My favorite rendition of this beautiful song. Filled with every emotion imaginable, and not for one moment is it insincere. Thank you, Judy! Happy Heavenly Birthday, on the 99th Anniversary of your birth! We are so grateful for all you gave, and you gave your all.
One of the greatest inspirational tunes of all-time sung by the greatest singer to ever walk the face of this planet. Without a doubt the best version of this song. Judy was born to sing it!!!!
Hundreds of artists have covered this song, but no version better encapsulates it than this particular version by Judy Garland. Her haunting voice brings chills up my spine every time I hear it. I never cease to turn to it whenever I feel lost, depressed or isolated.
It is a gift to all of us that she shared her talent. She sang from her heart and her audience felt it . Her amazing connection to her audience was and is still unequaled.
I remember reading in a book that Judy was once walking down a street in Beverly Hills, and Elvis was in a limousine. He recognized her and ordered the driver to stop when he got along side her. When he did, Elvis rolled down his window and said, "Miss Garland , I think you are great". To which Judy replied, "Mr. Presley, I think you are great as well."
Almost! Actually she was in a limousine with Jack Paar when Elvis's limousine pulled up beside her. He rolled down his window and said "you are the greatest singer and actress in the world"! Jack Paar quickly said "hi, I'm Jack Paar"! Elvis then immediately rolled up his window and drove away. Judy thought this was so very funny and she laughed and laughed. The IRS had just repossessed her house and her car for unpaid back taxes in 1967 when this occurred. So very sad , however her humor in all of her many tragic and devastating situations always got her through. 🤔🤗👍❤️
@@charliechilders6630 I never knew that! Thanks for the 411. It was great that these two icons, who were the greatest singers of all time, actually admired each other.
@@TheVerbalVolley she also wanted Elvis to star with her on one of her 1950s TV specials . Elvis's manager (Tom Parker) refused because he demanded much more money and CBS declined. By the way, Jack Paar has repeated this story many times on television! Have you seen the video of the duet with Judy and Elvis singing "you'll never Walk alone"? Simply amazing what computers can do! 🤔
+Walt Keast NO sir it is by far the greatest. I believe she sang this just before she decided to disobey her Doctor and come out of retirement in late 1960 after she defeated death in 1959.
One of the most difficult solos ever written by Rogers and Hammerstein for "Carousel". Enormous range required, power, and dynamic control, all of which Judy did magnificently.
Don't cut her short. The greatest vocalist period. No matter the condition of her voice on any given day, SHE GAVE YOU EVERYTHING SHE HAD, PLUS. In the movie A.S.I. B. Norman Main is tell Esther about a great actress named ELLEN TERRY who had that something extra. When Moss Hart wrote the screen play for A.S.I.B., he obviously felt that way about Judy and that's why he wrote in into the script. And he was so right.
Aloha Judy Garland and lminBetween !!! Thank you for posting this most beautiful hymn "You'll Never Walk Alone." You were a rare gem while on earth !!!! God gave us you!!!! You were God's gift to us !!!! I felt compelled to tell the world !!!! Your singing and performances have blessed my life !!! Am now 78 years old. R.I. P. Judy Garland !!! Love, Robert S.J. So Beautiful - --- - from a most beautiful, and also so sadly a tortured lady,.Thanks so much for posting a wonderful tribute to this great lady! Dorothy from Oz, I miss you dearly!!!
From the little girl Frances Gumm to the powerhouse Ms. Judy Garland , truely a talent from beginning to sad end , she always gave her all when performing . The sound stage and studio was her escape from her own private hell . There will be only one of you !
This beautiful song will be my funeral song. I just shared it with two people and I've only shared it with one other person in my life and that is my sister. I told them I want this song played as my funeral song. The one friend said to me, your not going to die and I told him, but yes I am. We are all going to die and this is the song I want played when I do pass on. I asked him to hear it, he said yeah that's a good funeral song and walked away. He couldn't hear it anymore, but he might be the very friend who I ask to be my Paul bearer. How does anyone walk on from this? I've only shared this song to people who mean something to me. This song is deep and has great meaning to me. Because, I've walked through it all, even the darkness and I've always walked with someone by my side. I've never walked alone and to God is who I will go too when I am alone. Even when I leave this earth. He has never left my side and by His blessings he bestowed upon me, He's has granted me the very blessings in life that has sought me through the darkness. I have family and friends by my side. When you walk through a storm Keep your chin up high And don't be afraid of the dark At the end of a storm is a golden sky And the sweet silver song of a lark Walk on through the wind Walk on through the rain Tho' your dreams Be tossed and blown Walk on Walk on With hope in your heart And you'll never walk alone You'll never walk alone When you walk through a storm Hold your head up high And don't be afraid of the dark At the end of a storm is a golden sky And the sweet silver song of a lark Walk on through the wind Walk on through the rain Tho' your dreams Be tossed and blown Walk on Walk on With hope in your heart And you'll never walk alone You'll never walk alone
Her voice not only gives me the epic spine tingles that only Judy can deliver, but makes me want to cry with pent up emotion I didnt know I had! A bit dramatic but the best way to describe the power her voice has!
Now here's a true entertainer and singer with a less than perfect voice but what a mix! She does it for me! A truly wonderful lady and a pro. Thank you Judy. Sing in Heaven!
On an emotional level, this version is the closest to the way the Liverpool Kop sing You Never Walk Alone. Especially at the peak of the most glorious victory, and as a lament for the greatest loss that can be imagined. Very moving.
A million views for this special lady should be possible!!
I had no idea Judy had sung this. How amazing.
I sang this song in college in 1988!
If this isn’t the song they play at my funeral, I’m not going
one of the greats left us to soon
Too soon, yes
My favorite rendition of this beautiful song. Filled with every emotion imaginable, and not for one moment is it insincere. Thank you, Judy! Happy Heavenly Birthday, on the 99th Anniversary of your birth! We are so grateful for all you gave, and you gave your all.
Out of the park, again.
Her voice and rendition pierces my soul. She is unparalleled and will never be.
Beautiful version of you'll never walk alone wow luv it ❤❤❤😊😊😊
A timeless performance, still enjoying this version in March of 2023,
She puts her heart and soul into every song. She just takes my breath away.
There will NEVER be another like Judy Garland!
One of the greatest inspirational tunes of all-time sung by the greatest singer to ever walk the face of this planet. Without a doubt the best version of this song. Judy was born to sing it!!!!
I agree best version i hated the pacemakers version but i LOVE her version world class
I agree. I’ve listened to it 100 times and I still cry.
Judy took this inspirational musical-theatre ballad and made it her own.
Hundreds of artists have covered this song, but no version better encapsulates it than this particular version by Judy Garland. Her haunting voice brings chills up my spine every time I hear it. I never cease to turn to it whenever I feel lost, depressed or isolated.
“is a golden sky” 0:35 Chills.
I am crying, listening to Judy Garland singing this. Its my favorite song from CAROUSEL, the movie was so sad as well
She was able to move into tears. No one had a so a great level of coneccion to her audience like the great Judy Garland.
One thing Judy Garland does not need is a choir.
Judy Garland gave it all she got, and made her permanent mark on the music industry like no other artist has done before or since.
An Icon for sure! First amoung equals!
It is a gift to all of us that she shared her talent. She sang from her heart and her audience felt it . Her amazing connection to her audience was and is still unequaled.
Her life performances were legendary! More than 50 years after her passing and is still unaqualed!
As Sinatra said, "The rest of us will be forgotten, never Judy."
Ing Kalchthaler so true.
Sinatra and Judy are the two greatest performers of all time!
@@mariannewilton4296 agreed! Apparently they both were heard singing together when they had a drink. Imagine hearing them both! Wow the best!
@@Selena_Mary They did a TV Special in 1961 with Dean Martin. You should check out the You Tube Clip of "Judy, Frank and Dean" It is really amazing.

