    I usually direct monitor from my interface and mute and turn off the monitor in tracks for whatever tracks I’m recording too. Only turn them back on when you mix. This helps a lot! ❤

    I"m glad you made the leap from DAWless to Ableton. I think the Digitakt and Ableton integrate amazingly well and I would not want to be w/o either. Looking forward to more Ableton vidz.

      Oh hell yeah- I already thought of a very barebones and simple way of using the Dgitakt as like a "spontaneous fill mode" within Ableton. Will prob do a video on it at some point.

    I got a Zoom LiveTrak L12 because I couldn't deal with daw latency anymore. Now it can record on the mulitrack and then transfer files to Ableton for mastering.

    Something that I would recommend Liam is to prepare your performance in the arrangement view. Group your tracks in stems and that'll help. Trust me

    If you just need a zero-latency safety limiter on the output, you can set up the regular Ableton Compressor as a limiter by setting the ratio to infinity and attack time to zero. If you hit it hard it won't sound as good as the Ableton Limiter but that doesn't matter as the entire point of a safety limiter is that you only get any gain reduction in an emergency, like when something breaks or you have feedback.

    Unfortunately not enough real world examples of how to mitigate latency issues when using a hardware software hybrid setup. There are tools like e-rm multiclock that try to fix such issues. Seed to stage had a good video on latency when recording.

    ..buuuuut... what about delay compensation? especially in the preferences window. you can scroll that number to get it to zero. and then there is the option to toggle individual track delays as well with those buttons on the master channel. i'd like to know how that factors in to the calculations of accumulated delay times. ..any thoughts? can the majority of delay times be offset with the tools ableton provided?

    • @LiamKillen
      @LiamKillen  Год назад

      Yes delay compensation is an option as mentioned in the video- but it will delay the entire track to compensate which will actually add even more latency to live midi parameter control.

    I'm a rock guitarist that uses Ableton. My fav guitar plugin is Clairvoyant. It sounds fantastic. When I hover the mouse over it it says it has 0 latency. But, once get 20 tracks with a lot of plugins for drum etc the Clairvoyant plugin starts getting latency issues badly. I've tried everything recommended in your video and others but nothing solves the problem. My CPU meter pegs around 40% when the plugin starts lagging. I wonder if my CPU is just gonna be a hard limitation I'll have to live with? I just don't see anyway around it.

    Hi, I have a Behringer umc22 U-phoria, i have installed Behringer and Asio AND ASIO4ALL drivers whcich i use to record on Ableton live 11. I reduced the buffer size from the ASIO4ALL v2.15 window that appears when i click on "Hardware settings", since it doesnt let me change it directly in the preferences menu. The buffer size is now 128, and the sample rate is 48000. I have an overall latency of 10.6ms, and yet, when I record an audio track, there still is a very notorious latency or delay when i try to sync up to the metronome. Is anyone else having of had this problem? What should I do? Please help.
