"This place is getting too safe for my liking" - Dan, April 2024. lmao
😂😂😂
We need to sleep at night Dan 😊
😂😂😂😂😂
Yes, made me laugh too 😂
Famous last words
'And I'll see you, tomorrow!'
Been waiting for a long time to hear those words again!!!
Yaay popcorn!!
That put a big smile on my face!
Best words for a long time
I was certain that Dan would of given up by now . , so glade that does not look like it is going to happen !
I don't know why, because I've been watching every chateau video from the beginning, but when you and Nick stepped out on that balcony, I got a little emotional. What you are doing is amazing and mind-blowing. And shocking, really, since so much you have done by yourself. I can't get the images out of my mind of you shoveling out the basement with that darn wheelbarrow with the flat tire. You have come so far! Just in AWE.
I did too, weird but here we are!
For real though!!! Like damn!!! MAJOR MILESTONE!!! ❤❤❤
Definitely a Lord of the Manor moment
A collective sigh of relief from your supportive subscribers for those handrails!!! 😊😊
AND Calvin's parents too! Next time he comes Dan won't have to promise to, not let their son fall to his death😢!!!
I was in Home Depot in USA waiting for my paint and 3 men were standing there too so I pulled up your site, told them all about you and they each took down your site and thanked me. I’m a big fan ! 👍❤️
Too CooL!😎
Oh whaddya know let’s all do this NOW. Great idea. Dan deserves all the follows.
Very cool! And I feel safer, even though I'm hundreds of miles away!😊
It looks amazing some walls ,look rendered did you do that
Love the sight of both of you on the balcony.
Who knew that handrails would be the ultimate clickbait !!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🥰🥰
Yeah! I'm relieved, genuinely! I want to see this place progress towards completion, not hear that it's back up for sale part done, because the owner had a preventable fatal accident or got otherwise maimed on site. 👍🏻
I bet Kat had something to do with those rails going up.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hmm yes , that did enter my passage of thoughts. .
"Too safe for my liking." That goes down in the book of Danisms, along with "plantless
plants ".
Thanks Dan, you always come through with that great attitude. ❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉😊
and "a few planks short of a floor" 🤣🤣
@@JuSutton And "A brown trouser moment".
Plantless plants was a truly iconic moment on RUclips. Stephanie just brought those up again today on her video. 😂
Do not forget the word NOGGINGS 😊
Dan likes to wind us up lol
"This place is getting too safe for my liking", Dan, that should be on a T-shirt.
Dan and Nick you did a marvelous job installing the rails on the steps and making it safer to travel around to the different floors of the Chateau. Good job!
And, film crews can safely get up and about and not have to rely on drones.
@@AnnieWarbux Fabulous !!!! As long as they paid for it ??
@AnnieWarbux yes, I thought that's probably happening when I saw the wave.
I can remember it when you first did your blog and it was a big old
Crumbled shell . Now it is a chateau in repair ❤️ what an achievement. And you did most of it by your little lonesome so proud of you.
Hey Dan. There is actually a very similar building with this one in Romania. It is called “ Palatul Ghiță Pleșa”, situated in Obarsia de Camp. From what I know it was built in 1892 by a local land owner who had a son in France studying Law. He eventually got married in France and later died there without having children. The building is registered in Romania as National Monument with identification Code: MH-II-m-A-10367.
I hope this helps in your journey of rebuilding.
That beautiful drone shot of Dan and Nick on the balcony surveying a new view of the landscape and then as silhouettes from inside the chateau - truly cinematic. Bravo!
Dan, I remember when you first started this project and frankly I found it somewhat depressing. I thought to myself "how can this guy possibly tackle this immense project?". Now I think, this guy can DEFINITLY handle this project!
Simpel!! STEP BY STEP!
And Now he has steps to get there faster & safer!
"Too safe"! 🤣 It's as if every video you post nowadays shows the chateau becoming more "civilized." It is SO exciting!
Dan! Wait! What the....? Holy cow! And pigs DO fly, as well! I am So overjoyed that you have made handrails! Actual handrails! Behold the day!!!! I can now stop viewing your vlogs without anxiously peering between fingers :) Thank you Nick! It all comes down to your good influence....I am most certain :) Cheers boys! This is soooooo good!!!!!!!
"This place is getting too safe for my liking" made me laugh!! 🤣 Well, you still have two more roofs to scare the bejesus out of all of us following you! ♥️🤣😂🤣
Those handrails just made me feel so much better. Well done
I feel, like a proud mama! Not 9th the “stairs,” but safe ones! Brought tears to my eyes to see you and Nick step onto the balcony.
Yeah, that was really nice...