BEAUTIFUL ♥️♥️♥️🎶🎵🎵🎶🎶🎵🎵🎶⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
JUDY !! 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
For some reason in 1960 Judy was in fantastic voice - the London sessions really caught this period of her life magnificently -
interesting to hear her with a choir.
she should have done it more often.
she sings this so beautiful and hauntingly.
you can hear every emotion. one in a million she was ❤

The greatest performer sings the greatest song ever written with passion, power and vocal perfection!
My heart expands listening to this song, sung by Judy… see, sweet old soul, you are still loved. ❤❤❤
There never was and never will be a greater *star*
This is actually one of the best version. But then of course it is Judy!
Please let me meet this amazing Angel in Heaven someday !!! 2019!!!!
This song is so heartbreaking and uplifting at the same time. Judy Garland's rendition is by far the BEST. You can hear the raw honesty in her voice.
***** Sorry Luna, Miss Garlands effort is praise worthy but I'll take Presley's gospel infused punch at this classic over anyone.
Edward Mcgrath It's just my opinion. If you like Presley's take more, that's cool.
As good as Elvis was, he sang it, Judy lived it. Nothing can ever compare to the raw emotion of this incredible voice.
Don't agree it's the best but it's pretty damn good!

lol..of course she did judy garland was one of the greatest talents ever produced by man.
I'm not a believer, but this talent was not of man, something greater had a hand in this.
She gave us much. Then there is Richard Rogers. I will keep saying it until somebody catches on. He is the greatest composer of the twentieth century.

When you walk through a storm
Keep your chin up high
And don't be afraid of the dark
At the end of a storm is a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of a lark
Walk on through the wind

And you'll never walk alone
