We're feel honored that you enjoyed our takes of Guate! It's on of our favorite countries because of the wonderful people that inhabitant the land...the originals. Thank you for watching and commenting!
Antigua was very quiet and less touristy 42 years ago when I first visited. The character of the structures seem pretty much the same and well preserved. Consider going to Solola on market day. It's up around Lago Atitlan. The dominant tribe there has a wonderful fabric that they wear.
Hey! I had to chuckle when Y’all talked about the Founded dates. Melanin folks know “founded” is the code word for they ran all the natives off and then claimed the land. LOL. Lots of history to see, for sure. I have to say you guys get some of the best looking ABNBs. Thanks for another great tour. 😀
Ikr, let me go find me a new house or a bank or something...I'm sure I'd find myself behind bars...Yeah we luck up on some ABNBs but we've had some cruddy ones too. 🤣 Thanks for tuning in!
Antigua , my favorite place to visit in guate . No doubt that it has become a very expensive place , because of all the tourists. Good and bad for the city. You defetenely have to visit Tikal, the heart of the Mayan world.
I am 100% Guatemalan. My DNA results show not even 1% Spanish or European. Now does that mean I’m of Mayan decent? No idea. I was adopted from that country and everytime I visit, I fall in love with my country more and more everytime. Thanks for these videos! To see what my people went through or live or even just feel more connected through learning the history is so great
Antigua Guatemala has fast become one of Central America's most popular cities, and for good reason. A designated UNESCO World Heritage site, Antigua pulses with activity and boasts awe-inspiring architecture, absorbing culture and seriously impressive views.
Very nice video Yarbros!! You guys are professionals💯 it felt like a Saturday morning watching this one. The little girl and the hat lady...awesome moments💖 That Airbnb was 🔥 too. You guys be safe🙏🏼
I hope you're going to be in Antique foe semana santa, April 10-16. That's when everyone comes to Antique and it's one of the largest Semana Santa celebrations in the world. You'll be sorry if you miss it.
Buenos dias! I loved Antigua and spent 9 months there way back in 1994. A group of us decided to do a night ascent of Agua. For those reading Agua towers over Antgua at over 12,000 feet (3500 meters.) After we were dropped off, a local told us that a battle had happened at the base earlier that day and the guerrillas receded into the mountain. It was night so we weren't going to be able to go back to Antigua so decided to go ahead and climb Agua. I was hiking with two Germans and was about 90% of the way up the mountain. A combination of arriving that day to Guatemala, visiting a bar, a torrential downpour most of the hike, and some issue with acclimatization left me feeling sick. The Germans walked ahead of me. They were never seen again. It was thought the guerrillas may have killed them. About two thirds of the way up we could see Mt. Pacaya blowing up.

I just ran into your channel and I like your style, trying to get through the touristy surface of Antigua to understand more the Mayans. I just spent five months with them in Guatemala and the Yucatan and as you know, they are very sweet smiley people with a lot of sadness in their past. We all can learn a lot from them. Keep on making great videos.
Glad you found us and yes love the Mayan people and hat the way so many governments and people have actively tried to manipulate and destroy them. Thanks for watching!
I just found your channel and really enjoyed the video. I just like to comment on the idea of finding the ‘the real Mayan people’. There’s no such thing. Historically there was a Mayan civilization made by different groups of peoples. Drought, climate change, disease and civil unrest are some of the causes for the mayan civilization declining and then Spanish conquistadors where the final stroke but the people did not disappear. There are more than twenty DIFFERENT ethnic groups separated by language and culture. And you can see it just by looking at the different types of colors and patterns of their clothing. Similar situation in the US, there are many different cultures but we all live under the same government. We may called ourselves American or US citizens but there are differences depending on were your ascendants came from. YOU ARE LIVING MY DREAM! I live vicariously through you. Thank you 🙏🏽 😊
Yes, we find remnants of these civilizations throughout The Americas. Interesting to see the different cultures & physical characteristics that dominate certain areas sometimes living a city or two away. Humanity is such a celebration of diversity. Thanks fornwatching and commenting.

Hey there Yarbros! Awesome to see you again and in your new country Guatemala!! That is amazing. I am making my way to South and Central America. Welll...I have a little question for you, sorry not related to the video, BUT, I ended up leaving Portugal after 2 1/2 months and I am on my way to Puerto Morelos, Mexico on Friday. Is there a shuttle from Cancun airport to Puerto Morelos? The Airbnb host is telling me I should take a private car, but ummm....not! Any suggestions would be amazing. I know you all been all around Quintana Roo so I was just wondering if you may know what options I have. Thanks in advance!
So you have a couple of options during the b4 times we always took the coach. There is an ADO terminal at the airport where you can take a bus to the main terminal in Cancun city and then you can...to Puerto Morelos.....in the aftertimes we did a couple of private cars to Merida costly but convenient esp. for those red eye flight. Best of luck on your adventure!
Thanks guys for showing us the beauty of Guatemala. You must climb the Acatenango volcano, it is a unique experience where you can see the volcano of fire in eruption.
When at this city, visit as many eatery places this city has to offer. There are foods from others countries. Many small Cafes, breweries and wine places you may stop and enjoy a drink or two. Take a Tuc Tuc (motorcycle taxi) to give you a quick tour of the city ($30 two or three hours) and return on your own to those places you want to take your time getting to know more. I have been here for a few weeks and I had no idea about the Bosque. I understand that the people have no other way to make a living though. Hope you guys do make it to Atitlan. Looks beautiful…But, Dang, sad to hear it is so touristy! (More so than Oaxaca?) I really don’t like nagging street vendors/one after another, really annoying. (In Oaxaca, I learned to stop being so polite to them after saying no thanks 2-3 times, and they would still try and ask you 4 more times.😡No mas!

Great country.
You guys need to go to Hobbitenango near Antigua!
ok
Beautiful city and great local people!!! 👍
Guate's ppl are unbelievable! Love them!
Did you guys delete el Salvador vid?
Our lives are only active for 24hrs then they are solely for our Patreons (which anyone can become for as low as $1/ month).
The official El Salvador video will be dropping tomorrow evening though.
Amazing
Looks beautiful…But, Dang, sad to hear it is so touristy! (More so than Oaxaca?) I really don’t like nagging street vendors/one after another, really annoying. (In Oaxaca, I learned to stop being so polite to them after saying no thanks 2-3 times, and they would still try and ask you 4 more times.😡No mas!
Girl I had ro do the same thing 2 guys followed us around till Rondel got rude 😐 That was the only bad part they were relentless.
Oaxaca is big enough that you can easily escape the vendors. Antigua is tiny and there's really no avoiding them in the centro.
Pls note what is going on in El Salvador right now…danger. ruclips.net/video/2KrF6TsQvr4/видео.html