All we needed was the Royal wave from the King of the Chateau when you stepped out onto the balcony
So happy to hear the "See ya tomorra' ". You, the team & the Chateau have been greatly missed 🏰🇫🇷⚜️❤️
Super happy to see you've put railings on those slightly scary ramps! But what a wonderful bit of progress they are! My husband and I loved watching your posts so much. Sadly I lost him in early March and I wish he could have seen this milestone take place, as we always wondered at what point some kind of stairway would appear. We never anticipated ramps and he would have laughed and enjoyed this development so much. I will keep watching for both of us to see what happens next.
That's a Dan kind of attitude, very positive view of a dismal situation. Wishing you some ease from another in this disparate community. Big Mammy hug from Derry, Ireland. Xx
I hope you are okay!
Blessings
Hugs to you, a loss is very sad. But watching Dan was something you both did, memories to carry on traditions.
❤ Great attitude at a very hard time.
HUGE HUGS to you! I am sure you are talking to your hubby as Dan does something diff or NUTS. He will be right beside you enjoying it as well!
I don’t know how to describe the amazing feeling I felt for you when the drone showed you coming up the stairs and straight onto your balcony, for the first time since you owned it.
The man. Dan. And his Manor/Château.what another amazing feat. letting you know again how proud you deserve to be of yourself. Well done Dan👍And Thankyou…..
Seeing Nick's "stair cam" at the start gave me severe vertigo! I certainly feel a lot safer with the rails in place :) Awesome job chaps!
Oh me of little faith. I have been watching and watching without subscribing thinking it just a ridiculous pipe dream that'll never come to owt. Now I see what the thousands of other subscribers must have seen. This is an amazing chateau : so beautiful, being manifested into reality once again and Dan and his team are true visionaries. Thank so much for bringing us along on your journey.
So you've subscribed now, right?? 😉
Thank goodness you put the rails in, it was terrifying see the view through Nick's GoPro. Well done guys 💖
I see what you did there, Dan was tired of us moaning about the handrails. Now the thumbnail already shows the handrails lol.
I know imagine people being worried that he would slip to his death!,crazy!!😂 But great to see, probably only the 3rd time he's bothered with safety so far this build😮😂
Lmao, thank god he has all of us who love him enough to comment.
I am so glad he’s done that. I’m no stranger to dubious health and safety practice in my own home but the narrow stairs disappearing skyward with nothing to grab hold of on the side actually made me feel a bit sick! 😂 Now I can relax again and enjoy the vid.
Have you let the boys go up there yet Dan??
It was just too narrow for hauling stuff up LOL. I am so glad he did, I get anxiety watching him sometimes.
I am so glad you have nic! One, he is wonderful and two, he has your back, all of the time...a true friend:) Loved the two men of the chateau, looking over the whole domain. How grand!!
You are at the point where multiple little accomplishments are happening more rapidly. Everything is beginning to pay off more and more. It's so exciting to watch because we are also incredibly invested in you and what you are doing..
Seeing the "stairs" was worth the wait for just a few updates a week.. Look at the progress that have been accomplished in the a few short weeks.
Look how close Dan's getting to 500k. Incredible.
Spring has sprung! And within days the trees have burst out, a temporary staircase is in and progress roars along. You guys are an inspiration!
Ahhh…made my heart sing to see you two chateau wizards strut out onto the BALCONY! Well done, you!🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Finally to stand on the balcony, wow just wow.
You should be so proud, bravo.
I don’t know why but this brought tears to my eyes: it’s safer, it’s bringing it back to life, the views and can take a moment look out and breathe BRAVO men you’ve done a great job!!! 👍❤️🌹
So glad you have Nick to help out. He’s so capable. Kinda sweet that he was able to be there and enjoy that beautiful moment of reaching that level for the view.
Those stairs make me think about all the trips by all the children that traveled up and down that stairwell. Great to see the safety.
Beginning to look like a chateau to me! What a beautiful staircase. SO much safer than ladders. Dan, you will have a proper chateau before you know it.
Remember Dan, we only comment because we care about you.
I love the excitement on your face and in your voice about the stairs/planks and the Awesome Views. Nick is such a jewel of a helper. Wonderful job guys.
Wow! That drone shot of you and Nick walking out onto the balcony wins the day! New stairs are amazing.
I actually think I heard a collective sigh of relief!🤣😂 Well done Dan and Nick!
I love to see the multiple yous! 😂 You need every hand you can get - the more, the merrier!
