It is also possible that the Mercane are the Planewalking cousins of the Arcane. If WotC brought back Spelljammer for 5e, they might just as easily go down that route.

I'm glad I've found your channel. Not only do you go into the deeper lore behind topics, but you posted this one at just the right time to need the info for my campaign. It's actually thanks to you that I even have a campaign at all, considering it was you who brought up Karsus' Avatar and the unforeseen consequences of that spell. Thank you for what you do

"In long distance travel, the speeds are all the same, regardless of the spelljammer helmet type or the caster."
    One exception. Quad of Thay.

@Michael Johnson Implied, although they never outright stated it. The rules for Ultimate Helms are terrible; effectively just magic items with 1-10 extra spell-like special powers and none were related to moving ships :(

Thank you very much for making these space videos. This high fantasy space travel series is engrossing. I am currently halfway into a 3.5e campaign, and will soon be taking my players into the reaches of space to battle demons of Lovecraftian inspiration. These videos are gearing me up for how to DM space travel, so again; thank you.

I played SpellJammer. Used it when we played in Greyhawk, and in Faerun. I still love 3.0 and 3.5 due to all the books. Had to do some house rules to fix things but then again, if you play long enough it's easy.

Waterdeep has 5 Spelljammers as well, the Elves are covered by the EIA, but Evermeet itself has 20. Netheril used to have a ton too, but nowadays out of Shou Lung the only power in Toril with an actual armada is Haluraa.
The orcs do have presence in Space as the Scro, who are orcs that organize themselves as hobgoblins.

Love your videos. I’m a new DM, and I use your videos to actually understand the dnd universe. You organize everything very well by topic, as opposed to the written materials, which are kind of all over the place. And there’s such a crapton of marerial, just looking up a couple of your videos for relevant information is amazingly useful.

I like this slower approach the the Spelljammers setting. It’s one of those things I know I won’t be able to watch a 20 to 40 (or even 60) minute video of on and get the gist. I think short series on settings like this outside of the forgotten realms are interesting
