Cuttting rotating mat in the supply list is 12 x12 but Jen is using either a 14x14 or is it 17x17 For the bigger pieces is the 14x 14 rotating mat basically th sized most use for projects . Have a 14x14 one that should provide enough room for the variety Of sewing projects in the braided twist .

If you purchase your Braided Twist Template from an authorized Phillips Fiber Art distributor, the book should have been included with the template as it is required for instruction. You may want to contact the distributor to let them know that your purchase was missing the instruction booklet. We are unaware of authorized distributors that sell the template and book separately. Unfortunately, in our experience, there are companies who are stealing this design, but we have discovered that versions of the templates being sold with the stolen design are not accurate with their sizing, so they do not match the measurements that Cheryl Phillips refers to in her book. Great tutorial! This is a hard concept to grasp, but seeing you create the design start to finish provided a much needed visual. I'm sure you've mentioned this before, but should the fabric be washed prior to making this runner? Thanks so much!

@@ShabbyFabrics thank you. I'm still a novel, not anywhere near the ability to get this far. Now if I tried to replicate that, I would just cut the shapes I see, and sew them together, in the S shape. Simple but to my levels.
You did a great job (as you always do) in demonstrating the steps to take in assembling this tabletop! Although I personally don’t care for the large seam that divides the tabletop down the middle, it is an interesting way to sew it. I understand that it is more for the novelty of how it twists; I would prefer a simpler template that would just cut the shapes out and then sew them together. Same final look without the middle seam to break up the middle.

Hi Patti-Ann! To the best of our ability, we try to never sew over our pins. In this video, most of our pinning runs parallel to the seam we will be seiwng so that we don't sew over the pins, and don't have to stop mid-seam to remove the pins. Hope this helps! -💖Bethany

Hello, I LOVE THIS!!!! But in the video the tool /ruler looks like it is clear, but the tool wit book it looks white, just want to know if i will be getting the clear or white tool. TY!!!

If you're referring to the stock image on our website, the tool may appear white over top of the book, because if it was shown as clear, you would have a hard time seeing it on top of the instruction book. I notice you always sew with your pins in there. Is there certain pins that work best when you are sewing over them? Love this Video Thank U
Hi Patti-Ann! To the best of our ability, we try to never sew over our pins. In this video, most of our pinning runs parallel to the seam we will be seiwng so that we don't sew over the pins, and don't have to stop mid-seam to remove the pins. Hope this helps! -💖Bethany
I have the tool and pattern for this. I made one out of Batiks and I love it. I plan to make one for each of my 2 daughters in law.
It helps to put a label on your fabric pieces. Otherwise you can easily get confused 😕
