Why oh why do truck manufacturers keep puting the self destruct cord right next to the air horn? As a truck driver I'm constantly on edge, knowing my absent mindedness could be fatal. Something needs to change and I think I have the solution. Maybe have the self destruct pedal next to the break instead? Could save a lot of lives. Afterall, what could go wrong then?

Coincidence only. The trucker pulled up in front of his estranged wife's house to deliver the truck to her after the messy divorce awarded it to her. Since it figured prominently in his livelihood, he determined to end his spiralling out of control life, by truck immolation. The kid was just there by chance. Now he'll always carry that guilt with him, passing it on to his children, and then onto theirs. Eventually, the hand signal will become culturally disdained, even hated. Divorce is messy.

Man, this happened to my uncle when he was young. He used to sit all day by the highway and do the pull horn sign to everything. Then one day a car driver accidentaly pushed the self-destruct button and the entire highway was shut off for an week! My uncle never did that again.

This is so sad. The very earliest moment in my family's recorded history was a moment like this, between my great, great, great, great, great grandmother and a British galleon. Millions of dollars' worth of rocks dropped into the ocean, completely ruined, and the entire royal zoo went hungry for a week. I hope that one day the world transcends problems like this.

Newer models have the self destruct cord on the opposite side so the pullers know exactly what they're doing.

There needs to be a regulation that spaces the cords further apart because this is unacceptable. I myself almost pulled the self destruct cord on a bus when I was just trying to signal a stop.

My grandfather's a trucker, and despite the fact that this was on Clickhole; there really is a self-destruct cord, it's inside the bed cabin, which doubles as a funeral coffin, so this was inaccurate.
The only reason gammy-pop-mum's-dad hasn't died on the job yet is because whenever he sees a pedestrian, honking or otherwise, he will then try to flatten and crush them with his truck driving.
If you watch the Steven Spielberg movie 'Duel' it's about a responsible trucker trying to squash a puny, flat-headed pedestrian so he can ensure his own survival. I won't spoil the rest, but he dies in the end.