Dan and Nick, when you guys stepped out on that balcony, I got a little emotional. It is actually a major accomplishment. What a view! Floor after floor, what a view! Thank you, Dan and Nick, for sharing this wonderful adventure of the progress you are both doing on saving this chateau. Brings joy to me every time I see more progress. So far, the staircase will be one of my most favorite memories, one that I will never forget. No more ladder stairs.
Nick has been a Godsend with all the work he has done and all his help. ❤ Wonderful NICK ❤❤❤❤
I am pleased to see the sturdy railings cos I was worried the dogs could slip off ... well worried for Dan as well (obvs!) ... but mostly the darling dogs. Isn't this a wonderful renovation ... I am loving every stage. WELL DONE DAN ... and thank you x
And the kids...
I worried every time I saw Dan climbing around with no protection or safety gear. Also worried about the doga
Et les enfants non ?
Dogs will be up there before you know it.
Now, if only we could convince him to wear eye protection and a mask. Pssshhhhhtttt!
Dan, you’re doing an amazing job and keeping so many of us informed and entertained. Such a nice bloke too. Well done 👍
Chuffed to bits!
Really think you’re doing wonders
Great work, Dan and Nick! It will be much safer and easier now. It makes the vision of the levels of the chateau that much clearer!
What a phenomenal job Dan. A big sigh of relief to see those handrails go up though. Yes it is still steep but much more workable than I previously thought it would be, not to mention a big mental boost as your access to upper floors opens up and becomes easier. Very happy to hear we are getting back to daily vlogs again, like many of your subscribers it makes my day to follow your achievements. What a boon Nick is for you too.
Wow, that place is looking really good. I’ve been watching since you first started and never missed a single video and I liked them all.😃😃😃
Following you from Warner Beach, KZN, South Africa.
I'm glad you're going to be back tomorrow as I got so used to your daily videos, it was really missed.
And yeah, the staircase is much safer now 👌
Hello Warner Beach, used to live there and eat Chelsea Buns from the KwikSpar 😊
Greetings from Ireland, what an epic moment, well done young lad, you have achieved so much 👍
Congrats Dan and Nick 👏👏👏👏
Everyone is so happy for you Dan … what an achievement !!!!!!
It’s all coming together … roof, flooring, garden, and now a staircase with handrails 😉😊😆 This is the standard we have come to recognise and appreciate from the very beginning … no shortcuts … no compromise … well done !!! Durban SA🇿🇦
Wow! that really is progress. Really happy for Dan and everyone working with you. It has been a pleasure to follow you this far.
I’m SO excited going on this journey- from the first exploration and dream of restoring it… to watching Dan and his friends do the most incredible work… I’m excited about it so I don’t know how Dan manages to sleep!!🤣🤣🇦🇺🐨❤️
When you two walked out onto the balcony, I almost waved. Lol…great work, Dan, Nick and fellow workers. Yeah, there are rails, now we’re happy!
Well one good thing about the “safety”. You got a lot of activity in your comment section. Goes to show how much people myself included love your “show.” But it’s not the videos that gets me as much as your attitude to life. You just seem like the nicest guy all around and it’s a pleasure to support your journey. Take care and keep cracking!
Fantastic!!! Not only the outside views but the inside views! I can almost imagine the final elegant curved rail going up and up.
best words today: I will see ya….tomorrah! 😂
Hell yeah!!!!
Great to see how the felled trees have contributed to the interim staircase! Would love to see longer drone shots of the gardens! What an amazing journey your are on Dan! Thanks for sharing it with us.
Hey Dan! Hey Nick! Love the stairs!!! But I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE, CRAZY LOVE, the STAIR RAILS!!! ME too Nick, you said it! "Oh I feel so much safer." And Dan you put the perfect punctuation on it with "No falling to your death here." Beautiful work my two favorite workers. Love you both to bits. Congrats!!! Loving every minute of it! Go Chateau de Chaumont!!!
Dan… it doesn’t just seem like an achievement. It is actually a major accomplishment. You have done miracles comparing to what you started with. God bless you and give you more strength to reach your goal.
OK 1 : We now have a perspective on how a future grand staircase will look .
2: The boys are going to LOVE playing on those ❤❤
This one made me emotional! You are crushing this project Dan, well done!
So glad you’re making newel posts and handrails after precariously walking up ladders with buckets of cement!😊
The chateau is having a dress rehearsal for when the real staircase goes in! It's given us a little taster of how wonderful it's going to look when the permanent staircase goes in. Fantastic job guys!
Wow! I can relate to the feeling of stepping up to the railing of the balcony! You must feel very proud and accomplished. On to the next part of the project! Keep up the great work and stay safe!
3:37 got a shiver down my spine, IT'S COMING TOGETHER!!! Congrats, all your work is paying off!
