    Taking a little trip into the world of microbrand watch makers today. Whilst not an exhaustive list, I’ve done my best to do a rather comprehensive list of microbrands, as defined (by me and others) as: “companies that have limited production, generally focus on a particular style and most likely have limited resources in both, funding, in-house capacity i.e. movements and manufacturing etc.”
    Thanks as always for watching, Jess x

    "Smiths" probably qualifies as a micro brand. I was trying to buy one of their Everest models but gave up when I learned that they try to outdo rolex in terms of poor customer service and general hassle when trying to purchase.
    I bought an Addiesdive (first ever aliexpress purchase) instead and my continual search for watches has been completely satisfied.

      hahaha "out do Rolex" that's a great comment. It's also sad to hear... I don't anyone should want to take that mantle... including Rolex! Addiesdive, would we class them as a Homage watch?

    Sorry, I'm so late to this. Great vid! So many good brands.. The ones I have been enjoying this year are Phoibos and Spinnaker. As an Ozzie, I would also be interested in what you think about Erebus!

    Waldhoff. Their Peacock Factory (Chinese) tourbillon modification isn't bad for the money.

    There is no BS from Rolex AD’s. It’s something that you as a newbie read about on youtube and ran with to get RUclips Dolla Dolla.
    I would compare them with Helm if I were you.
    It takes longer to get a Helm IME.
    They do have an actual countdown waitlist which is great (as are their watches), but can you imagine how it would go if they had AD’s 😂
    Omega are going down the Rolex route these days, so please do a video highlighting this in line with your HR love of fairness 😉
    Check out Alfie btw. He is a world famous rescue dog from Dogs Trust™️ here in the U.K. 🐶

    G’day from Vancouver 🇨🇦. Sorry to be so late to this video, but thought I would leave a comment on ‘our’ watch brand, Halios. Jason Lim produces exceptional watches… something that needs to be experienced in person. Halios is referenced as the Rolex of micro brands due to the amazing quality and attention to detail, long waitlists and the fact that used watches sell well above retail. Thanks for the enjoyable video!

    I just picked up a Brew Metric Retro Dial. Such a fun watch. I love the Rolex Explorer II Polar. I used to have one but too big for my 6.3" wrist. I have 2 nieces and a nephew and picked them all up a Rolex. Got my oldest niece and nephew the Submariner. My youngest niece who is in the Air Force and loves a big watch didn't like the Sub. She picked the Explorer II Polar so that is what she got. I think you'd have an easier time getting the Explorer II over the Sub. The black dial is easier than the Polar here in the US

    • @AussieWristWatch
      @AussieWristWatch  Год назад

      Nice! Yeah if I’m honest I love the Sub for the classic look. But the Explorer II has really grown on me. It looks like a total adventurers watch and let’s face it, as someone who spends hours writing all
      sorts of stories including adventures, it’s perfect!

    I don't think you fully understand what horology actually is. Horology isn't about watches or movements or cases ect horology is actually the study of time
