I'm 73 and I've been blessed listening to Bob for 60 years!! I've said before that your channel is incredible and I love you for loving Bob, John, Paul George and Ringo soooo much. I'm a lyrics and melody person and nobody can compare to Bob except for those four people I mentioned!! Thanks for your video output Cimdy I believe you have a big influence on a lot of people! Not even John and Paul could come up with such incredible lyrics!!

I've always taken it that it was an existentialist song. The storm is being alive, the shelter is being loved/cared for/supported by another person. And the question is - is it all worth it, in the end? ('Do I understand your question man, is it hopeless and forlon?').

"Do I understand your question, then \ Is it hopeless and forlorn" -- The live versions of this are great too, especially the version on his 1976 live album Hard Rain. I picked up a copy of that in the late eighties and played it often. Dylan's voice sounds so much like Joe Strummer it leaves me wondering how often The Clash listened to that album back then when they were just getting started. I remember that evening in 1976 when ABC did the live Television concert for Hard Rain from Colorado, that show was epic. Most of the songs are on youtube. One of his best is Idiot Wind. A must listen live and the studio version. Incredible
