From being separated and having to live in a border with Mexico to be able to see him and me surviving a horrible car accident and him being there every step of the way through my recuperation. I am the youngest of the 5 and about to be 28 and he still shows up for all of us. He’s truly an angel; always there for us. Now he’s the best granddad ever to our little ones. We are truly blessed. I also became a stepmom to my stepdaughter when she was 2 and 1/2 and she just turned 10 last Saturday. It’s been a crazy roller coaster but I’d do it all over again. I already had 2 kids when I met my husband. My ex has never been in my kids lives and I never thought I would find anyone that would accept them as theirs. In 2015 I met my husband and he immediately accepted them and accepted that he was their dad. This year he was finally able to adopt them and legally be the dad that they need. It’s not blood that makes someone a dad. Anyone can be a father but it takes a special kind of person to a dad. Thank you Brandon for writing this song that many people need to hear.

I left him 14 months ago and we haven’t heard from him since but I have been with my current boyfriend for 8 months and he doesn’t have any kids of his own..but he sure did step up and fill that role. God blessed me with two little boys who CHOSE to love me, who still choose to love me 10 years later. God knew what kind of family i needed. I used to be so bummed because i missed so many firsts, but nothing compares to that moment you see yourself in them! And you realize dna is only a part of the big picture. My bonus boys saved my life! They drive me crazy, even when at its worst i wouldn't have god change a thing. This song is just so beautiful. My dad stepped up and helped my mom raise 5 children and none were his. Life has thrown curveballs left and right. From being separated and having to live in a border with Mexico to be able to see him and me surviving a horrible car accident and him being there every step of the way through my recuperation. I am the youngest of the 5 and about to be 28 and he still shows up for all of us. He’s truly an angel; always there for us. Now he’s the best granddad ever to our little ones. We are truly blessed. I also became a stepmom to my stepdaughter when she was 2 and 1/2 and she just turned 10 last Saturday. It’s been a crazy roller coaster but I’d do it all over again. I ended that one and swore i wasnt going to get into another one but i got a message on facebook one night about 8 months ago i never met him never talked to him before in my life but we grew up in the same town well i gave him a shot and December 24th he asked me to be his wife!
