I'm not a big fan of Space Invaders, but it looks like they just nailed that retro aesthetic so well.
Looks like a solid unit, and definitely the direction MyArcade needs to keep heading in. Sure, might need a few improvements along the way, but an excellent beginning with these 'premium' micros.

I am not worthy
With Quarter Arcades’ version releasing in a month or so , it got me looking at this again. I went ahead and ordered it. If I don’t love it , I’ll give it to my Brother , and order the Quarter Arcades version.
Now bring us Asteroids deluxe with the same screen design as the arcade. That would be awesome.

I also wish that MyArcade included Space Invaders Part II, but overall, it looks VERY pretty. And the reflection of the aliens on the background (which no one else has replicated) is also a strong selling point. I may have to snag one for my coffee table.
Same here..but even with the original game it's a really nice little unit.
Not me.. because by this (great) standard, if they were going to make Space Invaders Part II, then I would want a recreation of the red cabinet, and red background and blue moonbase background of Space Invaders Part 2! :) There are 4 Space Invaders backgrounds in all, Taito/Midway SI1, and Taito/Midway SI2.
I got my MyArcade Space Invaders and like it too. They are also coming out soon with a Street Fighter II. I'm getting that one as soon as I can.
The little gem is arrived last friday and I'm still very excited, and I hope it will be the Space Invaders Part II or Deluxe version.
Now that's an awesome unit! I love the reflective display, very cool and excellent video my friend! Really enjoyed watching it.

Thank you! Looks great! I talked to Arcade1Up about the mirror planet effect. If thier 40th had that I would have purchased it from Arcade1Up. Told them to see if they can emulate that on the future partycade version like my Xbox version did. I will have to get 1 of these. :)

After all the great reviews we have been giving they be stupid not too. They did a very nice job and priced right. They hit it out of the park and the great reviews are well deserved.
The Basic Fun version even though that was number 2 of the first two Basic Fun minis it was like a Tiger handheld on steroids.
I love this bought it from Target last one, the only issue is the sound is way to quiet, at top volume you can barely hear the aliens move in a quiet room.

While the screen isn't prefect thats at least cool that they tried to do the mirror effect. I also want to throw it out there that Space Invaders has one of my favorite cabinet art
Totally agree but st a $39.99 price point this is amazing and is a showing that manufacturers need to step up there game..as this is now shown to be doable at a very fair price

It's NOT the arcade ROM, it's a port. The saucers don't give the correct points, when you
shoot them on the 23 shot, you don't get 300 points. Same with the shots afterwards.
It's good enough for most people.

This is really nice and love the authenticity, of course. I wasn't previously aware of this line. Nice heads up, thanks! -- I'd like to see them go a little bigger to compete in that space with A1up's countercades.

every company makes like 5 space invaders, a dig dug and pacman. i get it but they need to release arcade 1up bar top marvel vs capcom or street fighter, mortal kombat ect... not everyone grew up on these games, i'm 36 and i never liked these games. i'm happy they're out because it gives me hope but at the same time, they need to make different games different cabinets, how many versions of space invaders and pac man do people want? it would be nice if we can get a wide variety of mini and bar top cabinets so we can all enjoy. good video btw. i might pick one up.

I'm loving this machine! As soon as Willie's video went up, I purchased mine off Amazon and it arrived a day later! I don't mind paying full price for a replica like this :)
It feels like the arcade rom to me, though I could also be wrong. As for the sound, I just watched an update video on this by GenXGrownup and he plugged an Anker external speaker into it and it pumps the bass of the marching invaders as we remember from the arcades! I'm going to do this as well! My only gripe is I'd rather have the button left and right movement over the Joystick as I remember playing back in the day, but I do like that the joystick is two way.
Just when I thought I was going to stop buying miniature arcade machines they suck me right back in :) I'm only going to buy ones at this higher quality level though. Thanks for showcasing this!

Yea I had done this too.. still not 💯 on it being the arcade ROM..but man if not it's super close.. with the extra speaker with base it sounds badass .. it's totally worth $39.99

The screen is big enough for me for short sessions, my eyes aren't what they used to be. It's comparable to other mini arcades of it's size. I think everyone thinks of big enough in their own way, so I'm not sure if my assessment helps.

Is that a blue background and a red planet in the background? None of the original versions had that type of backdrop so I'm not sure where that type of background came from and if that is a custom rom? It does look really cool. I'm a space invaders fan. I have the Taito 20-1 and it has both Space Invaders and Return of Invaders. Would be cool to have this.
Yea it's not perfect.. planet in the original arcade was artwork here looks like it's a 3D plastic planet still looks really good though but the background is definitely not arcade accurate
Huh? That looks exactly like the original Taito Space Invaders background. While it's not an "exact" 1-1, it's a very faithful visual of it. There are 4 different backgrounds between Japanese & US Space Invaders & Space Invaders pt2.

ElectricLuvz the screen in Glen’s video on the left in the side by side doesn’t look anything like the two you posted. The two you posted are the ones I’m familiar with, and the black backdrop only I’m familiar with. The planet in the mini looks red and has a odd bulge border on the planet. If that backdrop is the 4th type you refer to then I just learned something. It’s just looks like a different planet on the mini.

I acknowledge it's not an "exact" replica of the original Taito background. But I do say it's a pretty faithful reproduction for the size. I think for the dimensions and small form factor it's as good as you can get without losing detail.

Hey you should try find the new arcade port called space invaders frenzy it crazy like you can use bombs and missiles and the with invaders you have see them for yourself!!!!!