Congrats on the stairs. About 8:33 when you put the ladder against the wall, there appears to be a lot of debris in the background. For safety, perhaps before you tackle your next part of the project, it might be time for a clean up. As you are working there most of the time ALONE, remember stuff can happen. Safety first. What you are doing is just unbelievable. Thanks for sharing your journey with us.
Vous pouvez être fière de vous. J'adore vous suivre même si je ne parle pas anglais. Bravo.
Vive le Google Traduire ( Je parle Anglais)
Woo hoo ...... There are handrails 🥳🥳
My heart is soooo happy for you, the absolute joy you must have felt walking out on the balcony, WOW things are moving fast !!!!!! So exciting, cheering you on from 🇨🇦
Dan and Nick can you imagine you are standing on the balcony where Mironnet's wife, alone in the château at the time of the fire, managed to escape from the flames by tying bed sheets through a window (wikipedia) the view is fantastic. One can see how the stairs went up in the chateau and what it looked like. Thank you Dan and Nick for sharing this wonderful adventure of the progress you are doing on saving this chateau. I look forward to the videos. Have a lovely day.
So glad to see the railing going in. Safety is a must. It is wonderful seeing all the progress you have made!
Hello Dan
Stairs
There will be furniture next
You are a true inspiration dear man
Andrew 💐💜x
Dan, you have literally and emotionally risen to new heights! Such a mammoth accomplishment! Congratulations! Glorious!
If Dad could have seen you using the chainsaw he would of said why didn't I think of that for trimming! LOL Taking on this project is a testament to your courage Dan. Your ambition holds no boundaries as we have seen over the years here on your channel. Rock on my friend.
Can't wait...hope for daily updates coming back soon!
2000 Plants!!! Wow, that is a LOT of plants!! Howdy from Oregon USA, clean and green here (and often wet).
I just love watching the chateau come back to life and watching your channel grow. I am also always happy when Nick arrives and brings his expertise to the chateau and to the gardens.
I could here the collective sigh of relief of almost 500,000 subscribers when they seen the handrails bring installed.
Well done, that’s made a huge difference. You should be very proud of your achievements so far
It absolutely is an achievement to gain back each milestone in the renovation. You should be proud of all the work you and your team did. It's exciting! Well done!
Every bit of progress brings a smile. Its pure joy to see your château being rescued from ruin and its history preserved.
I love Nick being there with you, showing his perspective on the GoPro. I enjoy how well the two of you work together, sharing ideas and getting things done. ♥️
Yes Its all about keeping Dan safe and with all the viewers watching following health and safety requirements is important, but keep up the awesome work your doing Dan cant wait to see more progress
Yes, thank goodness for the handrails! Now if he would just wear those dang goggles to protect his eyes from flying wood chips and other debris flying around! Hey fella - you only have two eyes and neither of them can be replaced. Eye damage is forever.
From that walk with your family exploring the forest with a ruin buried deep within - to where you are today - a miracle. Congratulations Dan.
Hey Dan, some strings of solar powered lights that would come on with motion detectors, or not, would be handy on the "stairs". I have two over my front sidewalk to my door and they have worked great for 10 years.
Now the dogs can annoy you on all floors 😂
Well done Dan.
Thank heavens for the site safety manager, Nick. You're a legend too, from climbing trees, to building Chateaus.
YES - thank heavens for Nick AND Kat!!!
I still vividly remember when you took one widow frame to a carpenter , before any excavation had begun , and were struggling to get that one frame reproduced . I had thought to myself that this project would drag on for years and never even scratch the surface but , you've proven me to be remarkably wrong and I'm so glad .
Toll was Ihr leistet!!! Alles gut und gesunde weiterhin!!!
The progress now is amazing!! Just don't work yourself to a standstill! I bet the gardenis coming along brilliantly now as well.
It was very impactful seeing 2 small men on the balcony in comparison to the size of the chateau, & puts in perspective the scale of the rebuild. You can be so proud Dan 👏
I know you know, but how lucky you were to have met Nick, REALLY, what a find !! I I just love the aerial shots, amazing to see the progress from afar or that captures it all.
Good to see there are railings 👌
So happy you are safe and the progress is awesome. I have no knowledge of building.
You might want to know I pray you won't fall. Such balance and coordination. ❤
❤Guys, you are making a LOT of nervous people very happy with those handrails! A right proper staircasey thingy. Bravo!!
I agree with a previous comment that the stringers should sit on top of the landing sections as opposed to birds mouth into them because that only leaves a small bit of wood supporting the weight.
Yesssss!!! The daylies are back! So glad! Good job on the stairs, so mutch safer.. 💋
