Only if the talk trails off, you work like a psychologist, and repeat one of the last words of the interviewed with an encouraging interest and a questionmark, for them to elaborate. People get much more livelier if you let them do the talking.

Goodness, advice for interviewers: you throw a startword at the interviewed and just put the micro in front of them and let them choose the direction. Only if the talk trails off, you work like a psychologist, and repeat one of the last words of the interviewed with an encouraging interest and a questionmark, for them to elaborate. People get much more livelier if you let them do the talking.

Kurt died on my 18th birthday. I remember feeling disappointed, fooled, melancholic, apathetic and so much more at the time. Nevermind came out late '91. I remember the first HS party I went to, kids in flannels were moshing to Smells Like...he felt like a voice of a generation and a man who just wanted to be left alone because he understood that only a few things really matter, most of it doesn't matter at all and most people never get even close to understanding that.
