchdown passes. Not to mention the manningham throat and the title!!!

This was the loudest 49ers game crowd I've ever attended, the energy at the stick with the 49ers returning to relevancy and there being a bunch of NY Giants fans in the building too, it was electric that day

Mathias Kiwanuka was an absolute beast at BC and he was very under rated in the NFL. I think the injuries had a big impact on that. Immense talent
This year for Eli was one of the greatest seasons a quarterback ever had. I don't care about numbers when you put it all together the greatest season a quarterback ever had!!!

The Giants literally had one of the hardest five-game stretches of all time during this time. They played three 13 win teams Pats Saints Niners all on the road and a 15 win team Packers at home. Only 'winnable" game was Eagles at home. Giants went 1 and 4 which you figured they would but the one win wasnt against the Eagles it was the Patriot game. But that one win was enough to keep them alive to eventually win the division and later the super bowl..
That Niners D was the most airtight defense of the 21st century and nobody pinpointed throws to beat it like Eli did that year.

the 2011 49ers are one my favorite team...they played there hearts out and thats when Jim Harbaugh.. people like Alex Smith, Frank Gore and Veron Davis as well like Joe Staley and Justin Smith...they been playing for the 49ers before this season where the 49ers were awful...so bad that the set records of lows on offense and defense....and if Ted Ginn Jr didnt get hurt in the playoff game against the Saints...he would been returner and wouldnt have fumble at all....
