About The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug:

Doesn’t get enough credit or attention because it came after the original trilogy. People were burnt out on the films, I think. I remember taking my first born, who’s 17 now, to see all of these three films. The scene where the father races to the tower to help his son shoot down the dragon, he reached into my lap and grabbed my hand and smiled at me as if to say, “we would do the same.” I get emotional thinking about it.
It’s nice to have memories like that…

Thank you. I sent this to my husband after I listened and cried because it's so true. He works two jobs so I can stay home with our little ones, and all he asks is to come home to a clean house, a warm dinner and a hug and kiss. He's a veteran and an amazing Man and we are so blessed by him

makes me cry everytime. Reminds me of my escape from the paradise fire in 2018. It was hollowing.
It is a great credit to a pop artist when metal bands cover your song. This one has so many metal covers I have lost count. A great song that crosses genres. I am not a fan of most pop artists as most top 40 stuff is formulaic, but Ed has a few songs that I have come to appreciate.

This is the heart of Tolkien, and the essence of his Christian Faith as well as a theme he weaves throughout his writings. This is beautiful because he's saying let's all decide to jump off the bridge and risk killing ourselves to save the other like we used to and see there is the other side beyond that because he's done with this side and he's seeing the beauty in his own submission to self defeat to his self destruction in nature and the nature of his ending. He envisions the world burning together to not be alone in his goodbye and yet it is his final wish to forget all of this world to move beyond his next destiny. Her* Amen.
