Great video as always! The first time I remember playing Space Invaders, was in 1979. We were all cooped up in a Holiday Inn while the house was being fumigated, and my elder brother found this machine in the lobby. I'm pretty sure he had never played it (I certainly hadn't), and it didn't help that he'd already had a few :). We both sucked SO bad at the game that we had spent $30 in quarters playing it through the evening!
Oh, I just saw on that catalog page you showed that they're doing a stand alone Street Fighter II CE! By hook or by crook, I need to have that machine!
Thank You for the great unboxing and detailed review of my all-time favorite arcade game Mr. Willie! I love all of your game and toy reviews sir. You take me right back to my childhood in most of your videos. You really are Awesome Willie ! ! !
Now that I completed my review of this unit I finally broke my own embargo on watching other reviews. Thanks, Willie. I found that the only real negative was the tinny speaker that's unable to replicate the sound of the marching invaders. What are your thoughts on this unit's audio quality?
Willie! Thanks for showing this off! I remember seeing this at CES and thinking, if they can get it to look this good, replicating properly the reflective screen, I'm buying one! Just purchased for full price on Amazon. I don't mind paying for quality :) Thanks for letting us know this came out! Can't wait to get mine! vgv
I got my Space Invaders Micro Player last year I love mine from my arcade I've been buying since covid 19 started you can a Bluetooth speaker plug it into the head phone Jack then you can hear the classic Space Invaders sound try it Willy
Nice micro cabinet. Best I’ve seen yet. Visuals and sounds seem legit but the speed of the laser cannon looks a little fast and it’s a shame about the marque light not covering the whole panel and no high-score save (also, the original cabinet didn’t have a joystick but I get why they used one here). Other than that, it looks great and I have mine ordered. I’d love to see more premium mirror-projection micros like this: Asteroids Deluxe, BattleZone, Kick-Man and Omega Race.
This is awesome... I am in awe... The only thing I dont like is the joystick vs right and left buttons... however I'd give it a 9.5 out of 10. Love it.
Have you ever given Space Invaders Extreme (and its sequel) a try? They are by far THE BEST Space Invaders games Taito has to offer. Don't play the 2018 Steam version of the first game, though; they ruined it with that one. Play the DS version of the first game. The second game was DS exclusive and made using the first game's files and code as a base. I will warn you, however... The first game gets hard as stone in stage 5-C and 5-D. 5-B is also pretty difficult. I can't even get through 5-C and 5-D. The second game is more balanced out.
My Arcade finally did something right for a change. After botching their Pac Man and Galaga players, they finally did a properly designed Space Invaders. Hopefully this trend with their future products will continue.
It was purple in the original release in Japan, it was red the midway release in the states. They based this one off the original that came out in japan.
Is it just me, I am curious, but I feel like I have to look down a hole to play the game. My screen is not on the back wall it is down underneath and I feel I have to look down on it to play it. Anyone else have this issue? I was wondering with all the great reviews why no one else mentions this as a problem. I wonder if I just got a bad one? I feel the game should project to the back wall. No? Feedback please?
They have really stepped up their game with this one!
I would love to see an Asteroids Deluxe, or Blasteroids done with the same detail.
I agree!
This looks great. I love that they use a reflected background, just as the arcade. Gonna pick this up. Thanks for showing us the game in action :)
Watching this brings back some memories.

I saw that to :) pretty cool!
I love that Space Invaders song too!
Another reviewer plugged in an external speaker for good arcade sound. The sound is better than what the built-in speaker can play.
I hooked it up to my car stereo, it was epic :P

I agree on the audio quality, I miss the march and the thumping :P
@@SVT512 Today I did a quick follow-up to boost the sound, and WOW THE DIFFERENCE!
@@SVT512 Did you find this at Target?
@@mr.classicragememerook96 Yes, it was back in the toy area where all the board games and such were.
@@SVT512 Sweet ^___^
Space Invaders is the first arcade game I played.
Me too! Good old glory child days, back then in 1978!!

I hooked it up to my sound system in my car for the bass. My neighbors were freaking out :P

this is better than the arcade 1up

Its modeled after the original Japanese cabinet that did have joystick :) Thats why there is a 100 yen button on the front to :)
ArcadeUSA - That makes sense, since the only place I saw preorders for this was on Amazon Japan.
Cool! I wanna get one!
It looks like a really nice little mini arcade, I do believe that $50 is a little pricey for this though 54.99 plus tax..
It's on Amazon for $40! www.amazon.com/dp/B0897SHB6P/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_g.arFb8B9Z8AH
You should try to find the lasted arcade port Space Invaders Frenzy I played it will crazy to play!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Amazing! ❤️🇺🇸
I own it, it’s fantastic!

I just got mine from Amazon yesterday and made my own video on it on my channel
Please share a link to your video!
Mad cool. And not an NES rom.
On my none of the buttons are working and it's brand new out of the box, does anyone have any suggestions?
The Y in PLAY is upside down at 7:42
it does that in the original arcade version as well :) I did not give it time enough for the invader to come out and flip it over.

yep, I have played them

Uncle Glen said you had a review on this puppy.

The most popular game in the arcade? It was the only game in the arcade!!
not in my neck of the woods, had pinball and pong with it.
My Arcade finally did something right for a change. After botching their Pac Man and Galaga players, they finally did a properly designed Space Invaders. Hopefully this trend with their future products will continue.
The sound is the only downfall of this, it sounds so much better with headphones or a good external speaker.
My only complaint is the UFO wasn't purple. Disappointing they would make an oversight or change like that.

@@SVT512 No kidding???
@@SVT512 I also noticed the top row of invaders score at only 20 points instead of 30. Boo. 👎🏻
@@SVT512 Idk Willie.. I can't find ANY footage of the purple UFO.

Not sure what you mean, had no problem playing mine. maybe you should make a video on yours to show what is going on?
Awesome video!
Thanks buddy!
I think I can finally justify the $25 to buy one of these! Assuming that’s the price. If I see one I’ll pick it up!
its more that 25 currently, its not like the other My Arcade units.
I think MSRP is $40
Teria link do site que vende?
amazon.com
does it use the original arcade ROM
Yes.
It's not 100%. The UFO wasn't purple.
Duuuuuuuude.......wow
I know! I was pleasantly surprised. it has some drawbacks but I love it :)
It's really cool, but to be honest, the Gameplay is a little bit too fast, though, isn't it!? 😉
Did not notice
@@SVT512 Yeah, but in fact, it is! If you compare it with the original, you'll notice it!
cool, dont really care though :P
