Thanks, I always hated items despawning in a mere 5 minutes, sucks when your chopping down trees. I put a repeating command block at 0 0 0 on my world and used /forceload to keep it loaded along with turning off command block output. I have a decent computer and haven't seen any lag, I normally play with a 64 chunk render distance and I'm still at 400 fps. Sometimes I get a minor fps drop when looking at caves but that's likely all the built-up blocks that haven't respawned, so I'm probably going to add the kill switch soon to clear out the entities.
Pro tip: if you're in Bedrock edition, make a copy of your world before searching for your items. This way at least you can try several times before getting them back Edit: I just got Java too. You can make a world backup before searching for your items AND another one for when you reach the chunk containing said items
@@name-0 You can travel those blocks in a different dimension (if you died in the nether, use overworld, and vice versa) and then portal out. Items in a different dimension that you are in don't despawn

One of my friends managed to get 5k subs just making mediocre bedwars videos, so all I can do is keep editing and uploading, hope for the best, and find enjoyment in making videos for how ever many people watch them either way.

The items only despawn when the chunk is loaded, it might be that u nvr loaded that chunk before and when u were riding horse u loaded it and the stuff was still there

that's alright! it just means the phrasing is different. I'm pretty sure this still works on bedrock, but the command is written slightly differently. You should be able to research how to convert it or ask somebody on the Minecraft discord server.

Good question! by default, any items that appear in your world after this command was run will have a despawn time of 5 minutes. The command executes the existing items, not a general rule that all items will not despawn. That's why if you delete the non-despawn items, that does the trick. If you are looking for a way to instead not kill all the items, you can just set the number in the command to 0 I believe, in the sameish place you executed the first command. Hope this helped!

Unfortunately, once your items have despawned, you cannot get them back. You can however, turn on cheats, run the command, and then turn off cheats. The command will still be effective and in place. Just don't forget to despawn the other stuff manually or big big LAG!

apparently, Mojang said that it takes 5m because otherwise lag, but you can use this command to temporarily disable that.

Itll work! just make sure your stuff is in loaded chunks when you run the command. Also dont forget to despawn the other items yourself!
